I would give Tyler Heart Institute of Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula 4 stars. My experience was mixed. From my first interaction, Bee at the front desk showed professionalism, compassion, and a clear commitment to patient wellbeing. That positive start was important. However, as soon as I was escorted through the first door by a tall, slender, older blonde staff member to apply an extended wear monitor, the experience changed. While the procedure was performed correctly, her demeaning behavior and lack of warmth made the interaction uncomfortable and upsetting. It was disappointing to encounter this level of unprofessionalism after a strong initial impression. I hope the institute addresses this, as the skill level of their staff is evident, but respectful and compassionate communication should be consistent throughout the patient experience. read more

My mother is supposed to have a coordinator named Blanca but she is never available when we call. Luckily there is other staff that is always available to help us. I have been coming here for quite a few years now, Dr. Gorman is my primary care physician, and I absolutely love him. Majority of the staff I think is very well mannered in the back of office, but some of the receptionist are a little bit snooty, and rude. I have never had issues with medical assistance receptionist in the back or any of the doctors. Reading some of the reviews makes me kind of sad. I am really happy that I have not experienced this ever in the last five years. But they could definitely get a couple of better behavior receptionist at the front. Montage Medical Group is a large very large medical group with offices in at least three locations. Carmel, Ryan Ranch & Marina. They are huge without a directory for their patients to hear all the doctors in the group! When you call you get a machine- not a human- at some point you might get the message you with get a call back in 24 hours. If you need a prescription now that might take 48 hours, one thing might take 72 hours. If you really need help, call 911 or go to the closest emergency. Now why do I need Montage? If it could take up to three days and the send in the emergency or urgent care center, why is it I need Montage? ? ? read more

Best place for lab work hands down. I'm surprised to see people haven't noted the excellence of the phlebotomists and the quick turnaround on lab results. I see some results posted the same day. The cost is the same as LabCorp or Quest if you have insurance. Medical billing is weird, the amount can sound high, but when it's lowered to the price agreed upon with insurance it's a small fraction of the original charge and copy's are small to none. No complaints about doctor care BUT, if you need forms filled out, particularly disability forms they will take forever! You will have to keep calling for an update as they don't answer online messages. The department incharge of completing these firms will never call you back to provide you with an estimated time of completion nor will management ever call you (they are never available) when you ask for a call back. If you need forms filled out expect 3-4 weeks, not that they have ever told me that's their "turn around time" that's just been our experience. read more

I now have two doctors at Montage Medical Group. Dr. Subat, pulmonary, he SAVED my life. I had been very sick with asthma and sinus infections. The day I saw him, he wanted to hospitalize me. But, he listened and we agreed that if in 24 hours I got worse I would call him. He called me twice a day for the next 5 days. Over the next several months it took a lot to completely get me well. Then I got a lung infection. Again, he was on it and I got well! Thursday is my 70th birthday, I would have not gotten here without Dr. Subat. Dr. Cannon is my primary doctor. He kept closely informed with Dr. Subat during my illness. Today I had a video conference with his PA. Nicolas was great. All of the staff is very responsive. Dr augrwal and systems leave long time patients without care when they need it most. Might as well go to an ER. Here we play telephone with a nurse trying to reach the doctor. Never once walked into this building and walked out with a problem solved. Takes forever to reach the "primary care" provider, they provide NOTHING but headache and wait times. read more

It's a good thing the prescription is for my sugar level and not life threatening, oh wait yes, if unchecked it can be life threatening. Good job folks. I am new a patient to this primary care practice. My provider has been great, however the prescription handling has been a complete joke. When calling to inquire why I have not received my medication for going on two weeks after my appointment the staff are neither helpful nor concerned about getting the situation fixed. They even implied I the patient should have called to inform them there was an issue at the pharmacy. So I the patient should tell you how to do your job? I typically go to Montage in Carmel, but they were booked 4 months in advance. They reccomended going to the Ryan Ranch location and helped me boom a video appointment. I did not receive the video link, so I had to call the Ryan Ranch location and the receptionist, Shelly was super helpful. Dr. MECKEL was my doctor via video and he was SUPER nice. He took his time and asked questions and told me his reccomendations. I felt very comfortable with him. Together we came up with a plan for treatment. Dr. Torba is a great PCP. I have felt dismissed by many "experts" but he is knowledgeable & has good ideas on who can help if he can't. I would recommend. My previous primary care physician closed her practice last year, leaving me scrambing for a replacement. Other doctors either charged a high annual fee or don't accept my insurance. I feel fortunate to have found the Montage Group and Dr. Jon-Peter Meckel. Dr. Meckel is wonderful! He listens to me, and provides the best care possible. I couldn't possibly have hoped for a better doctor. As for the Montage facilities, they are clean, bright, open, and new. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. I cannot think of a single negative thing to say about this medical practice. They truly cover all the bases in a very positive way. read more

