This review is for the bakery. I have to say the service was wonderful but the quality was so disappointing. The rainbow cupcakes we ordered looked nothing like the photo we shared. Worse, all the colors started bleeding and the vibrant cupcakes ended up looking like murky gunk oozing closer to brown mush. I went in for creamer and protein ball mix. Creamer selection was a little empty. I asked a young g man for help. He went into the cooler and there was none. I walked away then as I approached the aisle for protein mix he said we have some over here! Hallelujah the Italian Sweet Cream I wanted . Yes I bought all 5. This brings me joy love his personality persistence and ambience in the store today. Today's visit 5/5. Easy friendly person at self checkout as well! Yeah! Great day. I know my 5 star rating stands out from the average. Don't worry I'm not crazy and I'm not the local manager. This is a 5 star rating only based on the fact that the original Samyang ramen is sold in the Asian food aisle and it was around $7 and some change. On Amazon it's $13. H-Mart, it's 8.99, even G-Mart was also over $8 for a pack of 4. Out of all places, can you believe Safeway had the best deal?! I love you Safeway! I am a local resident, and I had an extremely distressing experience at this Safeway location on 06/12/2024. The store liquor manager, Steve L, verbally assaulted and threatened me because he didn't like my tone of voice and the fact that I was irritated about having to wait due to a broken computer system. Steve L called me a b*%ch multiple times, accused me of not paying despite having proof on my phone, and refused to check my phone for the payment confirmation. He repeatedly called me a b$#ch and went as far as to say that someone needed to teach me a lesson. This behavior is absolutely unacceptable, and it has left me feeling unsafe in my own community. I fear for myself and my family because of his threatening remarks. This experience has severely shaken my trust in Safeway, a store I previously frequented. I hope Safeway takes serious action to address this incident and ensures that such behavior is not tolerated towards any customer. read more

I most recently came to this Lynnwood Safeway Saturday the 27th of February 2021 to pick up a few of my favorite Safeway items. I ended up going with two deli sandwiches in the ready-made section and a Jalapeño Cheddar bagel. I debated about getting a doughnut, but ultimately decided on the bagel because I was craving something more on the savory end of baked goods. Everything I got was delicious, I like simple things and I like flavorful things. Safeway does a good job of providing options that are both flavorful and simple but not so flavorful as to mask the ingredients. Their to-go options also do a good job on portioning and providing enough food to satisfy my belly. Different sections of the store are well labeled, though the shelving is tall which can mean signs are not easily visible from the end of an aisle opposite the section one is looking at. Produce abuts the bakery and deli sections and when I have visited it has been fresh. The bakery and deli sections tend to be well stocked except if coming during a busy time or a day during the holidays when most other grocery stores are closed in the area. My parents and I came here not too long ago during a winter holiday season. We were jubilated to find a grocery store, this Safeway, was open and were even more pleased to find an assortment of things we could eat even with the slim pickings. It was a highlight to a troublesome evening out. The store carries local brands and labels these brands with a 'Local' sign which is helpful when wanting to buy things local and/or support local brands/businesses. There are both self checkout and cashier check-out options that run smoothly. The parking lot is huge and not shared with too many businesses, so we have typically been able to find a spot. read more

There is a TON of homeless people hanging out the one entrance and harass the customers going inside. It is extremely concerning as I watch elder people walking inside there store they are being asked for money and food. Not to mention when I park they are already approaching my car so I have to repark. I would like to see some type of security around the building. I already contact the city. This Safeway is like most any other - groceries, trinkets and pharmacy supplies set up around the large store. Relatively easy to navigate with signage and relatively dim-lighting making it easier on the eyes after coming in from the bright sunshine outdoors, and creating an air of warmth. We found everything we needed, at prices that were not unlike other stores, and easily made our way back out to the parking lot, where numerous spots were still available to shoppers. read more

