My grandfather practiced Chinese medicine. I remember as a young child seeing him do acupuncture on himself (it freaked us out lol) and giving us these Chinese herbs and soups to drink. I didn't think much of it in my teens and twenties. When I hit my thirties, I realized its benefits and started seeing my high school friend for acupuncture on a regular basis. It can be used to help with chronic pain, headaches, migraines, arthritis, insomnia, infertility and reducing anxiety. Her studio is far and I ultimately stopped going. I was also experiencing stiff necks and constant knots in my shoulder blades and found a local chiropractor that I saw but also stopped going since the pain subsided with home self care. Over the past decade, I try to maintain myself and have things I do to relieve stress. Lifting weights, walking the trails on a regular basis, stress relieving activities (reading, gardening, coloring, etc.) I've been happy to report those things have worked but now reaching my mid-40s, I need extra assistance.
