He starts out by rubbing some sort of oil into your dry scalp, massaging your head so you almost fall asleep, and then gets to work washing, cutting and drying. Even if I was refunded my money, I'd still need the fix for the immediate hair plus 2 years of ongoing maintenance color. Mine is hard to come by and I waited a very long time to get my hair done just to have it done wrong. I stopped in to CoCapelli mid June because I was searching for someone that specialized in platinum blonde color. I found Alivia on their website and stopped in to see if I could get a consultation scheduled. I was informed that she was out with a broken arm and a different stylist was recommended. I told the receptionist that I have complex hair, need someone very well versed in platinums and I wanted to make sure the stylist I got had over 10 years experience. She assured me the stylist she was recommending was the right fit, scheduled an appointment for my hair to get color on July 19th. I reached out to this stylist and requested a consultation in advance to make sure she fully knew what I was wanting done and could see why I was letting my natural light brown color grow out since last year. She texted me back that a consultation was not necessary, I was going to be her last appointment that day and we'd have plenty of time to talk. Red flag #1. I did send her pictures of my current hair color, and the pictures of what I was trying to achieve with putting some platinum in it but not wanting a lot of that because I had to have very low maintenance color, I could not come back every 8 weeks to get my color redone. I wanted to have it mostly my natural light brown color with some platinum added in for dimension and high contrast. So I get to my 1:00 appointment and meet her, very sweet, but I find out that I am no longer the last appointment, she is saying I was booked for foils and should have been booked for balayage and we have to get going. Red flag #2.... I did ask if I should reschedule, and she said no no no, we can make this work. I once again showed her the pictures of brown hair with some streaks of platinum worked in but a lot of the base color was still there and there was a lot of contrast between that and the platinum. When we got back to the chair after color, wash and rinse, she had a heck of a time brushing out my hair. It was very snarled from all the back combing and she wasn't hurting my scalp pulling my hair so hard but I was concerned it was stretching freshly colored hair and damaging it (later I find out I do have broken hair!). We finally got it brushed out and then started talking about a cut but by now we were quickly running out of time. She cut the back in a V like I asked her to, trimmed the sides but after talking about point cutting my bangs, never got around to it. She started blow drying my hair and just kept saying "oh it's so pretty" over and over - Red flag again. When I looked in the mirror, I commented about how much blonde there was and she said "all I did was follow what your previous stylist did". My heart sank. If I wanted that, I would have gone to my previous stylist and that's not at all what I asked you to do. By the time she got the blow dry done, I was speechless. Most and I do mean most, of my light brown hair was all gone. She put so much blonde in my hair and then all of my bangs are now bright yellow and there is this lovely (NOT) orange glow on the top of my head that I couldn't hide if I wanted to. I tried to like it, for her sake. She put a lot of work into it and a lot of time but it's not what I wanted, I've had the overall blonde look before, many times, it's not what I wanted at all and not what I waited 10 months for. And then she was in such a hurry to get out of there that she didn't even tell me about the product she recommended at the start of the appointment that would help take care of my hair after she did it. I had a trim scheduled for September but by the time Tuesday rolled around I was too upset after having to look at this mess all weekend. I called Tuesday to cancel that appointment and the receptionist that answered is the same one that was there when I got my hair done. I told her to cancel my cut, I'm not coming back. She asked why and kept pushing until I told her. She said they are very customer service oriented and truly care about their clients there and their happiness and that she'd have the owner call me about it and try and fix it. Well it's now been over 2 weeks since that phone call and there has been no phone call from anyone and no text messages so it's obvious they don't care about their clients. They got my money once but it will never happen twice. Now I have to start all over again trying to get my natural color to grow back out with all this blonde, it's going to look awful! However, I feel obligated to share my experience so another bride doesn't go through what I did. I didnt neccesarily want to give it a 1, but the entirety of this process was jumbled, stressful and not anywhere that expected of a "bridal salon". Unfortunately, my hair and makeup experience was by far the most stressful part of my entire wedding planning process. It should have been one of the most exciting moments, but instead it became very disappointing from trial through wedding day. During my trial, I was very clear about the hairstyle I wanted to achieve, brought inspiration photos, and even brought extensions I regularly use. Despite this, I was told my hairstyle was "impossible," and the experience felt very stressful and unprofessional for a bridal trial. My makeup trial also did not reflect what I requested a simple full-glam look with contoured skin, bright under-eye, soft pink tones, and a nude glossy lip. Instead, I was given deep cranberry tones and a very pale foundation shade that did not match, which left me looking washed out and not aligned with the inspiration I provided. After the trial, I had to go home and redo my hair and makeup myself, documenting each step so I could clearly communicate what I was hoping to achieve. The scheduling process was also very difficult. I was originally told I would need to start makeup at 6:30 a.m. despite an 11:30 a.m. ready time and a 4:30 p.m. ceremony/reception, which felt unnecessarily early and exhausting. There was very little flexibility offered, and it was hard to reach a workable schedule. At times, communication felt very difficult when trying to make adjustments that would avoid such an early and draining start to the day. On the wedding day, the stylist who worked with was talented and was genuinely did her best which I appreciated. I did end up using my own foundation, lip gloss, and blush that I brought after the trial because I felt more comfortable doing so. However, I still had to make adjustments to my final look. There were also challenges with bridal party services. The artist doing my Maid of Honor's hair was unable to complete the style independently and required repeated guidance from my stylist, which caused delays. Additionally, before we even left the bridal suite, all of my bridesmaids needed adjustments to their hair or makeup, and I had to fix several sets of unevenly applied lashes myself. I was so stressed about the ability to acheive my desired looks that I created slides with exactly what I did and did not want. Everything mentioned in the what to avoid are real examples from the trials. If I could have cancelled the service and did my own hair and make up, I would have, but it was non-refundable. It's worth noting that this hair and make-up was $750. Bridesmaids and mothers hair and make up was $250. we had about 8 people doing these services. Given the premium pricing and positioning as a luxury bridal service, I expected a much higher level of consistency, skill, and professionalism. I am sharing this not out of anger, but because I genuinely do not want another bride to experience what I did. This was one of the most important days of my life, and instead of feeling calm, excited, and taken care of, I felt deeply stressed, disheartened, and disappointed throughout much of the process. The emotional weight of that morning is something I will not forget, and I truly hope this feedback helps prevent another bride from feeling that same level of unnecessary stress on what should be a joyful, once-in-a-lifetime day.

Unfortunately, way more length got taken off than I wanted. It basically feels like I'm back in the awkward in-between growing stage again instead of just getting a fresh cleanup. I'll also be honest and say I should've probably spoken up more during the haircut, but I'm not really confrontational and at the time I was trying to trust the process. Once I got home, styled it myself, and looked at it properly, I realized one side was noticeably longer than the other too. They did offer to fix it afterward, which I appreciate, but the problem wasn't really something that could just be corrected because too much hair had already been cut off at that point. The other thing that honestly threw me off was the pricing situation. I was quoted $50-$70 on the phone, but ended up being charged $85 before tax and tip. Later I was told it was an accidental overcharge. Maybe it genuinely was, but combined with everything else, it just made the whole experience feel a bit off to me.