This Safeway has great quality produce, decently priced (mid tier), ample parking, food looks fresh 80% of the time, clean grocery store, a few things I wish they would improve are the cleanliness of the bathrooms, and have concern for safety of the shoppers, I absolutely love that they have a lot of parking, but I often times do not feel safe shopping here when it's dark... there are usually questionable individuals lurking outside when it's dark. I shop at this location about once per week as we live nearby and swing over after working out. My issue is with customers bringing in their pet dogs. Not service dogs, but pet dogs that have no business being in a store that prepares and sells food. On at least 4 occasions now, I have witnessed customers with dogs in the deli area and the dogs sniffing food. That is a health violation! Some customers put their dogs in the seat where a small child can sit and then do their shopping. The dog's bare butt is all over that seat and many shoppers put their food in that same spot. That's filthy and disgusting. Safeway's website says no pets. No PETS means you aren't allow to bring in your pet dogs. Dogs off-leash, dogs in carts, dogs in arms - always dogs. Today, I mentioned "no pet dogs" to a woman carrying her puppy into the store, and she imediately claimed, "it's a service dog!" A puppy can't be a real service dog and training does not start until dogs reach a certain age (18-24 months.) So right there is a reason to expel the liars from the store. It's also a crime to falsely claim your dog is a service dog, although laws are likely not enforced. Also, I have heard barking and seen lunging by supposed "service" dogs. Does Safeway care about the safety of their customers? Or the cleanliness of food and food preparation areas? Let me also mention that today, I also witnessed employees cooing over this "service" puppy and even petting it. I would assume that petting an animal while working with food is not allowed, so maybe it's time Safeway cracked down on this. Sanitation issues abound here! The Yelp reviewer who got bitten by a customer's dog should contact a dog bite attorney and sue the store. Shame on all the employees who stood around doing nothing. I've seen vicious dogs and been lunged at myself so continue to be on guard when I shop here. So are dogs allowed in Safeways or not? Safeway's "official" policy is NO PETS. The company website says no, but in practice this store, its employees and its manager allow it and interact with dogs while working. read more

I am disabled so It was a very sad day for shopping at Safeway when I was attacked and bitten by a dog the store employees allowed someone to roam around the store with, it was not a service dog it was a mean vicious Pitbull. After being attacked and bitten the store employee's refused to do anything to help me, and refused to call police allowing the dog owner to escape with a dog that by law should have been put down for biting. read more

I was with my husband on two separate occasions at the front customer service desk. The first time I told the "manager" I needed a certain Powerball option. He looked at me and said, "you want it, you don't need it." A couple of months later, I went back and the same manager was there. A customer was in front of me organizing his paperwork, and the same nasty manager said to an elderly customer, "you have to hurry up, you can't take this long next time." It was shocking the rudeness and inconsideration from this employee. What a direct contrast to Diane who is always helpful, kind, and professional. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Safeway has replaced Albertsons in this location, and it is shiny and new. Much better organization for the aisles, super clean, and great grab 'n go choices in the deli. Prices are higher because that is Safeway's standard. I used self-checkout and had to ask for a cashier to assist me since I was getting a couple gift cards. She was a little over the top. read more

I go here often, for all my groceries. Good prices for food. BUT I'm pretty sure i've dealt with the same "manager" guy that everyone is potentially talking about in the other reviews. Tall, slender, grey hair half bald. He is never in a good mood!!! He's either managing the customer service/lotto ticket desk or the alcohol. He's just so grumpy! I try to make small talk and he doesn't say much, it seems like he really hates his job. I've never seen him smile once it's just "what do you want?" It's pretty much a chore asking him to get a bottle of alcohol out of the display case when I press the button. One time a month or so ago, another customer in front of me was getting one bottle of alcohol and he was guilt tripping the customer saying, "Oh alcoholism has gone up so much since COVID-19 people are drinking themselves to death it's sad and pathetic" Good grief, nobody asked please do your job and not guilt trip people that want one bottle of liquor on a Friday night after a hard days work! I almost feel scared pressing the button because I know it will be him and he will have an attitude acting like he's doing you a favor by "killing yourself" with alcohol. How does this store even have two stars...? I asked for a disabled cart the other day and when they guy brought it the tire was flat and the odor of stench was so bad it was on the cart the whole time I used it it was horrible. Plus the bald manager follows people around I am vision impaired and can't see well and he followed me around for like 15 minutes before seeing my disabled sweatshirt and then answering me very rudely when I asked for help... plus the pharmacy is the worst I've ever dealt with really... sucks cause I go here almost everyday and I pay their stupid 5 dollar per can soup prices yet I get screwed on everything there even mislabeling everything so I end up paying more... read more

