I do not recommend this Medical Group. It is very poorly managed. The doctors are great, but they are extremely busy and impossible to get a hold of. I have had an appointment on my calendar for the last six months, and I've been trying to get a hold of them for the last few weeks after being in a serious car collision to be seen sooner. No call back despite leaving multiple messages. I've been trying to call all day yesterday and today's appointment, never received a phone call, voicemail, or text message confirming my appointment. I feel that I have no choice but to switch doctors, if I cannot even be seen for my followup appt with my PCP after a major car collision which totaled my vehicle or get confirmation of a long standing scheduled appointment. It doesn't matter how good my doctor is when their support staff and scheduling is severely deficient. Best case scenario: when you do have an appointment, expect to wait anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. I do not recommend this practice for these reasons. It is unfortunate. Also, this practice appears to be primarily HMO, but I have PPO, which is very good insurance and means the doctor is getting paid extremely well to see me. This is not a review of every doctor in this practice, but rather of the way the group is run. You CANNOT connect (according to some of the recorded messages) with anyone in less than "24 to 48 hours." While my most involved and helpful physician is in this practice, my other doctor is practically worthless. He nods and seems compassionate, but he follows up on NOTHING. It is not worth seeing him at all. He has not proactively treated me for anything I have seen him for in many years. If you are a fan of Artificial Intelligence, you will love this practice. This is for Saddleback Medical Group. I don't even want to give them this star. It is amazingly impossible to make an appointment with this group. You call in. There is no live person on this phone line. They direct you to the website where you fill out new patient forms. You then have to call in again to tell them you filled out the forms so they can call you back to make an appointment. Guess what? You'll never get that call back. I have been trying since 6/11/21 to get an appointment. God forbid you actually have something wrong. You could literally die before you get a call back from this group of doctors. read more

This is for the gastroenterology office only: if you need to make an appointment or have a concern you must leave a message with their medical assistant and wait for them to call you back. It's not an issue if their medical assistant would get back to you within a day or two. The problem is that nobody calls you back even if you leave a message and calling so many times. I am really puzzled by all this, how could a medical group last like this? I've had a lot of doctors before and their practice must be the worst I've ever experienced. First off it takes FOREVER to make an appointment with this group. I called so many times trying to make an appointment and constantly was told "oh they are not in the office yet" or "they are at lunch" and never was asked once if they could take my name and number down to call back. Second I called right now to do talk to my doctor and must have accidentally pressed the wrong extension and the woman who answered was extremely rude! She said there was no possible way I dialed 949-770-7163 when I was looking at my phone and that's the exact number I dialed. She was awful and had horrible customer service skills. Regardless of the situation you should always be polite towards patients. I was only asking her about where I can find my lab results and if My Dr would be calling me! I attempted to make an appointment with one of the doctors. You get greeted with voicemail even during business hours, run by a drill sergeant, "IF YOU ARE A NEW PATIENT, LEAVE YOUR NAME AND PHONE NUMBER ONLY.!!" So they call me back the next day. The scheduler wants to know why I am coming in and said I should go to my primary for that. Then she wants to hear all of my GI symptoms in detail or she won't give me an appointment. And here I am in a very quiet, open office at lunchtime. Nobody wants to hear my symptoms!! And how many people want to name their GI symptoms out loud when they are randomly called during the work day? So now I have no appointment. Good way to fend off customers, lady!! read more

