They know their product and have a collection of some rare books. The place is PACKED with books. It's a bit overwhelming, but they have a bit of everything and since it's been there a while, the collection is huge. Our friend managed to find some text books that were out of print. He was excited about those. It is definitely one of those places you need to spend a long time in. Easily 2 hours if there is stuff you really want to look into. Great to stop by if you are a big reader!

About a 5 minute wait, if that. I purchased a 9oz "Night Garden" candle, which smells so good. I also bought a mini torch sage, matches, and two incense matches in French vanilla. The ladies were very helpful and polite, they answered all of our questions and offered further assistance. I definitely recommend making this one of your stops if you're in the Salem area.

Ravenstone is absolutely gorgeous inside, with the friendliest, most knowledgeable staff. It's an oasis in downtown Lynn. And it's bigger than I expected, with the main shop on the first floor and then an upstairs area selling books, a room for magick items, and space for readings. The first floor has an impressive array of crystals/gemstones, candles, jewelry, beauty, bath and body items, and more. The candle collection is lovely and picked up an exquisite vetiver and tonka candle. I also bought the most perfect piece of amethyst. It usually comes in within a couple days. The prices are good, never full list price (new books are usually 20% off, used are 50% off list price), and the condition of the used books is usually very good. I've gotten children's books, young adult novels, books for required reading in college lit classes, sci fi, horror, noir, chick lit, graphic novels, etc. at Annie's. Pretty much any genre you're looking for, she has. There are even out of print titles, so check here if you can't find something at one of the big chains. Ask for help finding your book & Andrea will always know exactly where what your looking for is. I think she uses the force. Where do all the used books come from? The customers. You can bring in any paper back books & get credit to use on your purchase. The credit never expires, but you have to keep track of your slip because there's no way to look it up. If you're anything like me, you might want to use your credit right on the spot to prevent losing out on savings. One more thing: if you bring in a truck load of books don't expect the store to take all of them at once. Apparently there's a limit (not a set in stone one, but whatever) to how many trades they'll take a day. This protects the bottom line, I guess. And if that's what it takes to have a cool little bookstore in Beverly, it's worth it. Still 5 stars. Almost forgot: it's right across from the North Beverly T stop & Nick's Roast Beef (yum). Parking is out back and there is a 2nd entrance back there. Go get some books!
