This is my absolute favorite salon to go to. My hair always looks fabulous whenever I leave. I go in with hair that would make an old German grandmother sob, and come out with hair that makes my normally grumpy dog wag his tail twice. That's a lot for him. It's a Christmas miracle in fact. I could never imagine getting my hair done at a different salon. I've had my hair done by Liz for years now and shes a riot. If you went to go big, she's your gal. Sara does some of the best bobs around. They're spectacular. I haven't had the joy of having Christina do anything to my hair, but whenever I'm there her clients always look super spectacular and happy. If there were radioactive dinosaurs taking over Lancaster county you could totally trust everyone who works there to make you look good while fighting them. Just go. I was referred to this salon and one stylist in particular who does a friend's hair. I was more than excited, as my previous salon was not an option. The first time I went, I waited outside for about 40 minutes because no on had told the stylist that she had an appointment. She did come in, and she did the most fantastic job on my hair ever. I LOVED IT and decided I'd never go anywhere else. The second time I went, however, the same stylist worked on me. All I asked her to do was cut off as little as possible on the VERY ends of my hair and to color my roots the same color as she used the last time I was there. She decided to cut my hair before the color was put on. As she is cutting in the back, I looked up in the mirror to discover in horror about 3 inch lengths of my hair falling onto the floor all around me. For what ever reason, this stylist decided to "thin out the back of my hair" I IN NO WAY WOULD HAVE EVER EVER IN MY LIFE ASKED FOR THIS. She had taken the thinning shears across the back of my head from ear to ear and removed all the bulk and volume in the process. My hair was in a clip when I went in there and I can't clip it now or pull it into a pony tail as I could when I walked in there that day. I am still perplexed as to why she did this and as soon as I saw what was happening I told her to stop, but it was too late. So we moved on to the color. Unbeknownst to me, even though I had requested the same color as before and even showed her a picture of how it looked before, a picture that the stylist herself had taken, she put an entirely different shade on my head. After it was all styled, she wouldn't let me see it till she was done, she turned the chair so I could see my hair. Normally I wear my hair a very light blonde. This color was all but a dull grayish purple and looked so bad that I sat in the chair and cried. So the stylist put more color on it to get it back to blonde, but still never used the color I asked for. It was explained to me that customers complained about that shade that it burned the scalp. I agree. It did burn. But it was such a beautiful result I had asked for it again, knowing that it would burn for a short while. The blonde She put on to correct this was STILL NOT THE COLOR I WANTED. MY ROOTS WERE JUST AS DARK AS WHEN I WALKED IN AND NOW MOST OF MY HAIR THAT I HAVE BEEN GROWING OUT IN THE BACK WAS COMPLETELY GONE. This appointment had turned traumatizing enough that when I left, I was so relieved the blonde was back and the grayish tone was gone that I never thought to inspect the back. It wasn't until I was home and it was pointed out to me that the back of my hair was way shorter than when I had left for the salon. I have been trying ever since to let the salon manager know that I am VERY DISPLEASED AND DISAPPOINTED and nothing has been done to rectify this situation. My hair is gone as well as the 100 dollars I paid to have it wrecked. No one there seems to care what they've done, as this is affecting me on so many levels. I am including photos of the way the crown of my hair was cut to about a two inch length, giving almost a MULLET effect, as well as the roots that were the same as when I walked in. Worse actually, because when the blonde was put on to correct the awful grayish shade, nothing was done anywhere else. Again, when I made the appointment, ALL I ASKED FOR WAS MY ROOTS COLORED AND A VERY MINIMAL TRIM. Instead I had layers of hair removed from the back for a reason I still do not understand and the color was ridiculous. They have lost a client through the way they have handled the situation, which is very unprofessional and seemingly not being acknowledged in any way other than to avoid my request for rectification on this matter. read more

My family and I have been going to Christina at Salon Rouge for years for our haircuts. We love Christina and we are always super happy with our hair. A few months ago my regular massage therapist went on maternity leave. I get massages every four weeks and I was suddenly without my regular therapist. I decided to give Christina at Salon Rouge a try. If I thought she was an incredible stylist, she is somehow even more amazing as a massage therapist. She is dedicated to giving the correct massage with the correct pressure for each client. The area where she gives massages is comfortable, warm, and so relaxing. I literally drift to my car afterward. A must try salon!!! read more
