Would not recommend Safelite Weslaco. Set appt, appt confirmed (via email and text) but when I arrived there was no record of my appt although I had a printed copy of my confirmation. Safelite rents one or two stalls in a Good Year location so there is no office other than the bays where the work is done. The young man on duty was covering from another location because those who worked at this Weslaco location did not show up for work. Had a morning appointment left our car there thinking it would only take 2 hours like the gentleman said. Ate nearby, shopped around Brownsville and came back around 12:30 still nothing was done. Finally after calling to see what was going on the window finally was done. I kid you not it felt like mins after we called and everyone showed back up to work that it was finished. I honestly feel like the workers just didn't want to work that morning and even went to lunch at a sit down restaurant not caring. People make early appointment for a reason. Needing to replace the windshield on my wife's 2021 Toyota Rav4 XLE I wasted a ton of time on the Safelite AutoGlass website to obtain a quote. I finally got the quote but at the bottom it stated that sensor calibration might be necessary and that is an additional cost....which the quote would not reveal. So I used the chat option to ask how much extra the calibration would cost, since the quote without the necessary sensor calibration is worthless. The chat agent instructed me to "save" the quote (which is did. I selected the save quote option on the website). The chat agent then wanted my full name, my email address and the year, make and model of the car (ALL of that information was included in the "saved" quote on their website INCLUDING the vehicles VIN #). Then the Chat agent also required MY TELEPHONE NUMBER. When I responded I didn't want to give my phone # and I did NOT want telephone calls the agent told me they couldn't help me without my phone number. So I told them to FORGET IT THEN! I later found in a web search that Safelite was charging AT LEAST $650 for a sensor recalibration. My Toyota DEALER was only going to charge me $750 for the whole thing. Safelite is a RIPOFF artist (and dishonest to boot). read more

set apt with Safelite for replacement of our rear glass on a jeep. initially, showed up fast, installer made install but in the process, the technician shattered the glass (it literally exploded). they kinda cleaned up the mess then said they would be back in a few days to replace.... now it's been one month and they continue to tell me weekly they have the glass and reschedule only to no-show and then follow up that they did not have the glass. - I call the local branch (956) 238-7757 and they do not answer the phone and as well, their voicemail is full. I escalated to the corporate satellite number and they said they can't find the glass... (yet I can buy all day long on Amazon). total clown show. can't tell if it's the local branch's poor customer service and business practices or if this is a reflection of satellite in total. what a disappointment. - Buyer beware. read more