A multi-specialty group providing medical care for older adults. This review is for Kevin Ashby, Gastroenterologist / MD. He exemplify what a doctor should be. An elderly friend of the family has been under his care for several months due to a sudden onset of esophageal dysphagia. Dr. Ashby performed a gastrostomy tube placement which allows direct feeding to the stomach. His manners and professionalism is top-notched. His knowledge in the field is impressive. He explained treatments and procedures in layman's terms; he addressed all concerns; and last but not least, he made the patient feel included in all treatment plans and provided comfort with a simple smile or pats on the back. I was truly impressed as I attended some of the care-conferences. The office is located on the third floor of the Citibank building. Free private parking garage is adjacent to the building. I needed to pick up a kit from their lab. They said they open at 7:am, I had called a couple of times to the lab. Nobody picked up the phone. So I left a voice message. No reply. Called my doctor, nurse said the prescription is ready and the kit can be picked up. I thought I only need to go to the front desk to pick it up. Front desk sent me to an "only" technician-lab. He was the only working person there. I had to wait in the line for him while he performed procedures for other patients. 1. During office hour, there should be a person to answer the phone. 2. If nobody can pick up the phone, a voice mail should have been replied to let patients know the pre-visit procedures. 3. No registration there to help patients for admission. The person before me had multiple prescriptions, some from outside doctors. The "only" technician had to run computer to verify and discuss with him about the insurance. The clerks should be able to hand me the kit. 4. The technician withdraws blood in public noisy waiting area. There should be a dedicated room for privacy. 5. Lab won't let you make appointment, first come first serve. So when you're uncomfortable from sickness, you can't make appointment You need to stay in the line and pray the line is short. read more

Dr Bagi's Gastroenterology office has been terrible to work with. I woke up during both of my exams and they had to put me back under after not giving me enough sedative (it was twilight sedation, but still not a fun experience). After the endoscopy I had, I tried to make a follow up appointment. I just needed the results of one of my exams, and regardless of leaving a few messages with the office wasn't able to get in touch with anyone simply to schedule an appointment. I never got a call back and have gone to another practice, though I'm still getting bills from them almost a year later (even though I was only told I'd have to make two payments). I normally really like to post positive things, but I have nothing good to say about this office. read more

The doctors here seem good -- I saw Dr. Alan White & Dr. Huseby. The issue for me is the lack of communication and organization within the office. My biggest problem has been trying to get the results of lab tests that were ordered, so I would suggest getting your labs done prior to any visit with Dr. David Huseby. I've left 10 to 15 messages with Dr. Huseby's nurse over the last 2 months. When she calls me back, all I get are excuses about how she left a message for Dr. Husbey, or he didn't work on Monday and "isn't coming in today" and the latest that he'd on vacation for 2 weeks. I am not interested in why Dr. Huseby ignores messages from his nurse, and I shouldn't have to keep calling back asking for the same thing. Someone should follow up to assure patient requests are addressed. On a bright note, the building cafeteria makes a great Reubin, and everything is underpriced. read more

My wife and I both see doctors at Saddleback Medical Group. Our PPO insurance covers 100% of our yearly physical exams. After every visit, we get bills from Saddleback Medical Group. If we call them, we are forced to leave voice mails that never get returned...and I mean never. Finally, we have to contact our insurance company to resolve the matter. We spend 10-15 minutes in a doctor's office and 45 minutes resolving billing issues every single time. We are done with Saddleback Medical Group. She also looked over all my information such as CT Scan and diagnosis She identified one of the information missing from CT Scan. She prescribed a X-ray right away to check my pelvic area and called me back about the result right away to inform me everything is fine. In addition she is very polite and patience. This review in fairness has nothing to do with the doctors, but with the medical group itself. I had previously seen a doctor at this office that is no longer there. I looked at the other doctors' specialties and decided that Dr. Shah was the best option for my symptoms. Unfortunately, this medical group will not let you pick your own doctor!! You must see the doctor who took over for your previous doctor. I was referred to Dr. Mazier Zamani by a trusted friend. He raved about how wonderful Dr Zamani is, and would never go to anyone else. I was so impressed by my friends enthusiasm for this doctor I decided to change my insurance to a plan that included Dr, Zamani. BEST decision ever! When I sat down in the waiting room (pre Covid 19) I couldn't help but notice the age group of his patients, most over 80 y/o , obviously he specializes in Geriatrics. At my first visit I understood why my friend highly recommended him as a PCP. Great bedside manner, effective listener, incredibly knowledgeable, investigative with my concerns, is a compassionate doctor, and explains things in an understandable way. I had a follow up today and was happy to report (after following Dr. Zamani's recommendations) I have never felt better! I'm going to continue on the health plan Dr. Zamani has recommended to attain my optimal health, and have a follow up in 4 months. This review is for two Doctors - Dr. Catherine Ngo and Dr. Lawrence Tran. Dr. Catherine Ngo- Dr. Ngo is always determined to get you feeling better. She is Clinically outstanding and has great bedside manor. Takes the time to answer any questions (I generally have a lot) and listens to any recommendations I might have in regards to my care plan. I am very happy knowing I have a doctor like Dr. Ngo monitoring my long term illness. Dr. Ngo pulls out all the stops, and that's exactly what you want from a doctor. I couldn't ask for a better doctor. Behind every great doctor is an awesome assistant. Markel (Dr. Ngo's assistant) is on top of it, relays messages, call backs and responding to V/M's, Gets authorizations in promptly. Makes the whole going to the Dr. Thing a breeze. Dr. Lawrence Tran- Dr. Tran is great, luckily I haven't had to come into his office a lot, but when I do it's because I feel terrible. Dr. Tran is very thorough, head to toe. I never feel rushed and I am able to take my time and explain every new symptom. He always has great recommendations at the end of the appointment and genuinely wants you to feel better and is determined to help. Dr. Tran is clinically outstanding and has great bedside manor. I came to Dr. Tran from recommendation from a family member and he has been nothing but outstanding. Again I couldn't ask for a better doctor. The facilities are great, nice and clean. Strategically you couldn't ask for more, all of the doctors are in the same building and are all connected via their secure electronic medical records. So in my case Dr. Tran can see what Dr. Ngo is doing and vice versa. Great Doctors, assistants and facilities. I'll never have to look for a doctor again. 5 Stars read more

