I am fairly new to the area, and was looking for a modern salon, with fair prices. I am very particular about my hair, and trusting a new stylist. I searched for salons in the area and found a newly opened salon, Salon Blue, and called right away. I spoke with the owner, Mirela, who was very nice. I had a good gut feeling so I instantly made an appointment. When I arrived I noticed right away how very new and modern the salon was; very nice décor and an inviting open space - exactly what I was looking for. Mirela and her staff were welcoming and professional, and even offered me coffee. :) Now I have to say I am very picky about my hair and how it's maintained. Right away I felt comfortable. Mirela took the time to ask me what I wanted, listened to me, and studied the pictures I brought to her as examples. She talked me through what she recommended on treating my hair, and we discussed and decided together what would look best. Mirela did a fabulous job on my hair - it was EXACTLY what I wanted. She talked to me about everything she was doing and why, and even talked about steps in taking to bring my hair back to a healthy state again. I also loved that I received an email confirmation about my appointment, as well as a thank you email afterwards - that's a nice touch. I recommend Salon Blue to anyone who is new to the area, anyone who is looking for a new stylist, or anyone who just wants a change. Her service and prices are excellent - Salon Blue has found a new permanent client in me! :) read more

Ok so I been searching for a new High End hair Salon in the Rochester Area and found this place when I was on Detroit-A-List which was impressed they were runner up for first, so I went on their Facebook Page and WOW!! I was so impressed that they were featured in many magazines and Mirela the owner has done many celebrity's so I went to see her and I have to say she is so down to earth and humble and so sweet. She made me feel at home and her expertise in color and style I have never experience. So I recommend this place to any one! Go and see for your self and you will not be disappointed. I have to say Mirela is a true artist at what she does, she took me in at 8am when the other Salon in the area would not accommodate to my needs because they would not open that early. I'm new in the area so when I found Salon Blue i called and her husband told me it would not be a problem to come in and talked to Mirela and made me feel at ease. I would recommend any one to go and see her and get celebrity service at a great price. I'm so happy I no longer have to go to Royal Oak to get my hair done and pay $200 and over as I use to. I found salon blue by a friend of mine and she ranted and raved about Mirela who is also a co owner. I went in for the cut and color with high lights and low lights and I had another salon locally do it and was not happy with the results till i sat in Mirela chair. She was able to correct the problem and then turn my hair to exactly what I wanted. I recommend this salon for the pricing and the modern look and Mirela who i just found out is featured in my national magazines and voted best hair color and bridal salon. I have to say i was honored to have Mirela work on my hair before Christmas which I have to add the other wanna be hair salon in the area ruined and was rude about it. and still charged me $190.00!!!!! I was refereed to her by a waitress at Sagebrush so I called her and went to see Mirela and THANK YOU JESUS that we have a real hair salon in the area. Ladies go in and see her once you meet her she this beautiful girl from Albania and stylish and so down to earth, believe me you will want her to do your hair once you see her. This was the best experience and loved my stylist Mirela who is the owner and was so impressed by her talwnt and her portfolio was so impressive. My color correction she had to fix from from a solon up the street that had no idea what she was doing. This is a modern salon with a European feel and love the free wine to relax me after long day at work. Neither the hairdresser nor the owner reached out to me to see if I was okay. Side note: The day after this happened, I thankfully found a wonderful hairdresser in Clarkston with a referral from a friend Anyway, after I didn't immediately cancel my upcoming appointments here, they had the poor receptionist (who is very sweet) call to say I couldn't return. Ummm... did you really think I was coming back? I had no intention of returning. She also added in the same phone call (with coaching from the background) that "oh, and [the hairdresser] is independent". My guess is that the owner told her to say this. It is just so awful and disappointing how they handled the whole situation. All they ever did after scalding me was try to cover their butts.

I had been going there for 4 months. The whole purpose was to slowly lighten my hair a little. They…read moresaid you can't just color it lighter, you need to lighten the hair. The first visit I told them my hair goes darker than the shade so to please not put a dark dye on my roots. They also applied a glaze (I think that's what they called it) that would lighten my hair one tone in just a few areas. They said it wouldn't damage my hair. They ignored my knowledge of my own hair and dyed it too dark and it felt really dry and damaged once it dried They were nice enough to give me a conditioning treatment the next day to fix the dryness. I kept going back and on one occasion I went home with dye still in my hair because it wasn't properly rinsed. Stained my coat and had to jump in the shower to rinse it off. The last visit I asked my same stylist if we could go a bit lighter. She told me she would do 40% of the lighter tone. After my appointment I was horrified to see I had a very visible stained forehead and then noticed my roots were darker than the rest of my hair . I texted her the next morning and she said she would color over it with a lighter color. Huh? They told me initially that you can't do that, plus it's recommended you wait to color over color at least 2-4 weeks. So I wasn't feeling comfortable with doing that. Of course it was right before my birthday so I was pretty upset. I asked for a refund. The stylist was always very kind and professional which is why I kept going back despite all the incidents that were upsetting. The reason I am not going back and never recommending this place is because one of the owners was absolutely horrible when I talked to her on the phone. She displayed the opposite of serenity. Horrible customer service, lack of kindness, rude and didn't let me talk. Not to mention she didn't apologize once for dying my hair too dark. Instead she yelled at me for texting the stylist. And added that I wasn't charged enough for the services. Really? So I didn't pay enough for all the aggravation and mistakes? Being an owner it would be a good idea to be professional, kind, try to make up for the mistake and at the very least have some good manners and apologize for what happened. If you want a serene experience I wouldn't recommend this place, especially if something goes wrong. Which is when customer service really counts. If you don't mind careless mistakes, wrong hair color and unreturned calls, this place is for you!
