Saks OFF 5th is an off-price department store chain that has dozens of stores across the U.S. and Canada. This specific store is located in The Block Northway in the suburbs of Pittsburgh. It has two floors: The first level contains men's clothing and shoes, and the second level contains women's clothing, shoes, and accessories and some home goods. During my recent visit, most of my walking was around the second level. As I browsed the merchandise, two employees said hello to me. I appreciated that they did not ignore me. I saw merchandise from brands and designers such as 7 for All Mankind, Calvin Klein, Karl Lagerfeld, and Mac Duggal. The store was having a 25%-off sale, so the final prices were fairly low. I bought two sweaters in early November as Christmas gifts.I recently learned that one of the planned recipients had become allergic to wool, so I called the store about returning the sweater. Originally, the sales clerk who helped me told me that I could return them until January under a holiday refund policy. When I called today to confirm this, the manager was very rude and said that I was mistaken. She said she couldn't do anything about it, including overwriting the system to at least give me a company credit. With service like this, I'm not surprised that this particular store will be closing in January. read more

I came in here to find a simple grey button down shirt. Somehow, it was the only thing that they weren't carrying at that moment. I searched and searched but to no avail. What made matters worse was that I could not find anyone to help me. After a good fifteen minutes of browsing every shelf, rack and table, I decided I had had enough and started to head out. I was super impressed with this store! I went on a whim while out in the North Hills recently. I have heard great things from friends and my boyfriend about this place, and decided to check it out since I had time to browse. First of all, the store is very bright and organized. When I heard "outlet" I pictured unorganized random items mixed together. This is a full on store! The workers were so nice and kept asking if you needed help. I'm not sure if they get a commission or if they were just actually friendly and offering their services. It wasn't pushy or sales-y at all. I really enjoyed looking around. I admired the purses and shoes for a loooong time! lol They had great fall boots that were reasonably priced considering the brands and quality. I ended up buying a pair of expensive sunglasses (expensive meaning more than my usual $20 cheap pairs) and I am obsessed with them. The real price should have been $200 more than what I got them for. At the checkout the cashier found the matching sunglasses case that they go in. I joined their rewards program and now I am spammed by their offers in my email, but I'm sure I can unsubscribe. I can't wait to go back! read more

I might be over Nordstrom Rack. I feel like I find more items I like here. Especially in the shoe department! I've been able to snag some super discounted Kate Spade flats. I always seem to find the right pair of shoes for the different seasons when I'm strolling the racks. I wish their handbag section was slightly bigger, seems the selection is limited, but not by too much. I also wish they had a bigger kids section. The clothes are always cute, but it's so small! I love the jewelry section. It's actually pretty big. So if you're a baubles lover, you'll love this! The clothes section is decent too, although I feel like that's the last thing I look at. I really don't find too many items I love or want to drop the money on. Shoes is really where it's at here! read more

I don't understand why they close early - people who can afford to shop here don't even have time to because they're closed. Also, stop selling clothes people can find in regular department stores. Otherwise, the staff is wonderful. read more

Four years later I am still pissed at Saks Fifth Avenue corporate for closing the Downtown Pittsburgh store after being open for 60 years but, I digress. Saks just opened its second Off 5th Pittsburgh location on October 13, 2016. We don't deserve to have a full fledged Saks Fifth Avenue store anymore but, here take another outlet store as a consolation prize. I do prefer this location over the other location at the Tanger Outlets in Washington, PA as this new location is much, much closer to me. This location is much more modern, organized and well thought out as well. I actually felt like I was in a Saks Fifth Avenue store while here. The store is set up the total opposite to the Nordstrom Rack next door. The first floor is men's clothing, shoes and accessories and the second floor is women's clothing, shoes, handbags, jewelry, accessories, house wares and children's clothing. The women's area is pretty much the whole second floor and had a good bit of designer clothing and some great high fashion handbags and walls of shoes. The men's floor is about a quarter the size of the women's floor. I am the label whore of my family and didn't find to much that caught my attention however the stand outs I found were True Religion Jeans (People really still wear them?) Joe's Jeans, Versace belts, ties and scarves and Tumi travel bags. This is the place to go if you are looking for a designer suit though as they had tons and tons of them. I also found some beautiful Bruno Magli dress shoes in my size. The customer service was exceptional as anytime I had a question someone was nearby eager to help. I guess this location will have to fill my Saks Fifth Avenue needs until I can get back in a regular store in Ohio, D.C., Philly, New York, Virginia or Michigan. read more

Horrible customer service... went to return my shoes I had for a week, and I was told to come back in the weekend when a manager returns. I came back again, asked for the manager and he was completely rude. The receipt says the shoes could be returned if "defected" I told him multiple times that there was a bump inside the one shoe that was giving me blisters and he didn't even check to see if there was anything wrong with it. I would give them a 0 if I could. Great way to try and retain a customer. Horrible management. FYI - this is the first rating I've ever gave in my life. I think you need to remove the perfume and cologne some where else. So people with severe asthma can breath without feeling ILL!

My last visit to this shopping plaza, Saks was not open. I visited today and was quite impressed. The store is very large and offers a lot of clothing and shoes (& a home decor area). I looked downstairs with my bf and they had really nice mens clothing, casual and fancier, not to mention shoes and luggage. The deals weren't bad. I just browsed in the woman's walking to the parking lot. I wasn't in the clothes shopping mood.. mainly because I had a feeling id be there a while since the men's selection was so nice. I noticed adorable sboes though. I find this store has nicer options than Nordstrom Rack. Just my opinion though. read more

After underwhelming visits to the Off 5th in Washington at the Tanger Outlets, I wasn't expecting much from this new location. Therefore, I took my time to visit and just stopped by for the first time this week. However, I was delightfully surprised by the store itself, the layout, the merchandising, and the product selection. Though I love the Nordstrom Rack next door, Saks Off 5th definitely provides a more elevated selection and merchandising that Rack doesn't have. I look forward to spending more time here in the future (when I hopefully have more money to spend). read more
