Heeeere kitty kitty…read more... Folks, let's face it... who actually goes fishing and doesn't brag about it the next day to all their pals? Better yet, in this age of social media you can post it and let thousands of your adoring followers comment on the pics. Well you have 2 options...1: post a pic of the 1.5 lb. Croaker you accidently caught and hold your arms fully extended with the fish 6 inches from the camera lens. 2: Hire a top notch guide like Capt. Jason and catch a 40+ pound monster Cat that will pop the stitches out of any recent hernia surgery when you heft that fish up high for a photo op. Choose option 2 and you're sure to have legit bragging rights around the water cooler at your mundane job the next day. I've done a lot of charters. Capital Catfishing is hitting a home run. I tend to think of a charter more like a head boat trip that you and 20 of your drunken pals take for a bachelor party. Fishing is not the priority. Capt. Jason is a true guide. With him you get a personalized fishing trip where priority is placed on catching monster trophy Catfish. He knows the best spots, the best bait, the best gear and even brings along his best pal Toad (Toad with be his dog and 1st mate, not a slimy reptile) for best doggie licks. Toad even has his own Facebook page. Like any great business, Capt. Jason delivers because he is on site 24/7 and the customer comes first. Why drive hundreds of miles when you can catch trophy fish right here in your back yard? Bottom line: Go ahead, reserve your spot with Capt. Jason.... first get to the gym and start pumping some iron so you can actually hold the fish up for an epic pic.

What a great experience it was to fish with captain Jason Kintner!!! Thanks for an unforgettable…read morecatfishing experience!

He also set my son up to hook a Gar (pictured) that he was super excited about. Rich was also super patient and accommodating. Answered all our questions and gave lots of tips to help us with fishing in the future. He books up well in advance so make sure to ask to be put on his waitlist if you can't get an advance trip!

Are you new to the DC area and want to learn our waters? Are you in town for a work trip, and you have a free day? Or do you just want a stress-free day on the water? I’m Captain Rich, and I want to take you fishing. Osprey Fishing Charters is a disabled veteran owned fishing instruction and guide service in the Washington DC area. I fish the Occoquan and Upper Potomac Rivers targeting smallmouth, largemouth, catfish, and migratory species. My goal is to provide an affordable fishing excursion that helps anglers of all skill levels experience the joys of fishing. Our area has exciting fishing opportunities and I want to share them with you. Fishing is a great opportunity for you to bond with your family and really spend quality time. When you take your son or daughter fishing you are away from cell phones, video games, and the distractions of life. But when getting started in fishing, online how-to videos only get you so far. They can help you change a tire, but they may not be enough to get a smallmouth to tug on your line. If you don’t know how to fish but want to learn how, I want to help you. On our trips you will learn something new, catch some fish, and walk away with a great family experience. And I hope you come back and fish with me again sometime.

We ended up in North Beach this past weekend, how pretty! Small but nice! Boardwalk and all! There is a private beach but it's for locals. Very very cute quaint neighborhood surrounding the "beach" area. Looking at water will never get old. If you're a water baby, or just love looking at water (lakes, oceans, ponds) then this is it! Super beautiful. Love this! Romantic for couples!

Sandy Point is way too crowded and can be over stimulating for people wanting a relaxing yet local beach getaway. North Beach punches above its weight by having that peaceful, charming presence and vibe for you to relax. It is a year around destination, in that sure the beach (sand) might not be open, but the boardwalk is free all year around. I have found myself walking the boardwalk on gorgeous Spring and Fall days not during peak season enjoying myself. There are nice restaurants, eateries, food trucks and other charming venues around to grab smoothies, ice cream, and other delectables. My only gripe is the price of admission for the beach itself for non-county residents is a bit steep and has risen. You can rent an umbrella too, but that also costs more money. However, you do not always need to head to the actual beach and can enjoy the boardwalk and the local venues without having to pay that and get some sightseeing in. This is one of my favorite day-trip destinations in the DMV especially to wind down and relax with some good ole therapeutic peace and tranquility. NB is peaceful and slower paced than a lot of the faster paced locales in the DMV, folks should at least give the beach and town a shot to visit. It is a DMV day-trip destination for sure!

This little hidden gem of a park is perfect when you want to enjoy the outdoors without the crowds, playgrounds, or screaming kids. Even on a busy holiday weekend, I was able to sit outside, soak up the sun, and do some painting in total tranquility. A few people were fishing off the nearby pier, and others were strolling by, but overall, it was wonderfully quiet. It's the kind of spot you'd easily drive past without noticing--and honestly, I hope it stays that way. There's nothing quite like a peaceful, quiet park to clear your head.

I have seen yoga classes in the summer which is also a nice attraction. Unfortunately a few bad storms came through and made some damage to some of the walking bridges but there's still enough space for one to explore. There's several local businesses close by to Grab a snack. The park has ample seating for everyone and even benches close to the pier. If you plan to fish...bring a license. The area is stocked several times a year but that doesn't mean it's any easier...on this particular occasion I did well but there have been some other times where well my son did better. Whatever you do....don't allow your kid to bring an iPad lol...I've seen one of ours fall in the water...and although we got it back...it was never the same
