Service guy Kevin came by and pulled up and saw my clean Toyota tundra 2007 and said "your truck is old and window is original. It will need to be towed to shop if I find Rust" Truck has no rust and just to prove to everyone, my toyota dealer mechanic guy ask me if I could sell him the truck, that's how clean it is. Not the best way to start the day, so not sure why Kevin would say that. I had my son stand there the whole time watching him after he said he would call me if he needs me. Update! I Had my appointment this morning with Safelite in Salinas at 8am. Maurilio (technician) said it would be about 45 minutes, it took 15 minutes tops! The windshield was intact perfectly, it was the rubber seal that needed a little extra gluing. Maurilio said if I had any other issues to please bring it back, he'll take care of it. I usually never write reviews but I just have tell let people know how bad work they do at this place. They didn't put the parts back when they repaired the windshield. When I called for help they came and said they were going to order the parts and never came back. There is water leakage inside my car and still missing parts. I called to tell them about the issues and said they can't do anything about it even tho they never came back. I called the main number for Safelite and all I had to tell them was "windshield wipers" and as soon as they heard that, the apologies flowed. I was instructed to take it back into the shop, where they summarily fixed the problem but without one word of apology from the guys who actually were the reason for the problem. Two words..."I'm sorry" go a long way when you have to go out of your way and go back into the shop a second time for them to get it right. Seeing as that's all they do, windshields, you'd think they could get it right the first time. And if they didn't, the guys at the shop need to apologize. Won't ever use them again. read more

I called and informed the company of an issue with a replacement windshield that they performed 5 months prior. Safelite couldn't locate the replacement work order information. I finally got the information a few weeks later and they made me an appointment for replacement several weeks out due to appointment delay. I received an email confirmation for replacement at the shop. When I arrived I was told that the warranty is not Lifetime and is only for 30 days from installation. Why would the company people make an appointment and send out email confirmation for the warranty replacement?? But the shop which is part of the company not know what work is set up in advance. I had my vehicle serviced today. All that went well. This afternoon as I arrived home I noticed a hood strut on my passenger seat and it was bent. The tech made no mention about it when we spoke. I called the shop and I was upset about it. The woman I spoke with put me on hold, called the tech and came back to me saying," the tech said you do your own work on the car". The tech doesn't know me! I never told him I do my own repair work for him to tell her that! The tech called me and said he found it laying in the cowl and had to use a stick to prop my hood. If that was the case, he should've brought it to my attention and given me a by the way you have a broken lift support. I had a rock hit my windshield on the freeway by the time I managed to get off the road and park it went from being a pretty good sized chip with splintering it had cracked . Too large for a repair so went with replacement (scheduled online) they came to my home to do the work. The girl who came was from the San Jose area as the local Salinas shop was overbooked, that is fantastic customer service in my book, they didn't call and try to reschedule they got it done. Arrived early (called ahead to make sure it was ok) and finished very quickly and I got the new wipers. The technician was pleasant. It took them about 8 hours to repair a back window. I guess it does the technician tells you, "Yeah, I had your window in and getting ready to put the seats in but I was given another automobile to fix. It could have been ready in approximately 2 hours, instead it was just sitting in the bay. To me that is poor time management. We were under the impression from an email, the process would take 1-2 hours. We were called the night prior to taking it in that is could be an all day process. I could not cancel at this point, as I need the truck for work. We had to stay in the area, due to the travel time from our home to Salinas. We had an appointment at 7:00 am and the truck was finished at 3:00 pm. 8 hours, when the job could have taken 1-2 hours. We sat in the parking lot for over an hour watching nothing being done to the vehicle. Frustrating. read more

