It's only a few miles long and there wasn't any parking to speak of on Etsel Road so I just parked on the street in the neighborhood and didn't get towed or anything so I guess it's fine. You can also take the trail into Fairfax City and get something to eat or whatever. They also have a coyote warning sign but I didn't see any, not sure if I should be disappointed and grateful! This is a worth checking out if you're in the area and have an hour or so to spend going for a walk.

Yes it was their property, but the bike hills and rope swing were so much fun. This is still a good neighborhood park. It connects Old Lee Hills with Fairview, and the paths are well maintained. You'll enjoy hiking your dog here, or biking through it. There is a lot of wildlife in here. It's a nice spot to see deer, or other animals who do coexist with us. There's a stream with small fish too. Hoping the city will always maintain this so well, along with volunteers who lovingly handle invasive plants. There are some benches too. I recommend sitting here and relaxing sometimes. It's healthy and a good place for it.

Tubing Review: We had an amazing time. Was is exhausting,…read moreyes. Worth it, yes! Owen was great. He was a great driving the stick shift bus back to the outfitters. It was nice being dropped off and picked up. We did have issues with our card online, but when I called in to book, Nancy was helpful. She got us all situated and sent an email to confirm. We filled out waivers online which was a breeze. We watched a quick safety video, picked up our lifevest and were on our way. The water was the perfect temp, and it was clear. Tips: bring snacks and water. You are out there 4-5 or longer hours. Especially if the water is low, which ours was. We used a waterproof bag and had no issues. We used a tube with a cup holder which was nice. I wore my life vest out of precaution even though I can swim, plus it made it comfortable for my to use it as a neck rest. I've noticed people mention in previous reviews that the bus was dirty ect. Um, you're in the woods. If you get picked up after many other groups the bus will be dirty as everyone is wet coming out of the water no matter what activity you choose. I would not own a brand spanking new vehicle for this type of environment and job. Used is best and saves money I'm sure. Wear a hat and sunglasses, put in that sunscreen. Bring a waterproof phone case/bag. You will have no service out there so put it on airplane mode and use it as a camera.

PATC was the 1st club of the now 30+ clubs who preserve the AT & its side-trails from Maine to Georgia. While they run hike groups, the primary purpose of the organization is to get people involved in trail management including keeping the footpath clear of natural overgrowth and blowdowns; building and relocating sections of the footpath, building and repairing shelters and other structures, caring for overnight sites as well as educating Trail users. PATC covers 1000 total miles of trails in Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia & Virginia, including 240 miles of the AT. I don't recommend anyone to book a cabin reservation through PATC. I had a terrible experience this…read morepasted Labor Day weekend. I booked a reservation for friday and saturday stay, unfortunately I wasn't able to get to the cabin. My partner and I drove a F150 4x4. We came across several issues on the road to name a few, we entered a dirt road and shortly after we encountered a fallen tree obscuring the road we barely passed through scrapping the top of the truck. Secondly, we arrived at the gate and were unable to drive up the hill due to the lack of maintenance on the road. It had so many deep potholes and the left side of the road was so uneven even if we were to pass through, we could've potentially damaged the truck. Third, a car followed us up the hill and waited at the shared parking space watching us as we attempted to drive up the hill several times. We felt uneasy and unsafe to be completely honest. It was getting dark, and we left. I emailed them over the weekend and since i didn't get a response i called today. I spoke to Ben the cabin coordinator, he was very disrespectful, rude and unprofessional. He disregarded my email and said he would get to it eventually. I tried explaining all this over the phone, he didn't care to listen and refused to help me. I requested a refund since i didn't stay in the cabin due to the poor road conditions. I've never been spoken to with so much hostility specially when i paid a fee to become a member. I tried explaining what occurred and he didn't want to hear it and said, "if i want to go back and forth and argue he can through email" and "the membership isn't for me". Ben didn't try to solve the issue in any way. If you're looking to book a cabin save yourself the headache and book through Airbnb at least they are open 7 days a week and they provide good customer service. I hope the phone calls are recorded because management should look into Ben's demeanor.
