She always comes up with suggestion on how to make me look like I have more hair then I really do and always has interesting conversation. The support staff is also very nice, I'm always treated like I'm the most important person in the place and they are quick to offer up a drink once your hair has been washed or if you get there early and find yourself having to answer some email and read the paper. I like this place for the simple reason that I've been coming here for five years and even with the staff changes they manage to keep the experience and fun. As a little background, I haven't been able to have my hair colored in a salon for years due to how expensive it is, but I have finally reached a place in my life where I am financially ok, and able to treat myself with something like this. I was very excited. They took a $75 deposit for the appointment, which I was really looking forward to. However, the next day I was called and told my appointment was cancelled because my colorist did not feel comfortable bleaching my hair and was afraid of damaging it. I understand that everyone has their own comfort levels and boundaries, but I am not sure she is in the right line of work. All bleach damages hair - I am fully aware of this! I am an adult capable of making my own decisions. It seems strange to make an appointment for a new client and then cancel on them the next day. A little unprofessional, and pretty crushing for someone who is finally able to afford these expensive services! If you don't want your new client, say so at the consultation. I really feel like my time was wasted. They refunded the deposit at least. But I won't go back.

That's where Bizarde comes in. I used to have fairly frizzy and flat hair, which I washed way too often and didn't condition properly. Staff at Bizarde is specialized in dry cuts without washing, which is far less abrasive on hair - they've always beautifully refreshed my lengths with select snips and killer advice. Now I wash my hair with shampoo less often, take great care in conditioning my lengths with products they've recommended, and brush my hair at least three times a day to favor the oil distribution from the roots to the lengths, and my hair has never looked so beautiful. I am delighted. The place is also gorgeous: an urban, quirky jungle with lovely tunes with friendly, laidback staff. They have a way of making you feel right at home.