On our way to South Padre Island, our front windshield had a rock chip. We called our insurance company to get it fixed, and they made an appointment for us with Satellite AutoGlass. The next morning, Santana contacted us, narrowed down the original 4-hour appointment window, then pulled up on time into our hotel parking lot. He was polite, efficient and finished the job within the hour. Our insurance took care of payment, so we didn't have to pay out of pocket. (FYI, the actual bill was $43 which we thought reasonable) The whole thing was dealt with quickly, with minimal disruption to our holiday schedule. I could feel the negative vibe from the moment I entered. Anyways I asked if they give a military discount like the one in McAllen does because I'm a veteran and they just laughed at me. I went online to get a quote for a cracked windshield for my chevy suburban. The online the quote for the windshield was for $159.99. On further reading it stated that if I wanted a tech. to come by my residence and do the work it would an additional $39.99. So, I drove down to the store thinking that the total I would end up paying would be around $200.00 or slightly over. I figured 159.99 plus taxes and any miscellaneous items they use. On arriving the individual was in the managers office talking away. He then comes out asks me what I needed. I proceed to tell him what I needed and in a rude manner he tells me "he'll be with me in a minute". Finally, when he's good and done in the office he comes to his desk and gives me a quote. The quote was over $300.00. I explain to him that I was just on their website and the quote was for 159.99. Well, he then tells me that on his computer the price of the windshield was for 209.00 plus labor and taxes. I then asked him how much was the labor and he said $50.00. Well, 209 plus 50 still is only 259. During our intense conversation, the other individual that was in the office steps out and asks what was going on. At that point, I pull out my cell phone and I went to their website and showed BOTH of them the price of the windshield was for 159.99. I advised the second individual that my quote was over 300.00 bucks at the desk. That individual then tells me that the 159.99 was a discount price on the website. ( Hold on ladies and gentlemen. Isn't this website there's?) Needless to say I could see they were not interested in honoring or helping this customer. So, be careful with this company here in Brownsville, Texas. I made an appointment to have my windshield replaced. When I first arrived the guy behind the counter had no customer service skills. I left my vehicle there and 30 minutes later they called me and told me that the installer had cracked the replacement windshield and that they did not have any other windshield in stock. I was told to come pick up my vehicle. As I picked up my keys the guy behind the counter never told me if they were going to order a new windshield, he just handed me the keys and turned his back to me. Very disappointed. In preparing for a road trip, I had Safelite out today to replace my windshield and wipers. There's been a lot of rain throughout Texas recently, and to be honest, the wipers were more critical than the glass. So of course, right before the guy leaves, he informs my husband that he doesn't have the right wipers for my car. What? I should have been told that upfront. Very obvious that they have been formally trained and the product is as good as factory or better. Quick, polite, and high quality... What else can I consumer asked for? I've had windshield replacements at fly-by-night joints and seen waves and bubbles and other imperfections in the glass. We have used Safelite for years in various states. We have used this particular Safelite twice before with decent success, but today's chip fix was done horribly!! It was a complete C R A P job! 5 miles down the road and the "fix" was ALREADY STARTING TO RUN! You could still very much FEEL the chip on the outside! So we took it back..........we were told there was NOTHING they could do, but we could call our insurance company, which we did!! We told them to NOT PAY for the crap job! Our insurance company called another company, got us in right away! They agreed with us......that the job Safelite did was very inferior, and NOT done properly! Our windshield is now fixed........you can't even see it or FEEL IT ANYMORE! Living in southern Texas it's only a matter of time before we get another chip..........WE WON'T WE GOING BACK TO SAFELITE EVER AGAIN!!! read more

Called the next week, gave us an appointment and they said its available the next day. Went there for the said appointment only to find out that they don't have the windshield available yet. Called last Friday to get replacement windshield and was told next Thursday was the soonest they could come. Gave them all the info they asked for at the time. Year make and model plus other options they asked for. Received a call today (Tuesday before the appt) that they needed the VIN and was then told it was a special glass and it would be at least at least a week more. I have had my windshield replaced 5 times at this safelite store. I drive 100 miles a day on the expresswzy, so annual replacements are a necessity. This time, my windshield whistles horribly at speeds beyond 60 mph. The last one did this for a few days and quit. I hope this one quits. I do not want to have to go back there. The manager told me that they did not replace the previous windshield because "they do not use this brand of glass". I assured him they did. I think he was trying to avoid regluing the trim by blaming it on someone else. Not a good experience. read more

This is by far the worst Safelite store. Repairmen showed up with not enough equipment to repair the windshield, so had to reschedule with another repairman (waste of my time). The repair was not done well at all! Took truck to store to discuss the issue. The so called "Customer Advocate" was no advocate for the customer, but an advocate to put more money in the business' banking account. They charge me for the repair that was done incorrectly and then want to charge me more money to replace the windshield. Be worn of the scam! Go somewhere else! Waste of my money and time! read more

When I agreed to purchase the windshield you did not tell me that I would also have to make an appointment with the dealer to reconnect my lane warning, front crash warning devices on my car. The rep was very careful to make sure she ordered the correct windshield but never said anything about having to also take it to the dealer. If Safelite does not have the expertise or equipment to completely install the windshield so the car functions as it did with the original windshield you need to at least advise the customer. If I had know I will also have to take time off from work to take my car to the dealer because Safelite could not do the work, I would have purchased the windshield from the dealer. read more
