This is a smaller park that features a pathway that has several metal sculptures. However, the gravel is wearing away on the paths and showing the tarp below it. The lighting wires are exposed on the path as well. Along with some branches, it seems like it hasn't been tended to in a while. I think the sculpture of the crow is the neatest thing here. Parking is unmarked.

An interesting sculpture of face masks on crutches by local artist Troy Kelley. Titled "Handicapped Masks"

My husband and I have visited the Salado sculpture garden twice over the past few years. This past time we did so specifically to take photos for our photography club. The gardens are easy to miss, as the sign is set back from the road a bit. They're worth a quick stop if you happen to be in Salado, but not worth going out of your way to visit. The sculptures are mostly metal, many with interesting textures and forms. They are set in a rather disorganized grassy space and not particularly well maintained. There is a concrete walkway for part of the area. There are lots of spider webs on the sculptures, as well as other natural consequences associated with outdoor art. Most of the sculptures are modern in feel and subject to interpretation. And most appear to be for sale. All of the sculptures near ground level are touchable, so the area is quite suitable for children to visit. The garden is unattended and there's no admission fee.

Sign near garden. Hard to spot and is across the street from gas/ATM/hardware store. Close to highway 35

I covered much about this garden before in other reviews. This update is about how nice it was to see the positive changes here. Last visit the grass was overgrown and many sculptures were removed. I was afraid that the garden was going away and was sad as my wife and I have a bit of history here. Today I was pleasantly surprised. The garden has come back and in many respects is improved over the old version. So glad everything is going great here.

The trails are limited, the Garden needs more community support. I did enjoy learning about the Garden and frisbee golf.

"Sunny Day, sweepin' the clouds awayOn my way to where the air is sweet"…read more Perfect way to enjoy Memorial weekend Sunday...the weather was just right and with a nice breeze to enjoy the gardens. The customer service here is always kind and laid back. Always appreciate how helpful staff is too because we turned in a lost key and they went right into action and already had been alerted. The ground are beautiful and it's really peaceful. There are chairs and benches placed throughout the grounds if you choose to take a seat and ponder this is the perfect opportunity. The flowers and many plants are just enjoyable and beautiful. It reminds you that flowers can still bloom in the scorching Texas heat.

Sometimes in life you have to be opportunistic. After boating we saw a sign that stated, "Orchid…read moreshow today". Who doesn't love orchids?! So our car turned right into the Austin Botanical Garden. Cost per car was $6 ($2 discount from living in Austin...score!) The garden was peaceful and serene in the heart of downtown Austin. We spent most of our time in the Japanese gardens, one our favorites. The gardens are nicely laid out and enjoyable to navigate. The solace that pours over you makes the visit more than worth it. The tranquil Japanese garden with koi ponds and stone bridges almost puts you in a meditative state. Informational signs line the garden were clear at making it easy to learn about native Texas plants, sustainable gardening, and seasonal blooms. Now for the orchid show...we thought it was going to be a display of orchids. It was actually a competitive show. Wow...so many beautiful orchids...a fortuitous encounter.