This Safeway is in sad, sad, SAD shape. I was door dashing in the area and I needed to stop somewhere for a quick grab and I'll never forget my experience here. I hate to leave a bad review for any place but this store really deserves it because of the complete lack of cleanliness! Since I had been in the car so long I had to use their restroom, and OMG this place takes record as the MOST DISGUSTING public restroom I have ever been in! If I could have made it somewhere else I would have but I wasn't able to. THe SMELL was just god awful, and this wasn't THAT kind of bathroom smell, it was the smell of....years of nasty soot and god only knows what else. Everything from the parking lot to the inside of the store is just filthy. I'm honestly shocked, because I have always expected and have found good dependable quality at any of the previous Safeway I have visited in the past. I've been coming here over 3 years and do like the store and employees. Only complaint is the deli service to get chicken or salads or Chinese food. Staff is behind the counter but don't want to wait on you as they are busy doing things. Today I got an express meal and the guys hair net wasn't covering his hair all the way and he's smacking his gum and says lazily Can I help you. It took all he had to move but kept smacking his gum and blowing a bubble. He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and not wearing gloves reaching in to get the rice and I said never mind I gotta go and left. The more I looked at the food inside the case it looked really dried and the honey sesame seed chicken looked hard. They've gone down hill on customer service and quality of food. I still will shop here but probably not the deli anymore after that. I've also had to wait awhile to get help and have seen other's walk away from waiting to long. The deli and bakery did an amazing job preparing the cake and food for my daughters "low tea" themed first birthday. I also shop in the grocery store regularly as they tend to have better quality meat. When I order home delivery there are never any issues with the order or spoiled produce. I have a weak bladder and I asked if I could use the bathroom and it was 9:50pm per my husband.  The mgr at the self service, said I can't help you. I told her I need to go bad. She said no. All I wanted to do was go to the bath room. I would think she has some compassion. No she did not. She has no compassion at all. I would like her fired. The staff have always been super nice and helpful. Sometimes they are understaffed; I hope management helps them out and puts and extra person or two on the floor. The produce is usually pretty good. If you want super duper fresh and/or organic you can always pay a premium and go to PPC/Whole Foods or some of those higher end places. The app is really good and has some nice benefits. read more

Restrooms are locked for paying customers. It's their business; that's their right. But it's a bad way to treat customers.

Not happy at all with this Safeway. It used to an Albertson's and they had everything I needed plus great customer care and support. They do not carry as much as Albertson's did and I am stuck in a line that is at least 10-15 minutes wait time. Their checkers are new and slow. This used to be a place I would go to every day but it is nothing like it was when it was Albertson's. Now I go to Fred Meyers or the grocery Walmart. Also, there is no security guards anymore. I HATE this Safeway. Honestly, I wish Safeway would get out and a QFC would move in. Their fruit is old and overpriced and a lot of candy they sell is overpriced. The garlic bread sucks. It used to be good when Albertsons was still in control. And today we got cake for my sister's birthday and the cake wasn't even fresh inside. Just tasted gross. Greatest Safeway I have been at yet. Not only are they always stocked and very clean. The employees are friendly and always willing to help... and to top it off, I had left one of my shopping bags, probably in the cart in the parking lot (I have a 2 year old and a 8 year old and can get easily distracted) and when I got home I realized I was missing some items for dinner and called, Safeway was willing to replace every item I was missing with no charge including some pricey seafood I had purchased for dinner this evening.
