Dont order steak. i am a grade 1 chef. i do not expect grade 1 food when I eat out at these places. what I expect is food worthy of price. When I orderd fillet steak off the menu I orderd it medium rare. My friend also orderd fillet steak medium. the meal arrived in good time, the problem was my steak was cooked the same as my friends. I called the waitress over to explain my steak was not cooked medium rare but medium. She was very appologetic and said she would get me another meal. I was not interested as by the time another meal came out it would be too late. i was happy to pay for the meal I did not eat. All was fine until another waitress came over and asked me what the problem was I explained to her I was quite happy to pay for the meal as I did not want to make a fuss. She then told me she was a chef and the steak was perfect............... Why would you employ a chef to be a waitress, i was quite happy to pay 22.00 for a fillet steak that was not cooked to my requirements. But for a waitress to come and tell me she is a chef and the steak was cooked correctly, frankly upset me. I was happy to pay for meal that I did not eat without any fuss........ If you want to charge top money in Southend for top fillet steak, get it right. if not, contact me and I will be quite happy to show your chefs how to cook steak. I was not going to take this any further, but for a waitress to tell me she is a chef and the steak was cooked correctly in front of the party I was with was a bit of a joke as the party have known me as a grade 1 chef for 20 years. I was quite happy to pay for the meal no fuss. the original waitress was fine. But the other waitress who told me was a chef......... well I think this is staff you dont need. If I was an asshole I would take this further, but to be quite honest there are enough assholes already and if you as a company employ chefs as waitresses....... I dont think so. This may be just a one off, or maybe you were just unlucly that I know how to cook. i would have returned to this place to eat again, no fuss I would not order steak. maybe something easier like bread and butter. The waitress needs to be sorted as she is not doing your trade very well. If she is in fact a Chef I strongly advise you check her grade qualification.
