Service was slow but the food was beautiful and delicious. Went with a group of six and ordered several dishes, drinks and desserts. The food was really good but the portions were small. We were all convinced that we ordered too much food but it was just enough. We had to flag down a waiter for more drinks which I didn't like, but they were good mixed drinks. They brought us out the wrong desserts and we were a little confused at first but by the time we figured it out, the waiter was no where to be seen. Since they never checked in on us, we just ate the dessert that we didn't order. What brings this rating down is we spent plenty of money and they had the audacity to tell us to leave while we were talking and finishing up our meal so that they could sit customers waiting in the line. They only checked in on us when it was convenient for them. Good food but not so good service. Try it if you'd like but I wouldn't recommend. read more

Delicious food. Gracious, helpful, accommodating, efficient staff. Nice decor. We shared vegan spring rolls with very tasty sauce. We also had beef stew, vegetarian noodle soup and veggie fried rice (Best we've ever had! Stand alone great dish.) the broth of the soup was absolutely delicious. Nice combination of vegetables. My first food stop after arriving in Queenstown. It's located in the downtown area of Queenstown, which is a nice place to wander around on a nice day/night. I had made a reservation beforehand, but depending on the time/day, you may not need one, especially for smaller parties. I got the pork spring rolls with nuoc cham and the saigon vermicelli. I thought both were ok, just not mind blowing. This wouldn't be my top recommendation, but it's in a convenient location and the food is decent. If I came back, I would at least try different dishes. read more

Food was good, nothing too special. The summer rolls were somewhat loosely wrapped but tasted fresh. The pho had good flavor and was just the right size. There is an extra large version available that has extra noodles and broth. Also note that the lemongrass and chili chicken is made with bone-in chicken wings. A Karen at the next table sent it back because it had bones in it, which she wasn't aware of She kept questioning what part of the chicken the meat was from - how does one not know what a chicken wing looks like in this day and age? Must try their Saigon vermicelli! It is really good. Other items are not bad either. The crispy tofu is crispy outside and juicy inside.

I was looking for a place to eat at nearby the airport. As soon as I entered Saigon Kingdom, I knew I had found the right one. The decoration makes you travel to Vietnam (travel back in my case as I had spent a month there) The menu has lots of food and drinks As I was well hungry, I went for their special hmong styled crispy whole fish, along with a medium size rice, and apple juice I love fish but not always go for it because of its bones. I have to say that this fish was rather easy to it. And delicious indeed. The sauce that came with it was a great combination by the way The place because totally full, which helped me realize how popular it is (you can also reserve a table if you plan on coming), and how efficient staff is (including to properly close the door, if you're a guest you may want to double check after you've entered/left) Definitely recommending this restaurant! read more

There are two Saigon Kingdoms in the Queenstown area. This one is not in the heart of Queenstown where it is full of tourists and not many available parking spots - especially if you are here between Christmas and New Years! So if you are craving for Vietnamese food go to this branch located in the Remarkables Shopping Center just near the airport. The service and food here is just as good as the one in town, but even better as there is ample parking and near to no tourists! We came here twice! As the Beef Pho was really good. The soup was tasty with tones of star anise, lemongrass and beef broth. I also tried the Laksa which is not the Malaysian curry laksa but rather more like the Thai Khaw Soi. It was delicious too! Definitely a place for soup noodle dishes - especially when the weather is cold! read more

We jumped on our phones and started searching for someplace to go. Got to Saigon Kingdom and of course we all knew what we wanted, PHO! Some of us got the regular bowl and some got the large bowl. This spot offered exactly what I needed: quick, flavorful, and piping hot chicken fried rice and beef chow mein. The rice was delicious and I would certainly go for that upon a future visit. The noodles werevery different than any I've ever had at a Chinese restaurant. They were more like spaghetti than the usual noodles I'm used to and the sauce was a little sweeter. It was still pretty good though. The downfall was the temperature inside this large restaurant because it was freezing. I kept my jacket, scarf, and gloves on until my food came, chopsticks and gloves don't mix well. They did seat us next to a heater but nobody likes dining indoors on a cold day and shivering just the same. Aside from the cold, the food was hot and just what we wanted. The prices are a bit steep but the portions are generous so two plates for two people was fine for us. I would definitely stop by again. read more

(This was probably closer to 3.5 stars to me.) Saigon Kingdom's food was very good and flavorful, and the mid-sized menu had a good variety of options. (As others have said, this was perfect warm food for winter!) The staff was friendly and efficient. The restaurant was pretty. The split-level space has windows that look onto the street on one side and onto walkway on one side and the opposite end. The main issue I had was that the restaurant smelled like body odor or feet to me on the day I visited. I have not smelled that in other Vietnamese restaurants across Asia, so I do not believe it was the smell of a unique spice or style of cooking. It did take away somewhat from the dining experience...but I still felt that the food was very good, so take my complaint as you will. read more

I stopped in here for a quick healthy lunch after an active morning. It's fairly dark inside and the atmosphere is quiet, so I wasn't sure that the food would be okay. I chose summer rice paper rolls with prawns, along with steamed veggies. These came soon and I was delighted- nicely presented rolls with fresh, tasty ingredients along with a lovely bowl of colourful veggies- exactly what I wanted. Service is good but the food is average. I came here for lunch. The chicken spring roll has very little chicken (and very thin slices) and is just ok. The Thai chili beef and rice dish is not authentic Vietnamese at all. It's quite bland actually. But the quality of beef is not too bad! read more
