I spent the whole wedding weekend hyping it up to my bridesmaids (and yes, it met the hype). If you book a tasting, be sure to show up hungry! In May 2024, I volunteered to hand out lunch boxes at Lena's Kitchen somewhere in SW Houston. Fast forward to now, I learned about this location and at 99 Ranch Market in West Houston. It's my goal to visit that location this summer. Coming to this location was a little tricky. I had to park on the top floor of the garage. I couldn't believe how friendly everyone from valet person to security guards to the moment I walked in. The employee gave me a quick introduction to the menu. It's fairly simple and I grabbed the lunch combo option: grilled chicken banh mi and vegetables potstickers. Everything was delicious including the water infused with cucumber and lemon. We ordered two galbi premium boxes around 1 pm on a weekday and it took about 15-20 minutes for them to prepare it. They were also out of kimbop at that time. We brought the food home and it was still warm after the drive. Every single part of the box was DELICIOUS. We ate our boxes fully clean because of how good it was. The galbi has an authentic taste and they gave quite a few pieces so I was very full. I loved the shrimp on top of the rice and wish they gave even more haha. All of the sides paired so well with the meat and I hope they come out with the sides individualy so we can buy some to go next time as well. All in all this place is AMAZING and so delicious. I wasn't a fan of those little anchovies (the texture was off putting). They were hard little fish. The bulgogi was fresh but a bit dry for my palate. I loved their purple rice and Kim chi. I also tried their beef gimbap. It was tasty but I think the flavor would be elevated if there was some type of sauce with it.
