First off this place is located at The Wharf, a very cool shopping, marina, dining & entertainment complex in Orange Beach, and you can find them on the same side of the complex in the shadow of the Ferris wheel next to STK burger. This locally owned and operated shop have a very cool vibe and it's not the all too common, touristy feel or selections of goods. We were greeted at the door by Steve, a very charming & welcoming gentleman, who immediately asked us if we would like a margarita. Wait, what? This is a tropical apparel type place, not a pub or Taqueria so naturally, I asked how much were their margaritas. The reply was a surprise and fun "they're complimentary". Wait, what? LOL Steve informs us that he is allowed to serve alcohol but cannot sell it, hence free, AND you can even take the drink with you and walk around The Wharf, like Bourbon or Beale Streets. Wait, what? I was very surprised by the free booze and I rarely drink :-) Anyway, on to the store, it is a very charming place with a focus on beachwear & some other cool stuff. I was disappointed because he had some cool flip flops and somebody bought the last size 13's :-( There's some designer stuff, I have no clue because I don't do labels, but other stuff I recognize like Tommy Bahama :-) There's a lot of very cool Buddhas and even cowboy hats, what? Prices seemed high overall and especially for a pair of earrings we were inquiring about....$2,300 for some gold earrings with diamonds where the amount of gold and size/quality of the diamonds came nowhere near that amount so the designer's markup was unnecessarily horrendous. The parking around the business are a little sparse but they surprisingly have a large and easy access parking garage underground. Everything is close but spread out with restaurants and shops are easily accessible and a charming outdoor courtyard that has umbrella tables and comfy couches. the San Bar outdoor bar is there in the courtyard and frequently has live music. It's very nice! They are open 7 days a week from 10AM to 6PM for the shopping but the restaurants and bar have later hours. It is on the water, obviously because it has a marina, but it's much more obvious when you are dining at one of the very pleasant restaurants, love the views! They also have a Monthly Art & Farm Market hosted by The Shops at SanRoc Cay, the third Wednesday of every month, from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm with arts, crafts, food, produce and family fun. I think they suspend it for Jan & Feb. For your dining pleasure, there's Gulf Shores Steamer, Louisiana Lagniappe, Fresh Off The Boat and occasionally San Bar will have a food truck visit. For shopping there's some very nice boutiques and shops including Blue Lagoon Swimwear, Gifted, Harmony Creek Farm, Jane Loves Shoes, JLS, Sweet Dreams, Too Hot Mamas and The Treasure Chest. At the marina, there's Reel Surprise Charters SanRoc Cay Dock Store, DownUnder Dive and Wallace Boat Rentals.
