He is absolutely a magician. He listened to exactly what I wanted, and for the first time in years, I left a salon with my hair looking healthier, more vibrant, and more beautiful than I ever thought possible--my highlights are absolutely breathtaking. But beyond his incredible talent, he makes you feel incredibly cared for. He is warm, kind, and so patient. Every visit feels like visiting a trusted friend. A review from an over 60 years young woman who wants to tell her fellow VINTAGE women - it's OK! (To see full review please go to Salon 94 & Barber Co.'s webpage.) Hello ladies, Let me start off by saying I never thought I'd be writing a review for hair extensions... never! Alas, at 60 years young, I find that my "lotsa-fine-hair" is not hanging on and aging as gracefully as I had hoped. My hair has always been fine but I had a good amount of it. Always so soft, shiny and flexible - could hold a curl even though it was straight as a board. Now, you can literally see through it. In short (cause Yelp has a limit), I researched, went to several consultations, in the past 6 years, and never felt truly "confident" in going forward with any hair replacement solution. That is until Julian. In one word, he is AMAZING. He is a very good listener and makes you feel so comfortable in yourself in his presence. He is the utmost professional and a wealth of knowledge. Asked me what my "wish list" was and then read between those lines coming up with the best options and finally a solution for me. He took the time - and time he took - to explain and show each option, the process, the pros and cons AND after-care. He was full disclosure! I felt so happy, comfortable and confident after our consultation, I booked my extension appointment right then. Before leaving he matched up my hair perfectly with what I'm calling "Mama's Tri-combo!" His attention to details is nothing less than spectacular. Be aware - I paid for my "new hair" upfront. This is customary. I was told this at EVERY consultation that I went to. Depending on what you decide it can run a $200 or more for your hair (not including service.) Relax... you spend that on manis/pedis AND Starbucks, alone in two months! I spend it the same and forget if I walk into a Marshalls, TJ Max or ... Lord help me - a Home Goods! This is an expense that I decided I'M WORTH and so are YOU!!! No regrets. At my appointment I had a FABULOUS experience! The salon is so nice. Julian welcomed me with his bright smile and enthusiasm. It was contagious. I was immediately relaxed and just as excited to get seated and get started. He served me some of my favorite local coffee - that he always has ready for every customer. He began with showing me my new extensions - REAL HAIR FROM ITALY! Julian explained the process and what he was doing throughout. Always the host with the most, asking if I needed a break; if I was comfortable; if he could get me anything. I sat it that chair for hours but it really didn't feel like it. We talked about many things and I truly enjoyed my experience. I felt pampered. It was wonderful. I felt very confident in my choice of going for it with Julian. The final piece was in and the cut began. I went in wanting just above the shoulder. Worried about what people would say about this ole' broad having such "young" hair. Julian suggested that he take a little off leaving it long, at first, for me to see and get use to for a minute. Well, I must say that I was a bit apprehensive. Then all done... and I LOVED IT! He offered to style it and I think he was slightly disappointed that I wanted to leave it silky smooth. It just brought me back to the days when I had what he just gave me back... my confidence. I went home and immediately showed my family. They all couldn't believe how natural it looked. Now, the follow through. The upkeep of long hair is not what I expected. Julian explained all that I would need to do and told me that I'd get used to it. I thought, that cannot be it. There's got to be more to it. Happily, I'm here to report it is just as he explained. BUT, I am a rule follower and a very good student. I wanted to write this review after a few weeks with my new locks and after trial and error of upkeep. To what I experienced and tips go to my post on the salon's page under "reviews." A brief, I washed my hair every day. I now wash my hair twice a week.The care is easy enough and my hair is so much healthier not washing and removing the natural oils out daily. With the type of extensions that I have I can wear it up, down, whatever and it looks beautiful. I have Keratin Extensions. The compliments are flowing and many from strangers. I am THRILLED! Be sure to use good product in your hair. I use "evo" and the salon carries it. This review is for all but primarily for those more of VINTAGE age, such as myself. Those who want to age gracefully but with confidence and to just feel pretty. We can do this! It's OK!!! Whatever you decide to do - just do you and shop around for the perfect fit in finding YOUR person! I'm happy to share mine with the world. Julian was wonderful! Walked me through every step of my curly cut, explained each product and how it works, and helped me to better understand how to enhance my natural curls. I left feeling like a new person, cute as heck, and armed with knowledge on how to continue to get these results. From the moment you walk through the door, you are wrapped in the warm hug that is the cozy, relaxed atmosphere of Salon 94. Julian is so friendly and personable, he makes you feel comfortable and at ease throughout the entire experience. He truly takes the time to get to know you and your hair, as well as teach you tips and tricks to get the style that you've always wanted. I've personally had many bad haircuts throughout my life and felt that some stylists just didn't understand my texture or how to enhance my natural curls. Salon, 94 and barbers was very clean and bright more like a salon than barbers. Julian was very welcoming and knowledgeable. I had the full barber treatment, which was well worth the money, considering in any other major city this would be double the price. The service was excellent. Julian knowledge as a master barber was excellent, and he made some very good suggestions when it came to styling my beard and my hair. Will definitely be returning and I highly recommend Salon 94 & Barber, especially the full barber treatment very worth the price. Thank you Julian for the excellent experience at your business. I am beyond words right now. Good things don't usually happen to me, it's a rare occasion. I am currently 2 years post brain surgeries after my last domestic assault disconnected my draining tube to the shunt in my head for my pituitary gland cyst on the brain. I am open about my assaults as I hope to one day help at least one other person in the same situation. My story was heard from a very special person who did my hair today. Julian, Owner and stylist, at Salon 94 & Barber Co. literally created hair goals for me today with his co-stylist Jordyn. I am still speechless. To have had my head shaved and to have a full head of real human hair again leaves me beyond words. I am thankful. I am grateful. I am confident.
