It's more of a 'doctor factory'. Little care for the patients and no time. It's more in and out as quickly as possible. Often times putting the needles in quickly and a bit painfully as well. I've often had to wait in the room for more than 20 minutes before seeing the acupuncturist. I actually dressed and left once. It's also not conducive to being relaxed. The walls are paper thin, so you hear every patient conversation, every footstep up and down the corridor and every staff conversation. No one even tries to be quiet. Kitchen timers are set outside each room, so you have loud beeping noises going off during your relaxing treatment - it sounds like America's Test Kitchen. The rooms are also very worn out - definitely need an upgrade, cleaning and new coat of paint. I like and believe in the acupuncture, but if my insurance didn't cover it or I had to pay out of pocket, I wouldn't come here.

First of all, PLENTY of parking in the Hannaford Plaza shopping location. Dedicated spaces with signage for Physical Therapy clients just steps from the front doors. When you walk in you're greeted by a receptionist who asks your name and the Physical Therapist you will be working with that day. There are a number of therapists and, based on your needs, one of them will be YOURS for the entirety of the course of treatment. I was fortunate to be assigned to Dr Sarah Prizzia. She's well educated in all things muscular and skeletal and extremely personable. I had fallen from a step ladder, landing flat on my buttocks. I was in pain because I had compressed one of my lower vertebrae on my spine as a consequence of the fall. The muscles in my abdomen, buttocks and each leg needed to be loosed up - stretched - in order to strengthen and coordinate those muscles used to walk steadily, safely and support my body. My goal was to feel that I could stand, walk and climb steps with confidence and stability. Today, I feel SO MUCH BETTER. Dr Prizzia gave me several printed pages intermittently during my 10 weeks so I can continue with the same exercises at home. Maintaining what we accomplished together with her guidance is essential to stay healthy and limber. My sessions were approximately 45 minutes long. I felt stronger with each visit. Yesterday, I traveled to NYC by Metro North and MTA subway with lots of walking, stair climbing, navigating busy street . At one point I realized, I was ambulatory without a cane and pain free. Yes, I was tired when I got home but pleasantly surprised that trip had been precarious, slower and painful 10 weeks earlier and yesterday it was a joy! After getting a very expensive broken hand surgery, being in a cast for two months, and then driving an hour to my first physical therapy appointment here, here's the conversation that ensued: Receptionist #1: Do you have your prescription? Me: Oh! I didn't know I needed one. I have all my records from the surgery right here. Hand Therapist: I can't touch you without a prescription. Me: Oh shoot, I didn't realize. I wish that had been made more clear on the phone. Hand Therapist: (explains why she can't touch me without prescription) (At this point, random Receptionist #2 walks over and interrupts like Gollum) Receptionist #2: (Shaming) I did make it clear to you on the phone. I talked to you. Me: Wow, you just popped out of noowhere. Receptionist #2: (Irate, defensive) I did make it clear to you. Me: I'm going to just keep talking to these two because at least they're nice. Hand Therapist: (adding fire to the flames, huffily) Well, we're alllll nice. And it devolved from there. Learn some customer service, people. You just lost a paying customer for literally nooo reason other than you have no training in customer service. You offered no solutions, belittled, condescended, argued and shot back defensively. Smile, be nice, empathize, and the customer is always right.

She is always caring, compassionate and personable. She's always interested in "you"! Most recently my 17 year old son woke up with a severe neck spasm. The front office handles scheduling, billing, medical insurance, all you have to do is relax and let the therapists do their jobs; which they do quite well. The therapists call you in at your appointed time and immediately you're doing something or receiving some sort of treatment, constantly. They don't waste your time. I've been at other Physical Therapy businesses and there were times when i was sitting around for long periods before the next modality. Watching the clock as they wasted my time and money. When I had a follow up with the prescribing physician I'd let them know my time is valuable and I would not be going back to that place. If they couldn't suggest another therapist I'd find another doctor. I don't entertain fools. This place does well because of these factors: efficient operations, competent therapists, and feed back to the prescribing physicians. Word of mouth worked wonders before the internet and social media. Now it's faster to eliminate the ineffectual, inefficient, inept practices.