This review is for Dr.Cecilia Tran. She comes across as this doctor who really cares about her patient, but when you get the bill she is in it for the money. She double billed me for a preventive care. She asks you questions about your health and then when you answer her, she places a diagnosis so she can charge for another offer visit (thus you get charged for an office visit and a preventive visit). So if you want to see a doctor and not discuss anything or tell her anything without being billed twice, then go to her. Preventive tests that were to be covered were not because she stated I have high blood pressure. When asked to resend the billing to insurance, she refused thus costing me extra money out of my pocket. She is the first doctor I have gone to in years that has done that. It is shameful that a doctor doesn't care enough to help her patients out when she should. My husband and I go to other doctors in this group and have been very pleased. AVOID Dr. Cecilia Tran. I can't believe they allow a doctor to stay in their group that is only in it for the money. read more

I went in for a basic checkup and while I was there, asked to have a mole-like thing burned off of my back. 30 seconds, two sprays of liquid nitrogen, and they charged me $241. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? They lowered it to $107.96, but that liquid nitrogen became the most expensive gas on the planet. I will not return to this doctor's office with these prices. Ouch! read more

Doctors are friendly but they were not up front about insurance billing and I ended up stuck with a large medical bill due to my doctor never mentioning that my insurance wouldn't cover a procedure. When trying to resolve the issue it was difficult to coordinate between the billing department and the insurance company. read more

Dr. Catherine know and her anesthesiologist are the absolute worst Dr.s in practice, Dr. Kno has no bedside manner, gave no reason why my procedure was cancelled and left it up to the poor nurse to tell me. She is simply an auto mechanic and should operate only on cars. My experience with her and the disease center was the worst of my life. Do not go there. They will let you die. I am furious at the way I was treated, the fact that both Dr.s left without notifying me and I was forced not only to starve, but also drink that awful bowel prep stuff for nothing. These are not professional people, nor do they have any compassion or empathy for their patients. I am furious and plan to take legal action against these unprofessional, non human people. read more

Beware if your insurance doesn't cover much for a colonoscopy. I had one done recently and the hospital charged my insurance for over $3000 plus office visit for one simple colonoscopy. dr. Kevin Ashby was professional but he wanted to give me an endoscopy in addition to the colonoscopy due to family history. I'm glad I didn't since I will be getting billed I think way over the usual colonoscopy charges. My last one definitely wasn't $3000 plus. Do not recommend this place unless you have the money to spare. read more
