In short You probably know what FM is like--you can run half a dozen different errands under one roof, and their sales can range up to incredible deals if you get lucky. In long They're kinda all the same to some extent. I think the nursery at this one is on the smaller side. If you don't know, FM has groceries, basic clothes, car parts, nursery, and a bunch of other housewares stuff, including furniture. There aren't too many stores anymore that have all these different departments in one place. Over the years, I've found some crazy bargains on clothes, car parts, plants, and housewares at various FMs. You have to actually go inside and look for stuff on clearance, but sometimes it's there. As weird and crowded as these stores sometimes are, when you pinch pennies on this or that, they come in handy. I've been using this particular location for groceries. Since the pandemic lockdown, I've been picking up curbside. Unless I'm picking out meat and produce, it's so much faster and easier this way. I dunno why I resisted it for so long. Same prices, no delivery fees, and you always know what you're getting and paying. Yesterday I found some sparkling water for $2.50 for a box of 8, so loaded up on that and a few other things. The kids bringing out your stuff are always friendly and you never have to wait long. FM is now owned by a national chain headquartered somewhere else, so I don't have that PNW-company vibe anymore when I shop here. But their prices can still be very good, so I'll send them some business even if I'm no longer supporting local. read more

Buyer Beware -- Fred Meyer Jewelers Misled Us and Failed to Stand Behind Their Product After 34 years of marriage, my wife and I decided to replace our wedding rings -- a meaningful, once-in-a-lifetime purchase. We went to Fred Meyer Jewelers, thinking we were buying from a reputable company that would value our loyalty and our story. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a huge mistake. We were sold a lab-grown diamond and told there was "no difference" between it and a natural diamond. They also convinced us to purchase the lifetime warranty -- which requires periodic inspections and cleanings to stay valid. Three months later, when I brought the ring in for an appraisal, they offered to clean it (per the warranty). When I got it back, the ring looked completely different -- the finish had been buffed off and the appearance was ruined. That's when the real problems began. The store manager then informed me that they couldn't work on my ring in-store because it contained a lab-grown diamond, and that it would have to be sent back to the factory for any service -- taking 4 to 6 weeks each time. My wife and I travel frequently for business, so being without my wedding ring for over a month every year just to keep the warranty valid was completely unreasonable. Had I been told this upfront, I would never have purchased a lab-grown diamond. I asked the manager to have the district manager contact me to discuss possible solutions. Despite spending over $15,000 in their store, no one ever called, emailed, or texted me back. That kind of disregard for a long-time customer is simply unacceptable. I offered two fair options: 1 Let me return the ring and I'd buy another elsewhere, or 2 Apply the value of the lab-grown diamond toward a natural diamond at cost, and I'd pay the difference. Instead, they dragged their feet past the exchange period and then told me flat out that they weren't going to do anything. In other words: they sold me a ring they can't even service, sold me a warranty they can't honor, and then left me hanging. Buyer beware when shopping at Fred Meyer Jewelers -- especially during their so-called "Fine Jewelry Days." Don't be fooled by the friendly sales pitch or the lifetime warranty promise. SUN APRIL 21, 2024 325 PM - I had such a bad afternoon shopping here at Fred Meyer. First I shopped for the whole time with a small shopping cart with a bad squeaky wheel. Next, I checked out my groceries with the help of the slowest and most sluggish elderly lady cashier I ever met named Raeanne. I waited for 17 minutes for all the check out to be done before I finally walked out the door to my car. Customer service said they don't issue rain check until the last day of sale. The U-scan cahser said they dont issue rain check on meat. It seems that the store employee creat their own rain check rule. It seems the store does not intend to honor the sale. It advertised the sale to make you come in, however, when the item ran out. They dont have intentions of making the customer happy to honor the price.. the store prefers to damage the environment make you drive to store mutiple times if you want the sale price. This has been our Fred Meyers for the past 3 years and we love this location. It's definitely not the biggest but i think that helps with it not being extremely packed. The staff is super friendly and has taken the time to get to know us (our service dog definitely helps with that.) other than that they have the best deals, always stacked with what we need, and a good parking lot. read more

