The girl who did my hair did not stay with me all the way through she passed me off to another coworker so that she could do her own hair. I also booked for a gloss (and only a gloss, no hair cut / styling) online it said it would be 60.00$ and after my session was done it totaled to be 115.00$. Apparently they have a salon fee they sneak in there and don't tell you until the end. The gloss looks nice, but I feel like I got ripped off and for that reason I would never go back. What frustrated me even more was that the checkout system automatically required a 20% tip, with no option to leave a smaller tip or decline it. I understand tipping for good service, but I don't feel comfortable being forced into a 20% tip, especially after the price of the service had already increased significantly from the $60 I was originally quoted. If there were additional charges based on time and labor, I feel those should have been clearly explained before the service so I could make an informed decision about the cost. read more

I really wanted to have a good experience here, but unfortunately I left very disappointed with my color service. I paid over $300, plus a tip, and after getting home and seeing my hair in normal lighting, my roots looked very gold/yellow with a noticeable line where the color did not blend into the rest of my hair. I reached out right away, sent photos, and explained my concerns. The initial suggestion was that additional highlighting may be needed, and I was also told that an assistant could highlight it. After the original result and that proposed correction, I no longer felt comfortable having more chemical work done at the same salon and decided to get another professional opinion. I asked for at least a partial refund since I now have to pay another salon to assess and correct the color, but the salon declined because I did not return for an in-person reassessment. I understand businesses have policies, but as a client, I also think it is reasonable not to feel comfortable returning for additional chemical services after losing confidence in the result and proposed correction. I'm sharing this so others can make an informed decision. I would recommend taking clear before/after photos, asking exactly who will be performing each step of the service, and clarifying the salon's refund/correction policy before booking. I would also recommend asking for a full price breakdown before any service begins. I was not given the full pricing until I checked out, which added to the frustration. read more

I have met Sybil I have been in her salon twice and all she talked about was living in a rv. The stylist I used that day in the salon asked Sybil for help when it came to my haircut. And Sybil's response was just cut and the client (me) will tell you when to stop. Very unprofessional. You are right, I have never met you. And yes I opted out of emails and text and they continued. And when my stylist left Sybil called and asked if I would reschedule I said no and asked her to remove me from all your advertisements or deals. So that didn't work either. One of the best salon experiences I have been a part of. I recently just moved to TN and came across Elizabeth who listened to my vision exactly. She understood my hair desires and new it would be challenging but was so confident and excited to proceed with the process. The owner (FEMALE OWNED YESSS) was also very attentive and was there to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. Oohhh my goodnessss! My hair was in serious need of some TLC, and SOCA did not disappoint!! Tennelle and Macy took amazing care of me. The atmosphere was amazing, their new salon at Browns Mill is gorgeous. They offered me wine (I gladly accepted a Moscato), and I felt completely comfortable with the ladies there. Everything is extremely high-end. It's such a luxurious experience from the moment you walk in until you leave the salon. They started by asking what my hair goals were and what I was looking for in terms of color and style. Each step of the way they checked in and made sure I was happy. When we were done, Tennelle walked me through which products would be best for my hair/hair goals before I purchased. The pricing is probably high for some budgets, but when I tell you you get what you pay for-- you truly get what you pay for in the best way. I've never felt so good about my hair! I can't wait to book my next appointment and will definitely be booking my sister an appointment soon! read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. I went in to have a full head of foil done. Showed them the picture that I wanted them to make my hair look like and they said no problem. So the first time that it came out it was awful. So I went back to the salon and asked for my money back I told her she had to keep the tip that I had given her but that I wanted to go to someplace else to get my hair fixed. At that point the manager told me that they did not give refunds but that she would fix it. The second time I left crying again. She couldn't say anything but that she was sorry. To me it's a sorriest salon in Johnson City. I would never go there Again and k wouldn't Suggest anyone else go there either. You show them a picture you think that they are professionals and that they can actually do what the picture shows. That is not the case with him and they don't take responsibility for what they messed up. They'll say they'll fix it but mine is definitely not fixed! read more

Sarah is the best! I decided to go with Sarah because I found her on Instagram and her skills with color looked amazing. I was in the middle of going from brunette to blonde and my hair was very unhealthy/in desperate need of help. When I went in for my appointment, she really looked over my hair and was very thoughtful with what needed to be done. She used a variety of techniques (which i loved) to correct my color and help everything blend. She worked magic with my hair. If you want someone who is great with color and will do what's best for your hair, I cannot recommend Sarah enough! read more

I have gotten my hair done by Tennelle many times. She is very up to date on all the latest color and techniques for the greatest color and styling. The new salon is very classy and upscale. I would rate a negative 10 if that were possible! I visited the salon SOCA on Browns Mill on 2/19 for the first time. Nice interior.....I shared NUMEROUS photos with the stylist of the style I wanted. she confirmed she understood. My first red flag should have been when she asked the manager and another stylist multiple questions early in the cut. Should have left right then! She asked how short I wanted my bangs. I look up and they had gone from 4 inches to less than 1...that quick. At that point my hair is about an inch all over and NO STYLE. I was irritated and made a comment that it cannot go any shorter. She said she needed to speak with her manager and LEFT. Sat that for 5 mins and nothing. I am leaving and the manager introduced herself. To,d me she would cover the haircut and could she do anything....because one side was shorter than the other. Then offered to make it right' when I was ready. Remember this is the SAME manager who saw what was going on and did not stop it. NO I WILL NEVER CROSS THE DOORSTEP and I suggest others BEWARE! read more