But more than that, the technician, Maurilio Delacruz saw that I had a scrape on the side of my car that I had done, and he cleaned it up on his own initiative. Alex was our technician, he was fast, courteous, & knowledgeable. I called the 800 number to schedule, we received a free estimate, & they were able to come to king city to provide a mobile repair which saved me a day of driving to Salinas which is about 45 min away. Excellent service, pricing was less than I was quoted locally. They were also able to schedule my appointment same week, I believe it was 2 days after I called when they came out to replace my windshield. Safelite scheduled an appointment two weeks out for in shop repairs and sent me several messages asking me to make sure I arrived early for installation. I had my slider window fixed in the back of my truck. The lady at the front desk was short and rude I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and I ended up getting my truck back and they fixed the window glass but somehow broke my power slider that opens it by button. The Lady tells me when I go to pick up the vehicle I think she's the assistant manager too you know the back window doesn't work. What are you talking about the back window doesn't work I said it's a new truck it was working when I dropped it off it's just a glass is cracked but I don't know what to tell you it doesn't work she says well then can you fix it is my question? The vehicle is not even 2 years old at this point you think I'd want all the buttons to work still especially when they worked when I brought it in. I had to make I had to wait over a month and then make a second appointment and then once I dropped it off it was just a mess. When I picked up the vehicle I asked if I was going to be charged or anything in the guy said no no charge they've already took care of everything and he gave me my keys. A few weeks later I see a charge on my credit card for $100 that I did not approve. I disputed the charge with my credit card company and they agreed with me and credited me the money back. I believe it's the assistant manager lady reviewed the bill and decided to get a little bit of money for the company and then charged my card that was on file without letting me know what the price would be first. I already paid through my insurance and had covered almost the entire deductible so it should have been part of that. I would definitely find a different company to go to I will not use this company again especially not in Salinas read more

After rescheduling the appointment for a couple days later, it was rescheduled to the next week via a text message on the night before the repair was to take place. A technician was sent out to inspect it never heard any follow up after it was stated part would be ordered. Contacted safelite 6 weeks later and sent another technician out no follow up at all. Contacted safelite customer service because my calls were being avoided ( manager Candle) and was told they were not covering my window trim. I feel cheated out of my money part is over 300 hundred dollars. They didn't even have the common decency to give me a call or follow up on my claim. Appointment between 1-5pm arrived at 5:01to replace window in the dark... Could get the cracked window out after 2 hours of hammering, pulling and scratching up my paint. Finally just decided to smash the window covering my garage, driveway and interior with Brocken glasss including glass fragments in my air vents. What he did "clean" was dusted off scratching my paint and plastics. After spending 2 hours attempting to clean up his mess in the daytime and assessing damage I got to witness a stream of water flowing over my driver seat from the window. About a month ago I had a small rock chip that turned into a 3-4 ft crack while driving home (could feel it on both sides). So the insurance referred me to this location (took a few weeks but it Safelite's fault). Wow, was I impressed with their service. A job like this on a new car usually takes 4 hours, but their head technician had it done in two hours for removal, replacement, and calibration of safety devices. Apparently he has won competitions in this field too. Prices vary but most insurances will cover up to a deductible. There was no issue with pricing with this team. Highly recommended. read more

I have dealt with this location on 4 different occasions. All of which were bad experiences. First I took one of my vehicles for "repair" of a chip in my windshield. 4 months later there is a huge crack from the "repaired chip". Now I have to pay my deductible again to have the windshield replaced. When I made the appointment they were aware of the vehicle make and model. The technician arrives for the appointment and states that he cannot do the replacement that the vehicle would have to be taken to the dealership to have error codes cleared, at my cost, before trust can do the work. Technician states that this is always the case with these vehicles. Now that all the work has been done and the deductible was paid as I can see it on my bank statement they are calling me trying to get my card info over the phone stating that it was not paid! Shady. They also put the windshield wipers back on backwards on my other vehicle when replacing the windshield so that my wiper flew off going down the freeway in pouring rain. Save yourself the headache and take your business somewhere else. read more

