After lunch with my friend today, we decided to do a little shopping at the mall, and I'm so glad we stopped by Saks Off 5th. I browsed through the store, picked out a few items, and headed to the fitting room, where I met Al, who was working this afternoon. He was funny, friendly, and incredibly helpful. Al went out of his way to make customers feel welcome and well taken care of, and his positive attitude made the shopping experience even more enjoyable. I was thrilled to find and purchase a beautiful Stella McCartney cherry-print top. I left the store feeling happy, thanks to both my great find and the exceptional customer service. I ordered a Bottega Veneta bag from the Saks OFF 5TH website and was so excited to receive it. I waited patiently, expecting a high-quality designer item, but when it arrived, I was extremely disappointed. The bag smelled strongly of chemicals, not like real leather. Some parts felt hard and cheap, and it didn't have the shine or quality shown on the original website photos. The bag came in a plastic bag, and the dust bag inside was wrinkled and looked old, as if it had been used multiple times. A small paper booklet in different languages was also included, covered in a plastic bag that looked dirty and had cloth fibers stuck to it. I could not find any serial or authenticity number inside. Comparing the item to the original listing, it looks completely different. I can't believe a website selling such expensive designer items would allow fake bags to be shipped. This is a smaller location, but it has a great selection. It's not crowded, very clean, and well organized. For designer shoes, you can only try on one side since the other is kept at the register to prevent theft, which makes sense. Designer clothing is locked to the racks, so you'll need an associate to unlock it. They won't hand it to you directly -- instead, they'll place it in a fitting room, and you can try it on once you head over there. Again, it's all for theft prevention, and it's understandable. Overall, I definitely recommend this store 100%! read more

Worked for this company for many years and have never worked for a more unethical company at the last few years of employment . Just visited a store for shopping and the condition was astonishing. Completely disorganized, lack of product, lack of cleanliness. Just utter lack of standards. Senior leadership turns in that company every 2 years for the last 10 years . Seems this last one turn over has really brought the store conditions to their knees. There is a way to snap back a stores condition even with lack of product . WOULD NEVER PURCHASE ONLINE ANYMORE. Would like to have the option ZERO STARS. I purchased a family tree 14k bracelet. On the day of estimated delivery I was all day home, I heard the bell (I can hear the bell but I can not open the main door from upstairs so I have to go downstairs) went directly downstairs and was no one and no package was anywhere in the building. The delivery guy just left without leaving the package. After 10 min I receive a email confirmation that my package was delivered. Waited a couple of days just to see if they can re-try to deliver and then called customer service after two calls they would make a lost claim. After that I receive an email from c/s saying that the claim is denied, called them back again to ask why and they never gave me a reason. Asked to double check the claim and try again because I am not asking even for my money I just need the paid what I paid for. They 'tried' again and the second email was informing me that's denied again with no reason. Saks of fifth I am not trying to steal a bracelet for $55 and making all this big deal for nothing, for god sake. I just need my bracelet for what I paid okay and I don't need to call the authorities as you inform okay you call them and come check the cameras I did purchase from you so that is the only place where I can have my answers, and where is the package you can find out with your delivery/ carrier. My money is my money so don't play around with customers. It doesn't feel right having all this headache only for a bracelet that your carrier took it back, stole it and I have this situation for days. Also want to add that I called today to find out why the case is denied and after 40 minutes on hold finally the supervisor RAMON picked up. And without a solution and very bad attitude making fun of my situation he laughed, during I was explaining the situation.I said that I can wait I need a solution and the supervisor hanged up, very rude of a supervisor which can't do even their job. read more

This place is really fun to browse for good deals. I do recommend checking out the clearance racks as you never know what you may find. They have a lot of SPANX here which I like. I almost got a bra except the fit was a little off. They have these really cool tights here too. I did find a Lancome makeup gift set for $30 for eye liner, mascara, and makeup remover. For a Saks Fifth Avenue outlet store, I give it 4 stars - that's what it is, an outlet store! It doesn't have the service and the environment of a full line store, but it is clean, bright, and has a great selection. I once scored Prada wedge boots for under $100. Not all deals are this spectacular, but off fifth has become my new go to for nice new clothes each season. The only thing is, it can be very overwhelming. There are many clothing racks stuffed with merchandise, and as someone with shopping anxiety, it can get to me sometimes. The handbag section isn't as crowded yet still offers plenty of options and deals. They also have offer men's, accessories, jewelry, scares, children clothing, and some housewares. I highly suggest stopping by. The shopping center location is also very nice - a noodle bowl shop, Starbucks, trader joes, home goods, container store, sports authority, papyrus, and a few other stores I can't recall are only a few steps away! read more

Lots of men's suit for sale when I went to visit recently, but very little selection/ size preferences for women. You will have to do some digging before finding something you like. I don't think I've every actually brought something here before, but it's a hit or miss. Racks are organized pretty well and shoe sections is pretty neat. read more

Extremely rude staff. Wasn't greeted by anyone. Went in today looking for baby clothes and this rude salesperson blocked the rack I was looking at with boxes of shoes and metal shelving on a cart. I was forced to stretch over it to look at the rack, then proceeds to yell "excuse me!" As she removes boxes and flirt with her coworker. Poor people skills and lack of training. read more

