We've come at various days & times, but haven't encountered lines. Lanes are spacious. It's still a relatively newer location, so everything is in good working order. An express market is conveniently located here as well. It's been beneficial to use our Safeway shopping points to offset gas costs.

I have been living in this part of Roseville since we moved from the South Bay in 2001 and we finally have a grocery store nearby. Up to this point our closest grocery store was Raley's on Woodcreek Oaks. I am excited over this new Safeway location (just across CVS)... it is convenient for quick grocery shopping. They just opened a month ago in March 2025 and it seems to be always busy when I pass by on Pleasant Grove... my first time shopping inside was for their $5 Friday deals. They ran out quickly of the item I wanted and waited 15 mins for a fresh batch of fried chicken. Next time I'll stop by at another less busy Safeway for these deals (I have two other locations to choose from coming home from work). There are plenty friendly workers to assist. Next to an in-house Starbucks kiosk is a seating area. The bathrooms are also located here. This Safeway has a connecting fuel station. Review #3750

First, the parking lot is sooo much easier to navigate. Whoever designed the layout of this lot should be commended! Second, the automatic car wash is absolutely phenomenal when compared to other automated car washes. The price is fair when compared as well. Lastly, I appreciate the self checkout aisles, which weren't overly busy when I visited. Overall, this place is great and we will definitely be back!

Adj: Newest and Nicest Costco for Now…read more So this is a very new (less than half year old) Costco in Sac metro, although it's technically in Placer County since it's in Roseville, it's still within our region. So we came to check things out enroute to Roseville Galleria and this Costco did not disappoint. First, it's big, lots of parking spots and not hard to find one. It is almost like a "campus," with a car wash and not just an extra big gas station with many pumps. So that was a good feature if you needed/wanted a car wash for less than $10, really can't be beat these days. Then, it's the newer layout that all the newly built Costco have now w/entrance on the left and exit on the right side, somehow that seems to help the flow better and lessen congestion right at the front covered porch area to the entrance. Another thing is there were many sampling stations which my kids really like haha... another thing not seen in some of the more established Costco's further south of Sac. I also noticed merchandise sold here not seen in my more frequented locations. Landscape fountains/decors, certain clothing and shoes, and there were also more varieties of take-to-go trays of food in the cold deli section like more variety of sushi and sashimi trays. The layout of the optical dept is also the newer format with stations where customers can work with opticians one-on-one at individual desks instead of all of us having to crowd around the one circular station, it just a much better flow for looking at and choosing the glasses at the perimeter walls and then being able to come back to 1 station where the optician will meet with you and affords more privacy for the interaction (even if eye/vision convo's usually aren't all that confidential). Overall, a great new location, kind of far from me, but when I'm out this way, I'll definitely stop by for some productive shopping without the stress of overly busy parking lots and overwhelming crowds at the locations in South Sac/Elk Grove.

One of my least favorite things to do is having to fill my tank up with gas. Unless you're the less…read morethan 5% of the population that drives an electric vehicle, then the majority of us find ourselves having to cope with inflated fuel prices; especially in the State of California. This is where "Safeway Fuel Station" comes to mind. The location I am focusing on is adjacent to the Safeway directly at the corner of Dewey Dr. and Madison Ave. in Fair Oaks. The main reason why I keep coming back here is that their prices are actually quite reasonable. And when I say reasonable, I mean they are just a few cents higher than Costco (in Citrus Heights) which can lead to much longer wait times. Additionally, this fuel station has very generous hours of operation being open for business 7 days a week from 5am-11pm. I do want to point out that if you pay with cash or use your debit card, prices are generally 10¢ lower than credit. And this applies to regular, plus, and premium. Furthermore, this fuel station also has pumps for diesel fuel. What I noticed in early-2023 is that they did a complete upgrade on their gas pumps and machines making it much easier to read. If you are a Safeway club member and do your fair share of shopping there, you are eligible for gas reward discounts. However, this is if you spend a LOT there meaning every $1000 spent gets you a 10¢ discount on your fuel. At least that is what I notice. Aside from that, this fuel station is never that busy and there are two different ways to enter/exit; through Madison Ave. or on Dewey Dr. With that said and done, I am being generous and giving the "Safeway Fuel Station" an above average four star rating. Prices are reasonable and usually fairly comparable to the other fuel station, "Kwik Serv" across the street. So to many that are on a budget and don't wish to spend more at Shell, Chevron, or 76, give this place a try.

They have a retail Shell station onsite that sells standard gasoline products with a commercial side for specialty fuels, including racing fuels as well. There is no convenience store onsite, but it is cheap and fast - especially when visiting Raley Field or the new River Road Bridge to Southport. It's also the only hydrogen station in Northern California.