Not sure what all the bad reviews are about because I had a GREAT experience here. The man at the desk was so kind when I walked in, checked me in, told me all the details I needed before the service, gave me the wifi to make sure I could do some work while I waited, and let me know there was water and coffee and restrooms if I needed. Then the tech who did the service replaced my windshield and recalibrated the sensors on my Toyota within an hour. Once it was done, he showed me his work to make sure I was pleased, emailed me certificates, let me know about their warranty, and let me pay right there. Highly recommend this place! Worst customers service I've ever experienced. They were listed as one of the insurance backed shops so that's why I chose them. Windshield was not in stock but would be sent from their Sacramento branch so they scheduled install the weekend after it would arrive. They called the before my appointment and said it hadn't arrived. It took another 2 weeks to arrive. Finally got it installed but then I noticed they broke the trim piece inside and didn't say anything. I called them about it, they said they would order a new piece and call me when it arrived. They got the piece and scheduled the install. I show up and for install and they go to install it but they ordered the wrong side. It's been 2 months never get any callback when I call to get an update. The couple times I been there there has been customers with issues with their install, ie dirty headliner that they stained, broken clips, etc I called Honda about the part. It's a $15 trim and is available in about 1 week. I been dealing with the assistant manager Candle. She Is lame. read more

Recently my Kia Niro EV had its windshield hit by an unknown object. I went to the Salinas, California "Safelite" service center to have it fixed. It was originally scheduled to take 2.5-3hours to complete, including sensor realignment. Given I had arrived at 6:30am, and was tired, I had only been asleep for 1.5 hours, I was told that the EV was done. I was amazed and very, very happy with the results. The master technician, Maurilio Delacruz, did a fantastic job. I am very impressed with his work. I hope Santa has something extra for his stocking this year, he definitely deserves it. Called customer care and they had their district manager call me. She did and left a message. I called back and she never called me back. They ruined my car, wasted my time, lied to me, and they are horrible! My car is still broken!! I was going on a camping trip. At 8 AM in the morning a rock hit my windshield, but I was part of a group so I was not able to leave for two weeks. My husband called Safelite and they said they could not come and fix the windshield and that I had to go to Salinas. They had two weeks to make sure they had a replacement windshield. I had to wait over the weekend and pay for a hotel until they opened. They worked on my car for over four hours and said I had to completely unload my car because they couldn't calibrate it and they thought it was the weight. I then proceeded to have to reload my car when they said they still couldn't get things calibrated. I told them I had a 12 Hour drive home. I needed to be sure that the cruise control worked because I injured my right foot while camping. Not only did nobody help me load or unload my car, but they lied to me and told me that the cruise control would still work and it did not. We had to take the car to another Safelite in Prescott Arizona. They proceeded to say they can't fix it because it was so totally incorrectly installed. It was not salvageable. They then had to order another windshield. I'm still waiting for my cruise control. I have now gone over 2000 miles of driving with no cruise control and no windshield in sight. Every time I drive to Prescott it's two hours of driving at my cost. Working with Safelite has been a completely miserable experience and I hope to never use them again. No value whatsoever!!!! But don't give in like I did, you'll end up wasting more time trying to get them to finish the job than the time it would have taken to find a reputable business. Very impressed. We picked up a rock a couple weeks ago, and the crack spread until it was pretty large. Fortunately, our car insurance with Farmer's makes windshield replacement really easy, especially compared to our former AAA insurance that applied the full deductible to it. Good thing... with all the safety tech built into cars nowadays, much of it is mounted on the windshield in front of the rear-view mirror, and it needs to be carefully set up and re-calibrated after the glass replacement. Google "ADAS recalibration" if you're curious. I had no idea windshields had gotten so high-tech! Farmer's sends you direct to Safelite's website. Safelite is reputable and has a national warranty so I went with them. Importantly, they have the equipment to recalibrate the safety tech, which your shade-tree window-replacement guy can't do from your driveway. This is not a cheap process, and the total bill to my insurance process was more than three times what I'd paid some years ago for two other windshield replacements... without all the tech. The process was estimated to take two hours and that was about right. There's a nice deli across the street, so it was no hardship to wait. The people were helpful, informative and friendly. Communications is excellent, with text updates and a web page that lets you track your repair in real time. Recommended! read more
