Please know that unless you are paying cash, the doctor will not see you till you have waited in the waiting room for a minimum of 5 hours. It is very sad that this is normal practice at this office. My father has dementia and this is the doctor that was given to us from the Former Columbia Hospital now called JFK north. After sitting in the waiting room for almost 7 hours , the doctor couldn't even help us. He said he was not affiliated with JFK. Please be aware that you will be disappointed and exhausted. I had a relative referred to this doctor by Blue Cross for an urgent consultation and I went with the relative. I received an appointment through the insurance company for my relative. But, it turns out, there are no appointments at this practice. You must show-up Mon-Thur between 11:30-6:30 and "sign in." Yes, everyday is walk-in day. Then you wait, and wait, and wait. When the doctor sees you it will be for 8 minutes--TOPS--and that includes writing the prescriptions. You will waste hours here. And, the doctor only writes a 30 day prescription so you must repeat this 1/2 a day process every month if you want to continue with the treatment. FYI, Blue Cross pays him $147/visit and patient pays a $40 co-pay. So, he is making better than $1000/hour. Yet, for $1000/hour, there is NO empathy, kindness, professionalism nor care. The staff is (trying to be kind here) , perhaps, high school educated. They have no medical experience and lack empathy and ethics. After one month of medication and therapy (therapy with a real psychologist), the doctor canceled the relative's appointment the day before a needed refill. This left the relative without medication for a week, causing withdrawal (yes, you withdrawal from anti-depressants), anxiety, fear, depression, a giant step backwards. I repeatedly tried to talk to staff about this but they told me they wouldn't even communicate my concerns to the doctor because "he didn't want to hear it either.". I was told "This is a private practice and you are not going to tell us how to run it." Apparently the Board of Medical Licensing and State of Florida are also people who "are not going to tell them how to run the practice" because there is no concern for ethics nor professionalism. He has no back-up, will not call in a non-narcotic medicine and will not take calls, I have never seen so many down-trodden 40 & 50+ people collecting prescriptions for ADD. I mean, if you can take 5-6 hours of a workday every 30 days to sit here for this doctor, I'm wondering if you even have a job??? And, it you don't have a job, I'm not sure how ADD is affecting you but, i suspect, prescribed speed is fun at any age. I suspect that the patients who say he is "great" are the ones being prescribed controlled substances "speedily." I would not go here if you have any choice at all. Unfortunately, some insurance companies (Blue Cross being one of them) simply do not have psychiatrists on their list. And not everyone can pay $200-$300 cash every month to get a prescription. Nonetheless, Dr. Sahadeo should be ashamed, truly ashamed. He is there to assist those with mental illness and addiction. But, he is actively harming many. read more

I'm not a drug addict. I do not abuse my meds. Yes there are times I have waited, however I leave my phone number and have been called before my turn was up. The staff knows the chaos and still they have been very polite to me. If you don't like the Doctor or can't stay for the wait time then go to another doctor. read more