This review is for the bakery department and specifically Ed! I came in to order a cake for my 4 year olds birthday. She was VERY specific with wanting 4 layers and to be filled with lemon and raspberry and to look like a rainbow unicorn. Normally they don't do 4 layer cakes but Ed told me "I'll see what I can do." I honestly was expecting it to be the standard 2 layers but to my surprise when we cut open the cake it was 4! I couldn't believe it!!! Thank you so much Ed and the entire bakery staff who assisted in making this an incredibly special day and celebration for my little girl I greatly appreciate your attention to detail and for going above and beyond. I come to this Fred Meyers at least twice a week as it is conveniently located right by my work place and is open bright and early. I tend to buy a few things for the week, a few frozen lunches, some fruits and salad kits, and I tend to always walk out with more than I intended (which isn't the worst thing). There is always a ton of activity on the floor, people stocking and pricing items and registers rarely have long lines (which is great when you just want to grab and go). While this Fred Meyers offers weekly sales and discounted items, it is organized in a way that it could be sometimes difficult to find things. For example, I was looking for uncrustables and it was buried between some frozen pizzas. If you're a regular, you'll get to know the lay out pretty well but I appreciate how efficient the cashiers are at this location and how they try to keep all the aisles stocked at all times. read more

Very disappointed in my experience this afternoon at this location. It was about 4:45 pm, and I stopped in to buy some foam squares for a project. The line at the register in housewares stalled because of a suspended transaction, so the lady (who was nice) said "I'm going to have you go out to home and garden section where [name withheld] will check you out." So I step out to home and garden, and that's where it all spiraled downward. Not only were neither of the registers in home and garden attended to, but [name withheld] wasn't even paying attention to the registers. After standing at the registers briefly and realizing I wasn't going to be seen, I approached [name withheld] who seemed like he couldn't be bothered with me or the items I was trying to purchase. I told him I was directed out here to pay for my items, but the attitude was thick. This continued throughout the transaction, even though I even took a picture of the UPC for the items I was buying because they don't appear on the items themselves. [Name withheld] didn't even look at me, or "say thanks for coming in" at the end, or anything like that. Completely unprofessional. I won't be returning to this location. Karl rocks, this place SUCKS. I had purchased a bakery item that got moldy, even though the expiration date wasn't for another week. When I got there, the customer service counter was closed due to being "short-staffed." There was one checkout line open, and I've seen people make returns in the checkout line before. Although the line was long, I didn't feel like making another trip back, so I waited. After waiting for about 15 minutes, it was finally my turn. When I explained my problem to the cashier, he said that I could just grab a replacement. I was so off-put by the mold that I told him I'd rather have a refund. He told me that he couldn't give me a refund because they were short-staffed. Like what??? A return for a single item isn't going to take any longer than a customer with a cart full of grocery items. There were only two people behind me in line, so it wasn't like he was extremely packed and busy. In all honesty, he just looked like he was lazy and didn't want to do his job. I'm not the type to be mean, but he was obviously looking for any excuse to avoid having to do actual work. How do I know this? Because when I went to self-checkout to pay for my groceries, I had accidentally scanned in the moldy baked goods I had come to return. I called over an employee for assistance, explained the error and why I even had the item with me in the first place. Karl, who was working the self-checkout stands, was extremely friendly and helpful. He removed the accidental scan, all the while processing the return for me. He did the return without me even asking him to do it. He just took it upon himself to make my night and was overall a gem. The first employee wasn't even nice or empathetic about my problem. He made it seem like I was inconveniencing him by asking him to do his job. If he had said, "I'm sorry to hear that. Would you mind if I help these two customers behind you first, and then we'll see what we can do about a return?" I would've been more than happy to oblige. I guess I'm more agitated about the experience since I waited in line for 15 minutes, just for him to treat me as less than any other customer. I read someone else's review on here about how they got rancid chicken and lousy customer service when they came to return it, so I see I'm not the only one experiencing employees who don't want to do their jobs. Shoutout to Karl though. He seriously deserves a raise. He's such a great guy and is the only reason this place isn't getting a one-star review. 5 stars for Karl, one star for the store. read more

I have a broken back, so can no longer shop at a supermarket. Fred Meyer is a lifesaver with their home delivery. Their online web page for ordering is easy to navigate. The prices are reasonable, and the quality of products is great. When they come to deliver, I go out to my third-floor balcony and toss my keys down to the delivery man. He lets himself into the building and brings my groceries up to my apartment. Quick and easy from start to finish. I can't rave about them enough. read more

