Like the other qypers say, this is the only supermarket in the town centre. Unless you have a car, Morrisons is pretty much out of reach and Sainsbury's your only option.
They have just reorganised their entrance, and created a long corridor of veggies/fruits on one side and bakery on the other. I'm not sure I like the new layout as much, as it makes you feel trapped until you get to the back wall, but others might.
In the summer it is impossible to step into the shop without a heavy jacket and scarf. Their refrigerators are not capable of regulating their temperature properly, and as a result the store is colder than a skating rink. You can feel the shock upon walking in, it's quite bad.
Their selection is pretty good for a small-ish store, and I must admit I'm impressed with the size of the alcohol section. (But then again, when in Britain)
Tip: If you go after work (18:00-19:00) you may find no bakery goods left over. However! If there are some, they are going to be seriously discounted. (10p instead of 30p for the mini-baguette!) read more
