Everytime I walk into Safeway on 148th I feel immediately uncomfortable. Not to mention their rudeness, lack kf knowing where anything is, and dont know jow to smile. Instead, they avoid, stalk, hover, seldom even smile. The worst part is leaving. I am made to feel unwelcome for one, then observed. I fear a piece of tape is stuck to my shoe; lest I be football tackled for " looking like" I am a thief. Not. Oh...the parking lot? Disgusting. The homeless people dont bother me directly. This Safeway keeps the items I love in-stock. My favs... 818 tequila, Gloria's Margarita Mix Strawberry, Sour Cream Ruffles, Cheddar Ruffles and Reeses sticks bundaberg DIET ginger beer... and I can get a large cup of ice on my way out the door. read more

My boyfriend came in last week and bought ice cream out of the locked area. He was able to continue shopping. I came in tonight (wearing my contractor clothes) and this fella told me "he had to take it" and I presume track him down after I was done shopping to collect said ice cream. Absolutely insane, not only do I feel discriminated against due to having some paint on my pants, but as a local who regularly shops here for a few quick items - never again. Dropped everything I had and walked out. Trekked over to the non-ghetto and respectful Safeway in Mukilteo and was able to get everything I needed without feeling disrespected due to wearing my work clothes. They also don't lock up freaking ice cream. Ridiculous. Get security guards, I already put my life into the Lords hands by shopping here, luckily this fine fella taught me tonight to no longer do that! Hope you guys really feel the pain of locals not wanting to shop here due to inconsistent, discriminatory practice. Everyone at this Safeway has always been very helpful at answering any questions or comments we have. The store is clean, anything we get from the deli is fresh, and the service there is always very good even when they are slammed and busy. The fruits and veggies are well stocked and fresh. Initially, I visited this Safeway location to use one of the self service machine's in the lobby, after using the machine I decided to check out the bakery and get some dessert for the evening. The dessert section was very large, with an enormous selection of things to choose from. I had a question about something I was trying to find, so I asked a staff member and they were very helpful and and answered my question. This is a very good Safeway location. read more

This place has been going down hill for some time. They never have a cashier and expect you to check yourself out when you have a large cart full. Its funny how you can go down the street to 1 of the other 2 safeway's and they always have at least 1 cashier. taking my 10s of thousands of yearly groceries purchases to another location. This is the closest grocery store to my home, but if I have the extra time I will drive to the one on 99 and 196th. There is a big difference between these 2 Safeway locations. I like to buy their salads for lunch and at the 148th store the lettuce is often brown. I them drive to the 196th store and a salad with the same expiration date is fine. The produce is much better at 196th as well, plus there are a lot more drug addicts hanging out at 148th (which I guess isn't their problem), but it makes me uneasy going there, especially after dark. read more

Extremely filthy store and selling expired food. Review my photos for yourself. What a complete disgrace to all groceries. I've never seen a bathroom so filthy. There was no toilet paper, no paper towels to dry my hands, no toilet sanitary covers, trash was full to the brim, drug addict needles on the top of the trash, heroin I'm presuming next to it, someone's lunch on the floor.... As everyone as said, I have checked my food multiple times here and yes I've found it to be several MONTHS past expiration date... makes me more than irritated when I've discovered this after buying it. read more

We have shopped here for the last couple of years, but the number of homeless that just steal stuff and leave. It makes you feel unsafe to go there. I tried to grin and bear it but when I had my wife to run in and pickup her medications, I had two people walk up to my car and ask me for money and cigarettes, was the last straw. I would not have liked the situation reversed with my wife in the car. We moved our prescriptions to another store, and we do not go there anymore. I agree with one of the reviews I saw, management needs to get some security and fire up their staff. My vote is no, I will not go to this Safeway ever even though it is the closest. Be wary. Tons of people who appear to be inebriated wander around the property. Watch your vehicle closely as it may get broken into while you are paying for your Cheerios. Mask enforcement is minimal. I've seen people in the store without the mask on and the employees don't do anything about it. Perhaps their hands are tied. I see people who are obviously stealing and who seem to have carte blanche to do so. Again, the laws are stacked against the business owner but more security might dissuade the would-be thieves. Pet dogs are allowed in the store, even allowed to be put into the shopping cart while the owner shops for groceries. I am aware that they cannot ask if a dog is a service animal but come on, a service dog is supposed to do for the owner what they cannot do for themselves. And pit bulls? Pit bulls are NEVER used as service dogs. EVER. ANYWHERE. read more

This is the worst grocery store I've ever walked inside of. The look of it is fine and it's always clean so no issues there, but the staff are a HUGE problem. Every time I've come in I end up feeling bad for making the employees have to do their job; which is very unwelcoming. Recently I had an issue I needed to get resolved which I was a bit embarrassed by before I had even gone in. I tried to be as private as possible about it but was given loud responses and a lot of attitude in return. It was a little humiliating to say the least, as now my issue was the whole store's issue. Bakery is not good. I bought the cheese and olive foccacia bread and it's not that type of bread they used French bread dough or similar and white was not cooked all the way. Gross! I also bought 2 chocolate éclairs and the filling was lumpy not smooth and tasted different. No more baked goods here! read more

