What I love most about Ark Valley PT is the people. Leanora and Melinda are both great to work with! They made the sometimes-difficult process of physical rehabilitation a light, friendly, helpful, and effective experience. I spent most of my time with Leanora for recovery from a hip labral tear, meniscus tear, and MCL tear. Her extensive knowledge and experience was evident during my treatment. She was very thoughtful in her methodology towards my treatment including tweaking the protocol when needed. Leanora not only took great care of me while in her clinic, but also checked in on me to see how I was doing and to make sure that I had the correct exercises to work with on my own. I am incredibly pleased with the treatment and care I received - and I am doing great now! My recovery is proof of the great care and attention I received at Ark Valley PT.

Personally, I have used chiropractic for 40 years due to chronic musculoskeletal pain. Almost every other chiropractor always uses the same few maneuvers. Dr. Addante spent at least 30-45 minutes asking me questions, and reviewing my medical history before doing anything. He has solved my acute pain problems more than once, and I feel he has kept me from having surgery that would have been recommended by traditional medical professionals. I have referred many people to him, and they are all 100% committed patients of his. His wife, I understand is equally as talented. Medical professionals can't please everyone, and they are not infallible. But, Dr. Adante in my opinion is one in thousands and Salida is VERY fortunate to have him caring for us.

2 stars because the staff I have been able to speak with are very kind and do everything they can…read moreto be helpful. Otherwise, this would have been 1 star. Here is my issue. With all of the talk about how we need to create more access to behaviorial health care and how we need to remove barriers for people to receive care for mental health, Solvista has decided that they will do "open access scheduling" for establishing care. So, you get emailed all of the paperwork to get enrolled (not sure what happens if you are homeless, without internet, computer illiterate, etc.....I guess it just becomes another barrier to receiving care) and complete that and return it, then you are enrolled. Then, you are able to call on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday morning and cross your fingers that there is an opening on that same day that also fits your schedule where you can be seen for an intake appointment. You cannot schedule ahead of time, it has to be done this way. So, I called this morning to get my daughter scheduled and I get the message on the Canon City office's line which states to leave a message and they will return your call the next business day. I left a message saying I was trying to schedule an open access appointment for the same-day, not sure how that is going to work if they aren't returning calls until the next day. They did call back relatively quickly and explained that they have meetings on Wednesday mornings, so that is why the message said that. The staff member was very polite and kind and apologetic. But, hey, why not have meetings on days when there is no open access scheduling? Or after lunch when people aren't trying to call and get a confusing message saying their call will be returned the next day after being told multiple times about this "same day" intake scheduling requirement? Anyway, they then tried to transfer me to the Salida office, as that is where we live. There was no one available there, so I'm told that they will call me back hopefully "within the hour" and advised that if I don't hear back in the next hour or so I should just call back and start it all over again. I did get a call back from the Salida office pretty quickly, and was told that they are ready to go for the intake RIGHT NOW. Now, maybe I misunderstood in all of these conversations or maybe it wasn't explained properly (I'm certainly willing to accept that I could have misunderstood this bizarre system), but they tell me that they are ready to do the intake now, at this moment. I'm trying to get this intake done for my daughter who is not at my house at this moment and won't be back until about 11. So, I tell them this and clarify that my only options is to call back when we are sitting here ready to - POSSIBLY - go, and hope that our call can get from Canon City to Salida and that in that same moment a counselor will be available for an intake appointment? Yes, that is exactly the expectation. And, all of this for a Zoom appointment. I could have done a Zoom appointment with 100s of online counselling programs. I'm not sitting at my house all day with my daughter waiting for Solvista to hopefully jive with our schedule at some indeterminate point of time in the future when the stars magically align to do a Zoom appointment. This is the CRAZIEST system I have ever encountered. A little background, my profession is in nursing and my most recent history has been in care management and care coordination. I literally get 100s of people set up with care outside of the agency that I work for (which is typically the refering agency). My job is to help people receive the follow up care that they need with the specialty clinics where they need to be seen, and assist them with navigaing various health care systems. If I can't understand this scheduling system and make it work, I promise....there's something wrong. I've dealt with a lot of different systems. This is by far the worst. Additionally, my daughter is not in crisis. We are simply seeking proactive mental heatlh care to address some gaps in conflict resolution and life skills. If we were a family on the border of crisis, this inabililty to get care with the right person at the right time would have thrown us into a tailspin. The Salida office did say they would call back to see if they could schedule something in the future to avoid this "maybe we can do the intake when you call back, maybe we can't" scenario. In the time it took for them to call back, I scheduled with on online counselling system for this afternoon and wrote this review. I didn't answer the call back so not sure what they came up with. I want to be very clear....my review is NOT a reflection on the staff at Solvista. Every person I spoke with did the best they could to help me within the confines of this ineffective system. Aside from that, my advise to Solvista is DO BETTER!
