While all of them look more or less the same, this big name pharmacy has made one of their many stores quite unique. Inside La Botica, you can find memorabilia from some of the fist pharmacies in Santiago. The architecture is beautiful, with tall ceilings and dark wooden fixtures you feel like you have been transported back in time. Although they sell the same things in any one of their other pharmacies, the experience when buying here is just a bit more special, more like you are buying from an individual as opposed to a large corporation. Definitely worth coming here the next time you are in downtown and need some aspirin.

Apparently they have locations all over Santiago. The incredible thing about this store is that a pharmacist helps you with finding what you need. I wanted something for immune system building and also to keep my kids calm on the plane ride home. Having this nice gentleman find the products I needed (kept behind the pharmacy counter like prescription medicine in the US) was such a timesaver and so reassuring. He found multiple items for us, and we chose a couple. I was impressed with the layout of the store, the labeling of products and the displays; everything was clean, beautiful and easy to find. Thank you to our pharmacist for making our visit simple, easy and effective.

We were excited to make a picnic dinner for our arrival night in Santiago. So we came to this Lider…read moreExpress, which has a smallish supermarket upstairs and more services, like a pharmacy, downstairs. (We did not go downstairs.) Owing to the supermarket's very small produce section, we ended up with bread, cheese, a banana, a tomato, and a sorry-looking mango. The fresh bread was so-so, though it was definitely fresh. The ATM did not work.
