4/5 Stars. Amazing food! A little too expensive (See menu prices) If you have a craving for Authentic Mexican food, look no further. A little pricey but the portions are large enough to share. Being from Southern California, my standards of Mexican food are pretty high. Too often have I been disappointed by bland burritos and tasteless tacos. Now plenty of places on this island will advertise "Mexican Food" but will leave you dissatisfied and confused. This place is legit. It can get pretty crowded on weekends. So I would recommend calling in a table in advance. Price: kind of high for Mexican food, but you get good quality and good quantity. (See menu pic for prices) Staff: Friendly, funny, and most of all honest. Environment: has a homey kind of feel. Like a non & pop kind of atmosphere. Here is my order: Beverage: horchata- it was sweet nectar from the gods. It had that slight texture you get from the rice and a little grit from the ground nuts. With a sprinkle of cinnamon on top to really bring the drink together. In other words, it tasted like it was stored in the fountains of aguas frescas tubs you'd find at a swap meet. Starters: Chicharrón- came out hot with a aside of guac. Chilli beef nachos- great starter. Every crunchy bite filled your mouth with delicious marinated meet, nacho cheese, cooling sour cream, and slightly spicy salsa. Main course: Burrito steak in Serrano sauce. I swear it weighed at least 2 pounds. I am a purist when it comes to consuming a burrito so usually I use my hands. Not an option due to the sauce. This burrito was amazing with every bite. I was full half way through, and I just kept eating because it tasted so good.

In advance of a day trip to Bury St. Edmunds (from Ely, where I am staying for the week), I…read moreconsulted Yelp for ideas about restaurants in Bury. The one which stood out was Pea Porridge but when I stood outside lamenting upon how expensive their fabulous menu was, I simply turned 90 degrees anti-clockwise and into The Old Cannon Brewery. This turned out to be an excellent alternative, especially the hot-smoked salmon Caesar salad for starter. I'd never had a salmon Caesar before but this made me want more. For mains, I opted for the sausages, which were really tasty as was the summer fruits pudding afterwards. For vegetarians, rather than having separate menu items, some of the existing dishes are also available in vegetarian format. Being a microbrewery, their own beers appealed to me rather than bigger commercial names and it was good to see that they made a range of beers which could be tried in tasting trays of 3 or 6. I had chosen 2 of them (Stout and Black Pig) before I went through the door but these were not available. Only 3 of their ales were on (Best Bitter, Brewer's Daughter and Blonde Bombshell) so I had them. It was good to see on the menu that the brews contributed to the food through their own beer batter.

Great lunch and I live the NA beer on tap. Service is friendly and they really take care of their…read moretables. Ambiance? Yes, there is.