Not only are they just letting people walk in without masks now they're letting them checkout without a mask in sight either. A guy was able to check out, go get lotto tickets, chill, without any mask on his person at all and without one employee saying anything. This isn't the first time they've done absolutely nothing with people walking in and around the store without a mask covering their face this past month. Apparently they don't care now that their staff can be vaccinated and aren't at risk to enforce the mask mandate for their customers who still aren't able to get the vaccine and are still at risk. Without being at an increased risk for covid shopping here, this store already had issues. They would leave the bulk food section empty for weeks at a time even if I asked an employee to refill the seasonings and was told "Our manager who oversees bulk is here today so I'll let them know." Just for it to remain completely empty, again, for weeks until someone randomly decided to get around to it. This was in 2019 and them removing the bulk food section because of covid was kind of funny because they left it empty for so long that shutting it down completely was barely a blip on the radar. They would sell out of theo's ginger chocolate bars and then decided to stop carrying them when they rearranged the store and added in a lot more Theo flavors, none of which have a problem being stocked apparently and still haven't brought back the ginger when it would sell out at least once or twice a month I went there to buy it. Now I have to go to another store to get them. And finally their plants. Their plants die. Don't buy them. I bought an orchid and it had root rot so terrible that the buds didn't even finish blooming before they became dry crunchy husks. I keep buying plants there because it's easy just to be taught the lesson every time that I know better and am stupid for buying from them when they have no clue how to take care of any living thing. Even their bamboo can't last even two weeks without rotting from the inside out. I don't even know how it's possible to do that with a plant known for being invasive and easy to keep alive. Seriously, get real security to enforce the mask mandate if you're afraid of someone shooting up the place because they are too delicate to wear a piece of fabric on their face. The odds of unmasked people coming into a crowded space and spreading a deadly airborne virus are higher than someone pulling out a gun and that's the only reason I can think that this store isn't enforcing state law or trying to protect their customers' safety. We're too close to a vaccine to be winging it willy nilly and letting people spread it as if hundreds of thousands of people haven't died. At least whole foods has signs saying to cover your mouth and nose. Here you do you no matter the harm. "No shirt, no shoes, no service- you don't risk killing someone else but no service! No mask? Hey man, come on in the air's fine, absolutely check out, oh you want some lotto tickets?? Go for it man, the world is your oyster. In a country that only looks out for number 1, you take a completely bold, brave, and revolutionary stance of only caring about yourself and your comfort over the well being of others. And can I just say, as a store, we whole heartily support it. You won't catch any grief or resistance from us." The return policies for clothing have become ridiculous. I had a sweater I bought, had the tags on it, never worn. It sweater was purchased using my debit card. I did not have the receipt, but never needed it in the past. They would not look up the purchase on the debit card and refused the return. This is the second time I was refused a refund, the first time I had a receipt. I would give zero stars on this if I could. No where is the return policy posted that I could see. Even though it literally has their store information on the coupon. This review is to recognize Jerry L. in the refrigeration stocking department. My family and I were shopping on a Sunday morning and it was quite busy. We were looking for a specific item that we often buy there, canadian bacon (ham) rounds that you can put into English muffins for breakfast sandwiches. Unfortunately, there were none on the shelves. We continued to keep looking for other options but couldn't find anything. Jerry saw us looking around and offered to check the back to see if there were more. He told us that it was probably out of stock because he hasn't seen it out for awhile but he was willing to double check. My husband insisted that it wasn't necessary and that instead, we were just going to get some natural nitrate free turkey bacon. Because the item we wanted wasn't in stock, Jerry took it upon himself to provide excellent customer service! He gave us a coupon to get 50% off the turkey bacon to make up for our item not in stock. I've shopped at this location since it opened (I moved into my house nearby in 2009). That shows how much I like this store. On average, we stop there at least once/week. Today was the first time I took something back. My husband bought Heritage Farm wings at around 4:30 PM today. He went straight home (5 mins away). When we opened it, it was foul. I looked at the date 7-26-21. No wonder. It happens. Not a big deal. I called to inform the meat department to check their Heritage Farm wings and took the wings back to get a refund. The gal working there, Katie Frish (sp) was busy chatting with her friend (because I overheard their conversation and witnessed no transaction) while I waited. Finally, the friend left. I showed Katie my foul wings. She complained that the barcode was ripped and she couldn't scan it. Ok. I didn't expect to bring it back so I wasn't careful but you can clearly read the price/details. Then asked if I just wanted to grab another one, that's be easier. Ok, fine, I was in a hurry to get home but I walked back to the meat department. They didn't have any more HF wings so I walked back to Katie empty handed. I told her there was everything but wings. She grumbled that she already threw the bag away. Then grumbled some more about not having enough cash. Can she give me $17? I said it was $17.96. She threw $18 in my direction, slammed the register shut, threw her close sign up. Done with me. This is the newest Fred Meyer in this area and it's honestly the nicest. The store feels more spacious and well thought out than the older stores, though they're okay too. It's rare that I don't find what I'm looking for at this store. I like their clothes (I won't deny it!) not their shoes so much, their garden center is fantastic during summer, I love their home decorating department and their kitchen department too. What I regularly frequent though is the grocery store. It's a rarity that I'm looking for something that I can't find. The staff is always helpful and kind. read more