Unbelievable is the only word for this place. I was referred here by my primary doctor who wouldn't refill my controlled RX. I got here at 2, it is now close to 5. It is packed in here and was told this is a slow day. Not only that.. but there are several drug addicts in here, actual insane people yelling out obscenities, and very sick people coughing all over the place. It's disgusting. The place itself is run down. I truly don't know how this is allowed to stay operational. The only positive are the front desk people that work here- I don't know how they have the patience to deal with this on a day to day basis. Dr. Sahadeo and his team have helped me over come my post partum depression and anxiety. He is straight to the point and knowledgeable. He spent time with me each time I have been there listening to what I have to say and also feel. He is a busy doctor but he makes time for every patient he sees. Yes the wait times are long and tedious however its worth the wait. The reason the wait time is so long is he is the only psychiatrist in the area that accepts medicare. Lisa and Maria have always been very nice and polite and have been working for Dr. Sahadeo since the beginning. They put up with a lot of nonsense in that office due to people constantly bothering them. However if you are polite and respectful they will treat you with respect and dignity. Before you go ahead and assume that all of us who see Dr. Sahadeo are drug addicts. I have cigna insurance and its the only co pay I can afford to see Dr. Sahadeo. I suffered from post par tum depression and anxiety after my son was hospitalized for 8 days in the nicu due to breathing issues then a month later began to choke on his own mucus because our pediatrician for 2 months straight said he wasn't sick which required him to be hospitalized again. Then a 3rd time he was hospitalized because his oxygen level had dropped below 85% and began to suffer from hypoxemia. Before you assume I am a bad mother and a so called "drug addict" as you assume everyone that goes to Dr. Sahadeo is. Let me tell you about myself. I have one child, happily married going on 3 years with 2 dogs and a house, my husband is a police officer and I own a small online antiques business and work from home so I can be with my 1 year old son. So back to the point, It got to the point where I was so terrified something would happen to my son that I wouldn't leave our home until my husband took me to see Dr. Sahadeo. So before you decide to run your mouth about shit that goes on in that office think before you type. If you are not directly affected by the way his office is run then keep your nose out of his business. He has been open for over 20 years and was the head psychiatrist at 2 major hospitals in our area. If he was a pill mill doctor I'm pretty sure the DEA would have already been notified. I wish I could give 0 stars. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT GO HERE!!!! This place is for nothing but druggies. I went for anxiety and actually my anxiety was just triggered and made worse by only sitting in the waiting room. This is 100% a pill mill for drug addicts. This is what you will experience if you go here: you get there and immediately realize how incredibly filthy the entire place is (red flag #1), then you walk into the waiting room where there is not a single person to greet you or help you in anyway, only a sign with a sign-in sheet under it (red flag #2), then you will end up waiting hours before your name is even called because there are so many druggies here before you trying to get their fix. Then when your name is finally called - HA! - you thought you were being called to be seen? Nope, they're just asking for your co-pay! Then, once they have your money, then send you a "check-in link" on your phone. Then once you have completed the link it gives you a time that is about another hour away, and that is the expected time you will be seen. OMG As I pulled past the building to park I saw a huge sign on the face that read "SPEEDY PERSCRIPTION REFILLS" that was the first red flag. The second was the cloud of cigarette smoke I had to walk thru from the group of people standing just ouside the front door waiting for their "speedy refills" I assume. THEN....the third red flag was, as I went up to "sign in" for my appointment, behind the glass sliding window was a young dude in nappy braids, jeans and a T-shirt, I could barely understand as he took my new patient paperwork I had painstakingly filled out ahead of time to help this new doctor with my medical history. I reluctantly sat down in the dirty little waiting room and watched the parade of very shady looking people rush in to the dude behind the glass window, receive something and rush out. That was my forth and final red flag. I requested my paperwork back from the so very professional young man behind the sliding glass window as he asked me "what chu need dis back fo", I took my paperwork and could not "unsee" that experience fast enough as I drove away from there. Now the Doctor may very well be a good one, but what I may end up with while waiting to see him , would not be worth it. read more

I went for my 230 appointment today. The staff told me appointments don't matter. It is who ever signs in first. There were 33 people in front of me. I was told by the staff it would possibly be an hour. People waiting told me they have waited 8 hours before. He obviously spends minutes with his patients and then bills insurance.he must be to able making 1000 an hour. Itappeared to be all Medicare. I was horrified this was a pill mill. I would never go here. I am disgusted with blue Cross who we pay thousands of dollars a year even sent me to him as he is the only one in the network. Shame on you blue Cross. read more

I struggled for many years. I tried everything my way. I was exhausted, hopeless and bankrupt on options. Miraculously, I met someone who could Identify and recommend Dr. Sahadeo. From my first visit, Dr. Sahadeo's Staff treated me like I was at the perfect place, as they genuinely cared. Suddenly, I started noticing life was seemingly starting to become manageable. It was like a new pair of glasses! With great fortune, Dr. Sahadeo was able to identify the problem where so many others who tried before him seemed to make my situation worse. In conclusion, my experience has been a miraculously life-changing event. I can finally see clearly and feel clarity for the first time! I highly recommend if you want to feel the warmth of the sun on your face every day as I do? Do not hesitate. Best Dr.ive been too....He has helped me in so many different ways that I could not even begin to write all of the things that he has helped me with. This man has literally done wonders for me. He is patient, kind, and he listens to everything you tell him. And then he will give you the feedback that he feels necessary for you to hear what you need to do.
