From someone who has tried many salons due to my husbands job, I can say this one has staying power. I especially enjoyed the blow dry at the end which is not included at every salon in the town. Fair price and excellent service! They have been at a different location and moved from a smaller space in Newtown, so they are all experienced stylists. They even have a full barber service. Per the receptionist, Lisa the bridal service coordinator was busy with a client ( also not a biggie ) and that she would get back to me shortly after she finished. I left all my info , phone number, email, day and location of wedding and If I was looking for makeup for a whole bridal party or not . Once I stated that I was just looking to get my own makeup done as the other bridesmaids are each doing their own makeup. I could hear the receptionist tone change ( clearly that's not ideal) Days have gone by and no call or email from Lisa( I checked spam as well ). I Expected a little more professionalism. If wedding makeup is only done for groups maybe the website can be a little clearer on that or let the receptionist know it's a policy so people don't waste their time . I arrived a few minutes after my appointment time - maybe 10 minutes at the most, which I know isn't ideal. When I checked in, I was given a robe and waited to be seen. While I was waiting, I didn't get the impression that there was an urgent time constraint. Beth greeted me warmly, and we sat down for a consultation about the haircut and color I wanted. However, after discussing everything, she told me that we had run out of time and that she would no longer be able to do my hair. I was shocked. While I understood that I had arrived a few minutes late, I never imagined that would result in my appointment being canceled after I had already checked in, waited, and completed a consultation. She also asked how I had booked the appointment and commented that she dislikes when people book online. As a first-time client, I had no idea I was expected to book a specific way or that scheduling online could create an issue. I rearranged my schedule for this appointment and was genuinely excited to finally get my hair done. Instead, I was left feeling embarrassed, uncomfortable, and dismissed as I gathered my things and left. In all my years of getting my hair done, I've never had an experience where I was turned away after arriving, checking in, and beginning a consultation. Sadly, this wasn't the welcoming experience I was hoping for as someone new to the Southbury community.

I was in the end stages of telogen effluvium at the time, which is a scalp condition where your hair falls out. Mine was due to extreme emotional and physiological stress. Colleen answered the phone when I called and from that moment on pampered me. I had lost a good 2/3 of what was a nice thick head of hair. Thankfully, I still had some left to work with. I love the organic products. The color, cut and style was at the superior level that I received in Middlebury.
