Better Value, Better Quality, It must be Dunnes Stores! Remember this old TV jingle for Dunnes…read more Anytime anyone mentions the place that recycles in my head. So all I can say is the ad worked. Anyway Dunnes Stores eh? What can I say, it is a bit of an institution in Northern Ireland and Ireland, it is kind of the same deal as Primark. Low quality clothes but at an excellent price. For instance I think I have got a few white shirts for various occasions from Dunnes stores. I would say its target audience is the older generation as I do not see too many young people go in and out of Dunnes. But it must be doing okay as it has been in its unit in the Flagship centre for years and years. If you need the basics in terms of clothes and don't want to spend too much money then I would go to Dunnes Stores. The flagship Centre is right in the centre of town and there is on site parking and ATM's galore.

I have never been dissatisfied with anything that I have purchased from this store wether for me or as a present. It really is value for money with prices being very affordable for the quality provided. The only problem I have when shopping here is that there are so many nice things to choose from, just when you think you have got what you want, you see something else that had a bigger wow factor!! It is a lovely clean and bright store and the layout always stay the same so there is no valuable time wasted trying to find the section you are looking for. All in all I can't really say anything negative about this store except that I really could shop till I drop when I go into it but I always manage to come home with one of those great bargains that we all love to get our hands on !!

I have bought several things from this shop and have always been impressed with the price and the service. The girls behind the counter don't bug you no matter how long you browse. I recently bought a friend of a friend, who's birthday party I was attending two gorgeous rustic candle holders and two scented candles for less than a tenner!! Bargain or what! The best thing is the girls behind the counter will wrap them for you and put them in a nice little bag making the gift look way more expensive than it is. There are three parts to the shop; one area for gifts as I've mentioned, one area for kitchen goods and cookware and an upstairs with children's toys and clothes. Everything is reasonably priced, you can pick up some really unusual kitchen goodies which I have never seen for sale anywhere else. Well worth a visit.

You know those fiddly people in your life who cause you huge issues when it comes to present buying for them? A friend of mine had a milestone birthday approaching, but I don't know her well enough to warrant an absolute plethora of gifts. So, I thought I would play it safe and get her a bracelet. This particular one was a gorgeous pink beaded bracelet with a tiny charm, bearing of the name of the company who made it. The shop assistant was fantastic and provided the loveliest silver pouch for my, I mean, my friend's new piece of jewellery. As she lovingly wrapped the bracelet, I soon realised that I hadn't asked the price...ooops. Slight panic ensued, but as soon as the shop assistant pleasantly asked for £6, my heart started beating again. What a bargain for such a luxurious looking piece of costume jewellery. Happy days. If jewellery isn't what you're looing for, cards, homeware, upmarket soaps and toiletries, cards, wrapping paper and stationery are all included in Presence. Do take a peek.

Blimey, Wardens should be renamed "The Never-Ending Store That Has Just About Everything"…read more Seriously. I have many fond (ahem) memories of being dragged, I mean brought, down to Wardens with my parents. Usually the visit was a long and tiresome, er, lengthy and informative one, consisting of mum and dad dandering round the furniture department, the decorating department, the gardening department, and the kitchenware / appliances department. Every ten year old's dream really. These days, I definitely appreciate Wardens much more than I used to. You could literally spend all day in the place, browsing the various departments. If you come in off High Street, you are greeted by a beautiful gift section, filled with ornamental goods, china, glassware and the like. You can find everything from Alice in Wonderland figurines to Goebel cats to Denby pottery to Tyrone Crystal. Seriously good stuff. Following on from this is the gardening / pets / kitchenware / decorating department (they sort of merge into one), in which I found a little jar of Jellybeans (considered purchased). Really goes to show the variety of goods Wardens has. The furniture etc department (you know what I mean...pictures / frames / carpets / rugs and all that jazz) lies beyond this, leading out towards the car park which is located off South Street. Parking here is advisable - Ards is an absolute madhouse when it comes to trying to find yourself a space. You just never know what you'll find in Wardens...there truly is something for everyone.

There is a section for wallpaper and paint, cookware, furniture, artwork, jewellery, screws and garden accessories to name only a small fraction. The only thing I will say is that it can be expensive and parking out the front is impossible. Go out the back to park, you will have to pay and display even if you are only nipping in as there is a traffic warden lingering somewhere all the time - don't risk it. Although the store is expensive it does stock a lot of bits and bobs and the sales are pretty good.

Take a look at this little lot: Top Shop Argento Exhibit Wallis Benetton and Sisley Kookai Faith Warehouse A Wear Oasis Benefit and Clarins make up I know, what a list! Tempest is a really good one stop shop when you need an outfit in a hurry. The only little niggle is that if you try on and want to buy a selection of things from different brands, you have to go to separate till points to pay for them. This place is what it is, you kind of know what is going on and what you are going to get. There is nothing for anyone who is either male or outside the mainstream. Alas, if you like TopShop this is the place for you.