Dr. Nupur Sinha is probably the WORST doctor I've ever seen. She came into my last appointment yelling at me that I had not been taking my medications when I already was taking the same medications from a previous doctor - so I WAS taking them, but she wasn't getting the kickback for writing the new script. She continued to attack me not even letting me describe my symptoms and cutting me off with everything I tried to say (when I was already having breathing problems.) I had a reaction to a previous med, and she got angry about that saying I was just refusing to take it. THEN she admitted to me that she had re-prescribed a chemical 3 different times in different forms that had caused me to vomit each time because she stated she didn't believe me each time about my reaction. THAT IS CALLED POISONING YOUR PATIENT. She should be banned from health care. read more

If I began to list my complaints I would have to write three pages! Montage medical group is a classic example of fractured medicine! They have a different specialist for every ailment the problem is they do not communicate with each other and so your body is not treated as a whole! Second item! It seems as if the doctors are monitored with how much time they can spend on you and generally I always felt like I was cut short phone calls were not returned prescriptions were delayed in refills and there were specific cases of obvious lying to avoid fault and when I complained show much I was dismissed as a client...... leaving me in a very stressful and dangerous situation!! I almost felt as if I was living in North Korea! I did not feel like I was being treated as a person at all. I am so sorry I got involved with them... I have an appointment to see my heart doctor two days from now. He had given no order for any test to be done before my appointment so I assumed it was just a regular check up. I got a call from a staff member this morning that they just discovered he has ordered an ultrasound of my heart and they wanted me to rush in before the appointment with him on Friday to get it done. As my schedule is very tight and my days are full I could not do that. So I had to call to schedule the ultrasound which is now in October, and then I had to call back to reschedule the appointment with my doctor for after the ultrasound. When I called to reschedule the appointment the woman was shocked and was acting like I was having a heart attack on the spot and how could I cancel the appointment. So much confusion and unnecessary phone calls on my part. In the past my doctor would schedule my appointment, I would receive a notice from his assistant when my ultrasound was scheduled always in plenty of time for me to work out my schedule. I am very happy with my Dr and his staff. Professional and caring I am happy to be part of the practice. The center's front desk staff is another story. Long story short, grin and bear it when they insist that you fill out multiple forms with info you know, according to their own app, is already in the system. I unfortunately left a personal item in the waiting room. This was my mistake and I alone am responsible for keeping track my belongings. However the contradictory and confusing info I recieved on office protocal for lost items, the procedure for me to check if my item had been found and how staff communicates with each other about lost items leaves me shaking my head. read more

At first they seem very nice. Front desk is nice clean environment friendly staff. However, they keep pressuring me to get the COVID-19 vaccine. They don't stop emailing me about it or calling me about it. The fact is I am pregnant and I don't know how my body will react to this vaccine. I got in side effects before from vaccines. I told them no several times and I told them why. Why can't they understand that. Why do they need to ask the same question over and over again. I do not see any point in it. And it's wasting my time and their time. I do not think highly of these people. Another thing is I cannot wear a mask I got lightheaded and dizzy. They give me a note that I can't wear went outside. It makes no sense. Because there's so much space outside. I need to not wear one inside. If I get dizzy and lightheaded it will be on them. And they can get sued. But we all know Doctors win Case because they have lawyers get paid buchu bucks. So that's what I think of them. And I know I'm probably gonna get a lot of grief on this. But save it. The staff is friendly, helpful and efficient and the (fairly new) center is always clean and welcoming. The doctors I've seen here are excellent so far, as well as their technicians. I'm so happy to have finally found the right fit for my medical needs. My recommendation is based on my personal experience, I'm sure a lot would depend on the physician you are seeing. Montage as a medical center is excellent, but physicians have to be rated on an individual basis- ie: Healthgrades.com, etc. read more