5 stars for the bakery! :D They're one of the few bakeries around that does photo cakes for a very affordable price! I ordered one for my pug's 1st birthday and it was such a great deal for only $20. The bakery staff is extremely helpful and did a beautiful job decorating the cake. It was exactly what I wanted. 4 stars for the Starbucks inside the store! :) I've found the cutest tumblers here that I haven't seen in any other Starbucks. They've made great gifts for my friends & family. 2 stars for the store. :( I got sick from the pre-made chicken parmesan in the deli which was just an awful experience. The lines are also very long, as there's always only 2 cashiers working (even at peak hours!). No one is ever working the floor to answer questions about where to find items. I had a coupon from newspaper cutting that i wanted to use. At checking counter the coupon did not apply properly and i noticed that only after i got out of the store. When i returned there staff was very cooperative to resolve the matter and they adjusted the overpayment. read more

Small but had just what I needed! I was on my way back from Mukilteo on a quick outing to leave a gift on a doorstep of a friend having a quarantined birthday. I was in search of a specific item and stopped at 2 other grocery stores on 99 that did not have what I was looking for. Well the third stop was the charm! I was able to get what I needed and checkout in 5 minutes. The people working here were friendly and helpful and this Safeway location had a good vibe. I'll make sure to stop in here for groceries the next time I find myself in this area. read more

More often then not this place is scraping the barrel of staff aka customer happiness is VERY low across the board with most I speak to. Long lines in the evenings, most everyone in self-checkout just in the hope of getting out faster. Slow check lines, poor service. This is by far the worst Safeway location. The cashiers are incompetent. When I asked for a manager so I could be rung up, the manager, Nick, was so rude and I still was unable to be checked out. They do not have the self checkouts open at 8:00 am so finding a cashier was my only option. Nick walked away and I had to leave the store without groceries because the cashier could not figure out how to do her job. I cannot blame the cashier when the person who should be leading by example simply runs away upstairs to avoid having to actually work. It's a shame I could not buy groceries because of the the lack of leadership. I recommend shopping elsewhere. read more

I'm giving it a 4star because as a rule my experiences have gone well here and some of the employees have gone above and beyond in the service department. BUT I stopped for gas today and on pump #4 there was a securely taped sticker. Used to come here a lot as my first apartment was down the street. Came recently on a trip home and was very impressed. I found a beautiful flower arrangement for my father's grave (under $20) and lots of great sales. The store is clean, well laid out and employees are friendly. Gas is cheap at the pump in the parking lot. read more

I've only been here a few times in the last couple years. Each time I'm reminded why I never go there. Once, while pregnant, I slipped and nearly fell on a puddle in an aisle. And out of those three times I went, I waited over 15 minutes in line to check out. They're understaffed, and ignored requests (or didn't respond) to customers requesting a second cashier. Plus they ring people up with the speed of a slug and aren't super friendly. read more

We have recently moved to this area and have given this Safeway location more than 3 chances... The staff is horrible. And, last night was the final straw... Safeway, you FAIL! If zero stars were an option, believe me that is what this location would receive. Last night, I was having problems finding an item and with my SAFEWAY JUST FOR YOU APP, usually you can tell the cashier and show them and they would assist you. Last night, the man in the black vest, whom I assumed was some sort of management berated me in line and told me that "this happened last time with you" and continued to do so while talking down to me in front of another customer when honestly, this was only the 3rd time I've step foot in this location. Another customer in the parking lot commented on how rude this guy was to me and told me everyone has a boss and there is another level above him, and to contact corporate. You can never find anyone to help you. If you ask for assistance, it is at least a 20 minutes wait. If you as for a manager, they want to know what the problem is and will not call for one. There is not help as in "let me show you or direct you to where the items would be". Honestly, I've never experienced such bad customer service in any grocery store. And, Don't even get me started on this Starbucks kiosk... I'm more than happy to take my business else where. read more

Went to the deli to get a sandwich...asked for mine to be on Sourdough. The woman behind the counter looked at me as if I was being rude and said..."I don't have sourdough" Well, excuse me you crazy ass whackjob. I didn't know that that shit was my fault. Anyways... The grocery store is nicely updated. The checkers are quick and courteous. Unfortunately, the crazy deli lady needs to have a rubber band flicked at her forehead. Safeway PHARMACY REVIEW ONLY: I had just come out of surgery, was in a lot of pain and just wanted to get my pain meds. The women who work behind the counter must not care about their job AT ALL. They have no idea how to greet customers and spoke to me in a flat, uncaring tone. After handing them my prescription I was told it would be 45 minutes. 45 minutes for 10 PAIN PILLS. That is absolutely ridiculous. When I worked at a pharmacy, we ALWAYS put the pain meds ahead of any medications that weren't immediately required. When people are in pain, you don't make them wait. If the pharmacy can work a little more efficiently and learn to be nicer to their customers, I may consider going back but for now - NO THANKS! read more

The Safeway on 99 in Lynnwood - technically in the unincorporated area - is not one of the better Safeways in the region, but its location makes it very convenient for the local neighborhood. They have a gas station with cheap gasoline and diesel, and they stock most of the same items found at other stores. The smaller footprint of this store makes it more difficult to find some more specialty items, and it can be a little claustrophobic. With other options available in the area, it is hard to justify going out of your way, but this Safeway has the basics and good hours for those necessities. read more

This has been my primary grocery store for the last 10 years. Several of the pharmacy staff know my name - they get my things out before I say my name. There are a few checkers I see often that are very friendly. I find what I need. I love the gas station. I don't have much to complain about here. read more

I come here almost everyday to get my fruit. I am a big fan when it comes to fresh watermelon and strawberries and they tend to always have a good supply. The one thing that sucks about this place is that the grapes are never good. Sometimes I get luck but most of the time I don't. Great deals all the time and very close to my home so convenient!
