The biggest concern was hygiene. The drill bit used on me still had someone else's nail polish residue on it, meaning it hadn't been properly cleaned before being used on another client. That alone made me really uncomfortable. The service itself was even worse. The technician (Hannah) was extremely rough with my hands the entire appointment. She kept twisting, grabbing, and tossing my hands around instead of moving them gently. Multiple times I told her she was hurting me, and every time she just said "oh" and continued doing the exact same thing. At one point she filed so aggressively that she went all the way into the sidewall of my natural nail, which was painful and completely unnecessary. She also lost control of the drill (multiple times...) resulting in more pain and even cutting my finger. She also didn't properly size the nail tips. Instead of checking which sizes actually fit my nails, she grabbed random ones after already putting glue on them and just stuck them on anyway. What made the whole experience feel even more uncomfortable was the lack of professionalism. Although the technician spoke English, she refused to communicate with me during my appointment and instead only spoke with her coworkers in Vietnamese. I don't expect anyone to speak a certain language, but when I'm the client and I'm trying to communicate about pain or ask questions, I'd expect at least basic communication. Towards the end of my appointment a lady who I believe is the owner walked in and right away my technician was more gentle with me (although she still wouldn't speak to me). There were also several things that made me question the cleanliness and safety of the salon. Staff lunches were sitting right beside the nail chemicals and supplies, and nail products were being stored in the bathroom where they could potentially be accessed or tampered with. Also for what it's worth, this is the only salon I've been to where I didn't see any visible business licence being displayed. Overall, this was one of the worst salon experiences I've had. Between the hygiene concerns, painful service, poor communication, and overall lack of professionalism, I won't be returning & I would encourage you to look into better places. Not a single tool or nail file is sanitized between clients. They all sit in the same stand that is used from client to client. The nail files are not even given a simple spray! The techs still sit behind the useless glass partitions and wear useless masks but they don't sanitize a single thing for their clients!
