Do NOT go here! The front desk women are quite rude and unhelpful and just dont care about the patients or their issues. Doctors here are ok, but it's really hot or miss depending on who you see. And either way they dont make up for the rude front desk women. Better luck going somewhere else! read more

Been going there for years, great doctors, good staff, billing issues are easily solved. Love the familiar faces of the people who have been there for decades. As an established patient, easy to get an appt the same day. Parking is rough, go early to find a spot. Lab work facility and xray facility located next door making it a one stop & a pharmacy as well if yoy don't have an already established pharmacy. read more

I have been seeing Dr Hoffman basically since I was born, and I usually have a good experience at this practice but I can see why people have very frustrating experiences. First, parking here for the practice can be an utter nightmare if the practice is busy and in addition to the surrounding offices. Secondly, the front staff are notoriously rude at times. I have had my run ins with them, though this particular visit was hassle free. I can't believe however that as long as they have been here and as wide as heir patient base is here in salinas hat they are still on paper patient recording system. Nothing it seems has been computerized or modernized in this office in the 27 years I've been coming here for my medical check ups. When you eventually do go back to a waiting room you can sometimes expect quite a wait before you actually see the doctor and then the meeting with him or her tends to be very brief so I try to have a list of topics I want to talk about prior to going in so that I don't forget anything. Otherwise I've waited all this time and laid a copay literally for five minutes of a diagnosis that most of the time I already could do myself and just needed medication for. So make it count. The doctors themselves though are great and I have always had great experiences with dr Hoffman and Cambiere. When calling to get a refill for a prescription expired make sure to leave all of the information they say to leave on the phone, especially if you are in need of the medication quickly. Oh and often times the office is closed to phone calls prior to their posted closing time. read more

I've been coming to this practice for a few years and never had any issues but recently switched to seeing Carrie Reader in this office. I cannot say enough great things about her. Dr. Hoffman has been my dr. for over 15 years, and I love him to pieces, but his office staff, NOT SO MUCH. I was "greeted" if you can call it that, by a young woman who didn't even bother to look up, but just said "APPOINTMENT" in a robotic monontone. Then she gave me the "options" of A) paying up front to see Dr. Hoffman (because my injury resulted from a car accident) or (B) not seeing anyone and rescheduling (after waiting 2 days to get in) , so i could go home and come back with a copy of my automobile policy to prove they would not cover the visit. When I said I'm in too much pain to reschedule, she said, "that's a good thing because I already billed your credit card...." My insurance company said this his HIGHLY against CA law, as my health insurance should have been billed, and when/if they denied to cover it, my auto policy would have paid. When I called SFP back to speak to the officer manager, a message was taken and no one has bothered to get back to me. We've been coming here for over 15 years. Now that they have changed hands we can no longer get an appointment with our Primary Doctor. They tell us it's because of their new system. So we are now pushed to doctors we have never seen. When asked how do they know our background i told they can see our hard copy. I asked so do they look at it as they walk in or do they take the time like our Primary and go over our history. I'm so unhappy with this new company that took over. read more

My wife had a severe pain in her elbow and we made emergency appointment Because the onset of the pain was for no particular reason and I'm wondering if there's something going on like an arthritis or a lupus or something that's very dangerous and Would like to find out as soon as possible what it is. When he started to examine her he was very rude and said that he could not complete the exam because she didn't do exactly what he wanted at that exact moment put down the clipboard and walked out said not one other word to my wife no 1 apologize for his behavior no 1 reschedule an appointment with another person they just left her in the Room and I want to say that this is very very poor procedure 0 stars for doctor Alarcon. read more

I'm extremely disappointed in this office and will not be returning as a "new patient." I have been coming to Salinas Family Practice for years and recently called in to see a doctor due to an extremely painful sinus infection. The receptionist who took my call lacked empathy and was quick to dismiss me. She said that, because I had not been in since 2013, I was no longer considered a patient. I now had the option of downloading and filling out the new patient application. Once complete, they will decide if they can take me as a patient again. So, they are penalizing me (a cancer survivor) for being healthy for the past 4 years. Thanks doc! I'll definitely be shopping for a new general practitioner and Salinas Family Practice will NOT be on my list. read more

Went in as a new patient recently.Requested for Gabriel Alarcon to see me I was ask to fill a form to see if he will see me.Never done that before & he approve me went for a physical & a wk later I was discharge for having too many symptoms.When has it become a practice to discharge a patient for having to many symptoms.I was discharge for being too sick basically. If that's the case don't call yourself a doctor.this location requested all my medical records to be transfer & now that put me in a bind that the old dr. Now can't not see me either so because of this "doctor" this facility put me in a tough spot as I have no provider.Why have me fill forms to be seen then discharge. read more

