This is one of the finest hospitals in the county and they have been given many awards for Cardiac Care. The staff, Nurses and Doctors are incredible.

The wait was about an hour, but with the amount of people in the waiting room, I thought it would have been longer. While I was there, I was well taken care of by Emily, Molly, Shannon, and Anna. I genuinely appreciate not only their medical care, but also their kindness and support in an extremely stressful situation especially since I suffer from panic disorder. They really took the time to care for my mental health as well as physical. The only reason I am leaving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I definitely didn't love the area that I was in, given the fact that there were other people being treated in the same room. That being said, the place was insanely busy and there were others with more serious issues which is understandable. Additionally, the space I was in did not have a call button which would have been very helpful given my level of anxiety; however, the staff was very attentive so I luckily was never in a position where I absolutely needed the call button. The check in desk could have been more helpful and caring, but with how busy they were, I understood that they were just trying to check everyone in quickly.

I am submitting this review regarding the care I received during my visit to Denver Health on May…read more27, 2026, after having a car accident. First, my medical record (Health Summary) states that I removed my IVs and self-checked out. This statement is completely false and inaccurate. I removed monitoring electrodes that had been attached to my body, but I did not remove any IV line(s). I am highly concerned that this documentation creates a misleading account of what occurred and may incorrectly suggest that I refused treatment or interfered with my medical care. I request that Denver Health review all documentation supporting this statement and correct the record if it is found to be inaccurate. Second, throughout my interaction with ambulance personnel and hospital staff, I was repeatedly asked whether I wanted pain medication. I explained multiple times that pain medications make me sick and cause me to vomit. Despite my repeated statements, I continued to be asked about pain medication rather than being offered alternative measures for comfort or treatment. Third, I had visible injuries, including a large hematoma on my leg and a laceration/abrasion on my neck from the seatbelt. I was not offered wound cleaning, treatment for the neck injury, or basic comfort measures such as an ice pack for the hematoma. I am concerned that these injuries were not appropriately assessed and addressed. Fourth, I was not aware that intravenous contrast material would be administered during my CT scan. I was not informed at all nor was I givn explanation regarding the purpose of the contrast material, its risks, benefits, or alternatives, nor do I recall being asked if I was allergic to this dye. My recollection is that immediately before the injection, the CT technician said something over a microphone; however, the statement was muffled while I was under the CT Scan machine, and I could not understand what was being said. As a result, I did not understand that contrast material was about to be injected. I respectfully request that Denver Health review all relevant records, including physician notes, nursing notes, ambulance records, medication administration records, CT scan documentation, radiology records, and any consent documentation related to the administration of intravenous contrast material. I also request review of any available audio, video, or other records that may assist in determining what occurred during my care. I request that any inaccurate information in my medical record be corrected. If Denver Health declines to amend the record, I request that this statement of disagreement be permanently attached to my medical record in accordance with applicable patient rights and that I be provided with an updated copy of the record reflecting that attachment. Because my concerns involve both the accuracy of the medical record and the quality of care I received, I am also pursuing review through the appropriate regulatory channels, including filing a complaint with the Colorado Medical Board. I am posting this review in hopes that DHH takes the necessary measures to make sure staff does not overelaborated incorrect information in the future.

She has always been very responsive to my panicked calls (when is it not an urgent call, when your tiny baby is sick, even if it's "normal"?) She has also welcomed my questions/hesitations when it comes to some Western medicine norms, and she always offers holistic and research-based advice/thoughts/diagnoses. She even met me on a Saturday (not office hours) to give my girl the last of her three-day antibiotic shots for an ugly ear infection. Personally, she diagnosed and has helped treat issues I've had for years -- that a counselor, midwife, dermatologist, and naturopath didn't catch. While it is a younger and smaller practice, I'm definitely willing to overlook a less-than-friendly receptionist who answered the phone a few times or confusion with paperwork. The care and professionalism we've received when it really counts is invaluable to me. Update (Feb 2018): she no longer has a frazzled receptionist. Leslie is always kind, warm, and welcoming! :)

Yet it was a complete let down from the moment I called to make an appointment. It was hard to get in, the woman on the phone was rude and not helpful and then my appointment was not scheduled correctly. Dr. Shelly was not any more impressive. Unfortunately, she was very impersonal, did offer a natural and holistic approach I was looking for and rushed me out of her office. I'll keep looking for someone that will offer me more than 15 minutes of their time. I wasted a $30 copay on 15 useless minutes.
