The deities are sculpted in a South Indian style and you find some of the deities in forms, you don't find in other temples - Pancha mukha Ganesha and pancha mukha Shiva. The main deity Shirdi Sai Baba is placed on the center of the temple and looks regal. The temple seems to be supported well by volunteers and staff and offers free prasad (food offering) generously. The parking space outside is generous and easily accessible from behind India Grocers.

Carved stone complex stands at 191 feet tall with so much elegance and beauty. The people who work there are amazing and very friendly they treat you with respect and make your experience very unique. Food court very organized and clean and the shopping area was great too. As you arrive at this temple, you realize what you have seen from Turnpike is only a tip of the iceberg. This temple is just humongous in size with beautiful lightings and has a massive parking area. The temple has tall columns that are intricately designed and built. Enter and you will find a divine atmosphere with the deities. This is one of the Swaminarayan temples that has men and women divided between two sides while worshipping. They have a marketplace with a lot of gifts, snacks and readymade food items and a canteen which was not open while we were there.

Sri Guruvaayoorappan Temple is a classic South Indian temple with great architecture, stunning…read moreidols of deities with grandiose decoration together with the calm and peaceful vibe inside the temple. The temple is huge, well maintained and all the Covid precautions are in place. There's ample of parking space outside. Once you enter the temple from the side door, there will be a temperature check and after that, you go upstairs where you'd see all the idols. The one clever thing that the people working here have done is that they have installed one entry and exit point so that there's only one way from start to finish to see all the idols, get blessings, pray and worship once inside. They have arranged this fence type barrier and you follow along throughout, seeing all the magnificent idols at display. Apart from the beautiful idols, they also do various pooja/ archana for a reasonable price. You can get the details before entering the main floor. There's also a canteen located at walking distance from the temple with plenty of food items on the menu. The canteen is run by volunteers (as far as I could tell) and the menu is your typical South Indian styled food items like Dosa, vada, idli and a few more along with beverages like tea and coffee. We had a few different varieties of dosas, Idli & Vada combo, coffee and kesari. The food on offering was just ok with mild toned down flavors. The temple has a calming vibe, it's peaceful and a place for devotees to gather and be one with the divine. A must visit temple if you're around.

It took 12 years, over $100 million, and 12,500 volunteers to build this architectural wonder, and it's incredible having the second largest BAPS temple in the world right here in New Jersey, second only to the one in New Delhi, India! From the moment we arrived at the main entrance, I felt transported to a different world. Everyone in our group was in awe, and I couldn't stop taking photos. Every detail deserves admiration, from the massive statue of Nilkanth Varni at the entrance plaza and the tranquil courtyard water features, to the main Akshardham Mandir itself with its countless intricate indoor and outdoor carvings. A few helpful tips for your visit: - Welcome Center: Be sure to catch the informative intro video. There are two theaters with staggered showtimes, so just hop into whichever one has the shorter wait. - Dress Code: They enforce a strict modest dress code (e.g. shoulders and knees must be covered). Don't worry if you forget - they offer free wraps at the door so you aren't turned away. I wore shorts, and they provided a sarong to wear over them. - Footwear: You will need to take off and check your shoes before entering the Mandir. - Amenities: Near the exit, there is a cafeteria, a dessert shop, and a museum (we didn't get a chance to try the food this time, but it's great to have options).
