On a bright and hot Sunday, I found this place at a time I was in desperate need of a meal and shade. This restaurant looked inviting and smelled heavenly, so I wandered inside. I seated myself at a table, and someone brought me a menu promptly. It was quite hefty, showing that this place had more options than what you could see at the grab and go counter in the front. It is all in German, so English speakers be prepared, but other than that it was easy to navigate and had many options for all palates. I ordered the falafel teller (plate) and a water, and while I was waiting and small basket of pita bread (very thin) was brought to my table. When my meal arrived, the falafel was very hot, obviously fried fresh, and the sesame dip was splendid with it. My simple side salad was also very refreshing, as I was still hot from exploring the castle ruins that morning. I highly recommend this place to anyone in Heidelberg. WOW. 5 Stars for a fabulous Lebanese restaurant that delivered on flavor, texture, authenticity, and location. I love visiting Heidelberg when I'm in Germany and walking through the streets imagining I am a college student at a gorgeous European campus of the oldest university in Germany. We saw this highly rated spot while walking along the cobblestone streets and decided to stop for food. We ordered the mixed plate which featured babaganoush, hummus, falafel (donut shaped), potatoes, eggplant, roasted cauliflower, salad, spinach pastry, and cheese pastry. When I tell you were could not stop raving about each and every aspect of this dish, I am not exaggerating. I legitimately think the people at the table next to us got annoyed at these overly animated Americans. I will dream about these donut-shaped falafels as there is nothing like them where I live (so so far away). We also opted for a glass of Lebanese dry white wine, which was super crisp and pleasant. Overall, a must-try when in Heidelberg. I wish I had been able to take some more to-go- especially since we saw that that they have convenient lunch-box style offerings for the college students. read more

Just had a wonderful lunch here. Order at the counter and sit down or get it to go. I got the vegetarian platter and asked for no taziki so they asked if it should be vegan. I was thrilled. It was enough for two to share. The platter was pricy but delicious (my favorite was the babaganush and spinach pastry). My partner got the falafel wrap and it was fantastic and inexpensive. Place gets really busy and the food is flavorful and fresh.....for the most part. The potatoes were amazing w lemon and spicy flavors. The cheese taco was creamy & delicious!!! Hummus and cauliflower were boring and bland. Learn what you like and stick with it. The falafel was very tasty which for me its either amazing or chunk of mass. I liked their falafel. When on my European trip with some friends, we ended up at this place two days in a row for breakfast and lunch! The shawrama and falafel wraps were amazing. And no offense to German food, but we just couldn't eat any more of it. The prices here were amazing! About $4 for each of the wraps, and they were fresh and filling and so so tasty!! We got ours to go but you can dine in and get a great view of people-watching in Heidelberg. read more

We loved this place so much, we came back 2 days in a row (instead of trying other new places on our vacation) and when my best friend and I came back the next day, we saw everyone else in our group, who had also decided to come back on their own! Great deal on a falafel or shawarma wrap for 3.50€..... can't get a delicious deal like that anywhere in the US! Everything is made fresh to order..... the falafel is made right in front of you, and the skewers are raw in the display case and then grilled before your eyes. I wanted a lamb kebab the second day, but made into a wrap. The wraps were huge, loaded with fresh veggies and white sauce, and incredible. There was a little bit of a language barrier but the servers were very nice. This place attracts students and tourists that it is easily busy with so-so service and subsequently can lose some charm. But with decent food, it is easy to overlook the unpleasantries of this place. I've had their chicken kabab and the "Lahem Mischwi" (lamb kabab), and both dishes were tasty with the nicely grilled meat. The sides (fries and salad) were ordinary and nothing to complain about. I love this restaurant. The waitstaff and guys at the counter are all very friendly. I usually stop by for a falafel wrap (a good deal -- 3.50€ -- and they actually put love into it, unlike many places for the same price), but have also sat down to eat here.