Staff needs to be re-trained for customer service. I recently went in to purchase a pair of summer sandals. When I got up to the counter to pay, first thing the cashier lady straight up asked me was if I'm going to return the item. If I had the shoe box packed inside a shopping bag or was holding a receipt I'd understand her question, but I had the shoe box wide open, right off from the display. After making it clear that I am intending to make a PURCHASE not a RETURN, she finally rang me up and packed my item in a plastic bag. On my way out, I realized I never got my receipt. So I went back to ask the same lady who just assisted me but she was already preoccupied chatting with another employee and didn't bother to respond to by multiple EXCUSE ME's until her coworker actually cut her off to help me. When I told her that I never got my receipt, she told me the receipt is "already inside the bag". I said I checked already but nothing was there and asked if she could check the register again, but she just walked away saying she put it in the bag. Another employee that was watching all this on the side ended up finding my receipt sitting on the register printer and handed them to me. No apology from ANYONE. The store's unorganized aisles and limited selection never bothered me much but after this experience on a Sunday evening, I sure won't be going back. read more

Received a gift card for saks fifth ave so I decided to use it here to try to get a few things instead of buying one thing at the regular store. The shoe/boot selection was decent. I really liked the purse and accessory selections. The Men's section was a little small, and I felt like the women's section consisted mostly of their Saks branded products (which to me seemed to be lower in quality and not worthy of the prices) Of course with an outlet store like this the selection is going to vary from day to day... Oh, when we went they had a sale of 30% off everything in the store! Plus coupons for $20 off $100 if you join their point club. Staff were a little disorganized. There was a line waiting to check out of 4-5 people, while 2 other employees were standing nearby setting up manequins for display. Maybe they are from different departments or something but a manager shoudl have stepped in and moved some resources to check us out a little faster (we waited 15 minutes to check out) read more

Like everyone says it's a hit or miss. I bought a Helmut Lang dress for $89 (they had 40% off on top of the ticket price) and a French Connection dress for about $83. Problem was is that the FC dress had smudges and pulling of the fabric, so I asked since it was the last size left if they could do something extra for me and I'll take it. Yes it's already on discount but you can always ask right? Well they said no immediately, so I asked if a manager could take a look, she talked over the mic and she said "are we doing anything about stains and pulling of fabric?" and the manager just says "no". Didn't even come over to look at it. I just thought that was very strange, given the Saks customer service in the city is always willing to look or help. The ladies at the dressing room were great if you could find them, there was this one sweet girl running around but I didn't catch her name, I wish I did. She was very personable and tried helping me find a dress for my Holiday company party. Anyways, the lady at the register made a note on the receipt that it was damaged in case I needed to return it, but I still felt like they should do a little MORE, for their customers. I showed a salesgirl a picture of a dress, or something similar, I was looking for when she immediately replied "I'm not working in this department, I'll send somebody else over." Customer service for here is the worst and the mangers are rude and unprofessional the corperate headquarters dont deal with the store you have to get a problem resolved in the store which is impossible. I bought a bag that fell apart and just because i used it they refused to take it back. there affiliated with a huge departement store but have the same return policy as a botique. Go to nordstrom rack instead there more customer oriented and will take back poor products that are poorly made. read more

Am a regular customer at Saks and I have always found the store to carry an excellent collection for all different occasions encountered in daily routine life. I have been visiting the store particularly in garden city as its new, comparatively well arranged and the staff is always courteous and well trained. Yesterday I had purchased a Zegna suit which was accidentally placed in the clearance section. At the cashiers I was informed the price was way much higher then I had expected. The manager was courteous enough to add a further discount of 25%, which still was more than I expected but was kind of him on his part. I ended up buying the suit and a day later in Sunday I get an email that there was a further reduction on the prices. I was furious and went to the store again. Today the manager was a fine lady who was more than happy to give me a further discount and upon my request to give a discount over shoes she added another 25 % on clearance shoes as a goodwill gesture. I ended up paying 89 dollars for a pair which was priced at 499. Well that's some bargain. Would definitely recommend this store. Keep up the good work. read more

My typical go-to items at these type of higher end department store outlets are handbags, shoes, and sunglasses because I find the best deals for these. The inventory here is okay, but I personally find more and better items at Nordstrom Rack & Bloomingdale's Outlet next door. The handbag section is disorganized, and I was unhappy with their shoe selection. Overall, there is really nothing here for me that I can't find at a better deal online. However, I'll continue to keep my eyes open for storewide sales and promotions. read more

If I can give them no stars I would. The employees on the floor have no regard for the shoppers. Stood online for 20 minutes because there was only 2 registers open and one lady was stuck was some lady that was using non-applicable coupons. I asked a sales associate on the floor if they can get someone else to open a register and he said these are the only two people "that know how to use the register." 10 minutes later two ladies show up and begin ringing people up. I give this store 0 stars!but had to pick 1 in order to post this. This store is like the ghetto version of the real Saks Fifth Ave Never will the main store treat their customers they way I was. My mom and I have been regular customers for years and have spent thousands of dollars there. Today they excused me if stealing the dress I was wearing as I was outside waiting for my mom playing with my kid. I bought the dress at Bloomingdales and when I got dressed in the morning I put it on without taking tag off to make sure it fit and completely forgot. I told them to check their cameras and they will see I walked in with it. As one girl (who looked like a bum off the street) went to check the cameras in the back I pulled out my receipt for dress and showed to manager. I even asked him to scan my tag and he will see it wasn't from saks. He then said it's ok no need. I also asked to return the money I spent there and he could barely look me in the eye with a pathetic "I'm sorry" It was right at front desk where everyone was looking. I have never been to humiliated. I understand they have to do protocol however they should've explained their protocol and been more humble after realizing what they did. On top of that you have to wait in an extremely long line because they never have enough cashiers on hand. Worse customer service for a so called high end store.