I have been going here for over 12 years as a patient. I am dumbfounded how rude most of the front desk women are! On the phone or in person. They have attitude when you ask a question or huff and puff because they had figure something out! Today I was put on hold 4-5 times and HUNG UP ON twice! This happens every. Single. Time. It's disgusting and rude and pathetic. If you women can't help patients will a smile on your face, work somewhere else! If I didn't love and respect and appreciate my doctor I would've left this place years and years ago! All because of their rude and lazy staff. And to leave messages with the nurse?? I have been coming to Salinas Valley practice now almost 10 years from the minute I stepped into the office I knew I was gonna like it they're very welcoming very professional and my appointment with Dr. Cambier got me out of pain right away . I had been seeing another doctor for my knee pain going on two years and did not know about Cortizone shots , The shots work and have helped me get away from surgery and out of a lot of pain for quite a few years. Anytime I call they get me right in , anytime I need a prescription i just call , Salinas Valley practice it's an awesome medical professional doctors office ! I just wish I knew about it sooner my daughter goes there , My daughter in laws mom and dad goes there . The waiting time is almost always 30+ minutes even with an appointment. The women at front desk are rude and the parking sucks. But I've been coming to this doctor's office my whole life and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I've had great experiences with all the MD's and PA's. I like Dr Cambier and his bedside manner but his office staff is terrible. I never get returned phone calls, I have to wait weeks for a prior authorization for my insurance that they were supposed to submit and never did. now I have to cancel my specialty appointment because of it. I will be switching Primary care doctors just so that I can deal with decent staff. I am in the healthcare field so this type of service is ridiculous and unacceptable. read more

The doctors are OK but the staff in the front are horrible and useless I was refused an appointment because they stated it was illegal to see my doctor because I was stressed to the point of being unable to sleep or eat and I needed help but because I said it was stress from work they refused to even let me talk to my doctor period. Workman's compensation deals with work related injury not work related stress or the symptoms of it. This is not eligible for workman's compensation nor has it been reported as workman's compensation. The staff is beyond horrible. read more

I had been taking my family here for yrs until an incident with the office manager when I questioned a 'policy' they had and she couldn't explain why or the process and hung up on me and that is ok to treat your longtime customer that way seems to be the 'policy' at this office. The staff is the rudest staff I have ever encountered. And they they hold a 'higher standard' treating their clients that way?! That is what I was told by one of the Drs. Now how the hell does that make sense?!! When I questioned that then I was discharged....haha. What?!! What a joke! Found an awesome doc that actually cares and less than a month later my daughter was diagnosed with scoliosis. 70percent curve!!! Wtf how come these 'fantastic' docs never caught it?!! Especially when she seemed to be in there at least monthly for one thing or another! And she had feet issues so he checked her spine often!!! Negligence!!! Worthlessness!! I'm still in shock! After leaving my name and phone number at 8:30 this morning I hadn't received a return call by 2pm so I called again! This time I was told since I hadn't made an appointment in 3 years I would have to come by and pick up an APPLICATION for consideration! I explained to the lady on the phone that I've been a patient there for over 30 years. Apparently being healthy these past 3 years has presented a problem. Not only was the lady I spoke to on the phone incredibly rude, she lacked any sort of empathy. Shame on you Dr. Hoffman for treating your fortunately healthy patients in such a manner. Why aren't your patients notified of this "so called" policy in advance? Final question... why is this policy even in place? The relationship between a doctor and his patients is a very special one. He listens carefully, offers recommendations and referrals to the right specialists and comes up with a personalized plan. He is very empathetic, thoughtful and smart. I've been seeing the doctors at this office for years. Dr. Cambier and the PA's are great. I especially like how he is easy to talk to. Now, when it comes to the front office, they aren't exactly pleasant nor have they ever been. Besides one girl that wears glasses and checks people in (I can't recall her name) the rest are rude. They never smile, always talk about their personal issues out loud and make it seem as if they are forced to work there. If waiting in the room for the doctor, you can hear how they act completely different around the doctors. It's a shame, otherwise this office would be perfect! Even picking up a prescription can make you feel awkward. The older hispanic female that works this window always looks mad, hardly comes across as happy and is very rude. I think it's time for a staff change. read more
