I relocated to Virginia 6mos ago, and been looking for hair stylist for awhile . I am very passionate about my hair , i spend so much money and time to take care of it, i was gonna wait until i go back to Ca to see my hair stylist but it get too long and i know it time to try someone new. so When i schedule appointment i choose option to pay for experience and education stylist tier 3 hoping someone know how how to cut hair and this is what i got. This is the worst hair cut i have ever get in my life. I came in with a long V-shape layer hair. I told her i only want cut 3inches and keep my V-shape layer style. She didnt listen and chopped it for 6-7inches. My hair is so short and uneven now. No where close to what i asked for. They dont understand how long it take to grow long hair. This is so disappointing. I have been crying all night after this cut. Definitely will never come back and do not recommend to any one. read more

I came to this salon when I first moved to NN the summer of 2020. Joe Woods became my go to. He was always mentoring some one. Then the day came when he said his last day was coming soon. He had Kristan Barclay watch and blow dry my hair. Moral is Joe is gone and Kristin has been my hairdresser ever since. She listens. She has a great sense of humor and a wicked set of scissors. I requested a layered haircut for my curly hair and I got a trim but don't go here expecting them to be able to style your natural hair. I'm sure they would have done a great job straightening or curling it using heat but when I asked her to use products that would enhance my natural curl pattern she mixed two random products together that weighed down my hair and made it crunchy. She took a diffuser to my hair and just held it in place at various spots around my head. I left the salon with frizzy curls and damp hair. The lady that did my hair was very nice but did not understand what I was asking for. read more

I walked in without an appt. and was welcomed by the receptionist Brittney which was awesome. She checked and found that Alley was available to give me a haircut to get rid of Covid hair. Alley was very transparent and informative and explained everything she thought needed to be done to bring my hair back to a healthy state. My hair was her canvass and she painted a great picture...when I left I was a very happy customer and can't wait to return for my trim....thanks ladies...the pleasure was all mine... read more

I love this salon! I go here every 6-8 weeks to get my hair done by Maddie. She's so sweet, and really good and what she does. She's an apprentice, so it's much cheaper and the same quality of work of someone who has been doing hair for years!! The only reason I gave 4 stars is because sometimes the other stylists can talk very condescending towards her, and I just really don't like that. Everyone should be treated the same, and with respect. So if anything is taken from this review, please try to speak with respect and not in a condescending form to Maddie, or other stylists. read more

Though I believe this to be an overpriced strip mall salon, Salon Elite deserves a reasonably good rating. In my experience, their customer service is very good, but bear in mind that like most salon employees their #1 job is sales and they excel at this. Their #2 job - - -hair stylist, nail tech, shampooer, etc.- - - is executed fairly well as far as I can tell (I only worked with one stylist, but interacted with much of the staff) but seemed peripheral to making sure that you walk out with products and another appointment. If your experiences are like mine, staff will approach you while you're in the chair and tell you how FAB-u-lous your (hair / nails / whatever) look, how THAT is the exact way that they want to wear their hair, and aren't you lucky to be a client of (whomever). It's amusing to hear them say the same thing from chair to chair to chair... Adding to this phony sundae was the manner in which I was treated by my stylist... she / he LOVES LOVES LOVES me but don't let the door hit my ass on the way out. There's nothing wrong with being lavished with compliments and enjoying a bond that may or may not *really* exist between client and staff... if that's your thing. After all, it's all about sales and indulging people is a part of the sale. Personally, I hate being pandered to and I'm always up front with stylists in that regard. If you think I'm going to look like a bleeding idiot with the hairstyle that I'm asking for, then TELL ME. And you don't have to pretend to be my friend. I'm a customer and I'm alright with that. But at the end of the day, they are good stylists and I would recommend Salon Elite. Perhaps they should find a happy medium between hair artistry and sales quotas. read more

I was in town on vacation and needed some waxing. Kristi was able to fit me in for a same day appointment for both a brazilian and lower leg wax. She did a very thorough job and never made me feel rushed. We chatted and laughed and overall I had a very pleasant experience. While waxing is never a painless experience, this one was on the less painful side in comparison to others. The price point is in line with other salons offering the same services and products. I recommend giving them a try if you are in the market for some waxing! :-) read more

They paid a lot of attention to the minor details and made sure everything looked right. My hair can be difficult, but the staff here are a group of pros. I went here on a recommendation from a friend. The hair stylist I see is Taylor (a guy) and he is awesome. He is so nice and is always on time and efficient. I love going to him, he is so engaging. The woman that does the shampoo is also very nice and give a great scalp massage. I also have facials done there and today I received a facial from Nikki and it was THE BEST facial I have ever had. Every one has their own style on giving a facial. I have had a few to say the least and Nikki did an amazing job. I can't wait till my next one in February. I use to go to this salon a few years back and they could blow out my hair without flat ironing it but not anymore. Sadly, because they didn't straighten it by blow drying it(it was frizzy) they had to flat iron it. They then charged me for flat ironing it which I didn't realize was an extra charge until I paid. I would understand if my hair was super curly but the fact is it is just slightly wavy. There weren't any products put in my hair before blow drying it to protect it or help smooth it when drying which would have helped to keep it from needing to be flat ironed. The girl that did my hair was nice enough but the cut, blow out, and flatiron wasn't worth $60 with a $10 tip. I was hoping this cut and styling would be great since the salon is much closer to where I live and they use to do a great job a few years back but I will be returning to my current hairstylist who is an hour drive away since the cut and blow out there is $20 less and more what I want in the end. read more

This is a nice salon and most of the stylists seem to be really good at what they do, but unfortunately I just wasn't impressed with my stylist. Not only did she not listen to what I wanted, but she also messed up on my hair color. I saw some great work done by other stylists while I was there, so I'd just caution to be careful whom you go to there. read more

I have had my legs (full) and brazilian waxed here, and I absolutely LOVED the results. they give you a private room, everything is very clean and professional but the lady I had (nicky, nikki?) was very sociable, open and honest about exactly what she's doing and how she goes about it. I have been getting waxed for four years now and have gone plenty of places and this is a good place for beginners that don't have much experience getting waxed. read more

I went with my friend to get a major hair cut. She wanted to donate her hair, so they cut off 2 feet. The stylist was very nice and gave an amazing pixie cut! (Ask for Joe) She had a consultation with him a week before and he was very informant about how to keep up with her new style. I am planning on scheduling an appointment for myself! read more
