Diesel fuel is so sketchy in California, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, New York, Pennsylvania and Texas as it is - I don't want to drive around with the worst of the worst. My hot take on it is that these are states where the EPA took over... and so the fuel itself is worse for your vehicle in these states and better for the environment.

When I discover a classy establishment that impress' me I pay it forward. Hence, my latest review. Anyway, this Shell station operates 24/7 and sleep patterns vary it's perfect for me. The team at this location is outstanding. The normal graveyard shift has Craig and Author. These two guys are super friendly yet professional. The store is fully stocked including beer and wine, candy, sandwiches, etc. The station manager, Kim, needs to recognize those two employees personally less they become dissatisfied and move to, say to the Safeway complex down the street. However, in talking with them these last few months they seemed pretty happy there. I've never worked graveyard except years ago in Ashland, Oregon (Safeway). Believe me, it's not an easy shift. You leave your car on and put it in neutral while the conveyor moves you through the wash. A few minutes later, my car came out shiny and clean, and another kind employee dried it off for me. They also have complimentary vacuum stations available if needed. Individual washes range from $8-$18, and they offer monthly plans ranging from $25-$55, which seems like an excellent deal if you wash your car regularly. After my car came through the wash, I was directed to the finishing area where an employee was supposed to apply the tire shine. Instead, the employee simply walked away and left. No explanation. No replacement. No one stepped in to finish the job. So I just sat there wondering if someone was coming. After waiting and looking around, it became obvious that nobody had any idea I was still waiting. At that point I had to either continue wasting my time or leave without receiving the full service I paid for. How does a business not have someone available to cover when an employee leaves their station? If someone needs a break or their shift ends, that's understandable, but customers shouldn't be left sitting there with an unfinished service because no one is assigned to take over. It wasn't about the tire shine itself. It was about the complete lack of communication and accountability. A simple "Someone else will be with you shortly" would have made all the difference. For a business that advertises attention to detail, this was a disappointing experience. I expected better.
