Had a black-out living room last Saturday night. Called Safe Electric on Monday morning. The owner was able to show up in 1.5 hour and diagnosed the problems quickly. Habib was very professional, answered the phone immediately and was able to get to my house withing a few hours. Over the past few months, my outside breaker kept going off whenever I ran the dryer and I lost power in my entire house. A few days ago, it stopped working altogether. After arriving on site, Habib tested the wire going from my dryer to the fuse box, then to the outside breaker and determined the breaker itself had gone bad. Habib also very helpful and cleaned the area under the dryer while we had it pulled out and helped fix the exhaust vent tube so the lint wouldn't blow all over my garage floor. While he was here, I also had him fix an outside light that had never worked my HOA never got around to fixing on thier own. I needed a dedicated breaker for an over the range microwave oven. The previous owner didn't do that and just pushed the electrical cable through the wall and connect it to an electrical outlet. Since I was a first time homeowner, I had no idea that was a MUST: I found this out when the microwave oven no longer worked and so I bought a new one to replace. When the guy came to install it, he refused and said since it was not connected to a dedicated breaker, it was against code and he wouldn't connect it for me. So, I came to Yelp and searched for an electrician and that's where I found Safe Electric. Habib came to assess it and offered his services for the amount that I thought was very reasonable. He even offered to do it right there and then and since I had time and the price was reasonable, I went with it and I am glad: He was very professional. Offered input and feedback that was honest. eg. I asked if my circuit box is okay or should I upgrade it (one electrician said I should so I was asking for a 2nd opinion) and he said it was fine; save the money and do something else, etc. I thought that was honest and decent of him. He could have made something up to get the job too but he didn't and I really respect that. He also cleaned after himself; pointed out a couple of things he noticed that was going on with my dryer so that I can talk to a plumber and sort that out... a very nice, professional yet personable electrician, who I will definitely call him back for other electrical needs around my house later. I goggled Habib because I couldn't find his card in our messy drawers and was shocked to discover I haven't reviewed him. But seriously - you already are calling him right? all these reviews say the same thing. And it's true. Habib has never laughed out loud) about our 1920's bungalow and it's messed up electrical systems. He's been in twice to fix various things, upgrade parts of the house and just generally make things safer and newer. Now we're updating the kitchen and we're calling him again. Safe Electric came by to address an issue we were having with the cabling for one of our satellite dish boxes, which we had been experiencing for a few months, ever since switching from cable service. We had been going back and forth with customer service and tech support for our new satellite dish service, but to no avail. We had almost given up on the service. Luckily, we decided to have Safe Electric inspect the cabling to the box that was giving us trouble. Habib, the electrician, was methodical about troubleshooting the problem, and took the time to test things out at each step. He eventually resolved the problem, saving us time, money and future headaches dealing with our satellite dish company. Afterwards, we also had Habib install a new cable outlet, which he accomplished rather quickly. He also fixed a couple electrical outlets and a light switch that hadn't been working properly. He even suggested we switch out some of the light bulbs in our recessed kitchen lighting to more energy-efficient models. Had an issue with a loose breaker in panel by PG&E meter. I called in desperation at 3:30 today and he showed up at 4:30. He not only fixed my issue, but double checked all the wires and breakers were secure to each other, double checked my stove was working. He then saw the plug to my dryer wasn't in the dryer plug fat enough, he pushed it in further to find out the plug was worn and needed replaced. He replaced that too. I am SUCH a happy customer. I called another electrician first, and got voice mail saying they are scheduling the middle of December. Then thank God I called Habib, who was on his way to Fremont and fitted me in right away! I realize this isn't always possible but all I can say is, the other guy's voice mail wasn't going to make that effort, right? The ballast in my kitchen light was out. I had gotten an estimate from someone earlier to replace the ballast for $150, but I didn't like the company so didn't use them. Habib offered alternatives and understood when I chose the cheaper one, in which he actually converted the outmoded fluorescent light to an LED fixture - no ballast, low energy use, etc - for a total bill of $150. Yes, he basically built a new and better type of fixture for the same price another guy charges for replacing the old ballast. So I can't say enough. His rates are reasonable and transparent, and he did not charge us to diagnose the problem. Very good experience with Safe Electric. I called on Saturday early morning saying I want to install a dryer outlet and wanted to get a estimate. He said he would like to come to my house to do an accurate estimate, but he has an appointment that morning and will reply me later. He called me back on 11:30 am saying he is available on 12 pm. So we met and he gave me a reasonable price for the dryer outlet after inspection. Without quoting with other company, I decided to let him do the work. I am also moving at the same day, so I have to travel between my old place and the new place. Without any concern, I left him alone to do the work and it came out great! After 3 hours of hard working he called me saying it is finished. I quickly drive back and found he installed the outlet perfectly. He even kindly help me replace all broken outlet, clean up my attic and add in an attic door as extra. How nice he is! I work with a property management company out of Hayward and we received an urgent maintenance request from a property we manage in Newark that was having some electrical issues. The tenants informed us that they had a total of 3 outlets that were not working with no tripped breakers. I called Habib that same evening about the issue the tenants reported and he was able to go out to the property the next day. To make a long story short, there was some faulty wiring done from a previous job that Habib cleaned up and even improved. The tenant e-mailed me the next day thanking me (even though I cannot take any credit) and said that the electrical in the house is working even better than before where the lights would not dim when other things were in use. This is a long overdue review for Habib. We had just moved to a rental apartment in Sunnyvale and our landlords had been kind enough to allow us to install an electric car charging station for our vehicle. We approached electrician after electrician and each one kept giving us excuses for not taking up the job because it was too difficult (given the age of the building and the panel/wiring) or charging us amounts as outrageous as $3000 - $5000. I then came across Safe Electric and gave Habib a call. He asked me to take a picture of the electrical panel and send it across to him. Great work by Habib. Our house had no doorbell anymore so I bought a Nest Camera Doorbell to install. However, none of the so-called "Nest Pros" the manufacturer recommended would come to install it since there wasn't an existing bell and chime, so I had to call an electrician. Thankfully Habib not only found the wiring and confirmed it was powered but went ahead and installed the Nest for me. Luckily the wiring had enough voltage for the camera to work so he didn't have to do any extra work to up the power, so he even cut down the actual cost from his estimate. 5/22/18 Spoke, presumably with Habib about my home issue (flickering lights on one circuit). He was helpful in diagnosing my issue (since it was not the entire home, not an immediate emergency) and I can tell he is a professional. Unfortunately--at least at this writing--he was not doing panel upgrades (I have 1967 home and was interested in it), so he candidly told me he wasn't doing that level of work at the moment. Overall, I would call him again in the future if I have other electrical issues 5/23/18 I have to up the stars, although we've only be chatting. Habib followed up even though he is not doing panel work anymore and noted that my photos of my panel is more than adequate. My panel is in good shape already and has room for expansion. So, I really don't need a panel work! Basically, save me $$$$ on that. And, likely I can hire him now too... I believe Habib takes a Practical, Common Sense approach to his advice. Today Habib installed a recess ceiling light with an on/off switch in my kitchen. It seemed complicated, but he did a wonderful job. He also worked on some rewiring upstairs.
