I had fillings done 6 months ago, and since then I had been back to them over and over to fix pain in my teeth and jaw. They told me it was probably that my teeth are sensitive, to try a different toothpaste. Nothing helped so I just stopped going back. But finally after a very long time of not being able to chew on one side of my mouth I was done! I asked friends for recommendations and Dr. Roush was one of them. I told him everything I was feeling, and what I felt might be the problem. He listened very closely, and tested a few different things to make sure he found the correct teeth that were having the problem. He verified that my bite was off, and worked very carefully to shape my teeth correctly so they fit together right. He even went the extra mile and cleaned up blobs of material still stuck to my teeth in weird places from the dentist that did my fillings. He also smoothed out the rough surfaces on my teeth that they didn't bother to fix as well. My tooth and jaw pain has already improved after one visit! I am so happy, and so relieved! Then when I arrived, they asked for the cards again and told me they couldn't find me in the system--not even for Medicare, and I'm 71! Finally, after 1/2 hr. they found my records. The xrays, exam and cleaning all went OK. But they said they needed prior authorization to carry out a crown and a filling and said it would take 3-4 weeks. After 8 weeks I called and they still didn't have an answer. Upon checking with Medicaid, they said they were told they didn't file the request properly and had to start the process over. I waited another 8 weeks and called again but they still hadn't heard from Medicaid. So, I called Medicaid myself and was told that they had no record of any authorization requests from Complete Smiles.They also said that they were only a few days behind in reviewing authorization requests--NOT 3-4 or 4-6 weeks or longer. When I told the dentist's office about this, they admitted that they've been having serious issue with their clearing house which was hacked and weren't even getting paid for their services. Bad things happen, but this office was very remiss in not following up more closely and notifying me why things were taking so long. In the meantime, 4 mos. later, I finally went to another dentist and found out that my need for a crown has escalated into a root canal. And 3 more small cavities were not detected by the dentist at Complete Smiles.

Crowns look great, but what's underneath doesn't…read more After their initial root canal and crown (done wrong), I ended up with a year-long infection that eventually required an apicoectomy and then a full root canal redo by an endodontist -- who was shocked they had let it go so long (more than a year) and hadn't caught, on imaging, that the entire root canal seal had failed and was leaking. Right after the crowns were placed more than a year ago, I called them in urgent pain -- but they didn't answer for a full week because of "phone issues." In desperation, I went to a 24/7 dentist who misdiagnosed me. When they finally answered the next day, I went back because they knew my case and I didn't want to risk losing my new crowns. They loaded me with antibiotics, did the apicoectomy, and gave me a free bottle of "fairy dust" mouthwash, assuring me that time would help. It didn't. They could have caught this much earlier with proper imaging like an MRI and a timely referral to an endodontist. Instead, it was delay after delay, unnecessary procedures, and more pain than I should have endured. I will not be returning. I paid a lot of money for a nice crown with a hole in it.

There is a dental office next door. Check them out before coming here. I made the greatest mistake of having them do some extensive work. Both times it was a disaster. Now, I'm in the process of paying more money to get it fixed. If you have options, I encourage you to look into those options before stepping foot into this establishment. UPDATE: please read their response. I had given this establishment the opportunity to correct their error with an extensive procedure of fixing my front tooth bite. During the procedure he shaved my tooth to fit the bite. However, I now have a gap in my bite and air pockets. I had contacted them a week after the procedure in July 2025. It took a month to get a reply. I then took it upon myself to check with another provider on what I see and his thoughts. The provider stated the work completed was far less than par. In order to fix this, it will cost me $8K out of pocket because Genesis has exhausted my dental benefits and will not reimburse me or fix this issue. This is the second time I had this exact issue with them. I trusted them to not make the same mistakes. I used loyalty and blinded my instincts. I should have listened to my intuition considering Dr.Foltz's has never made me feel comfortable or accepted during my annual checkups. I assumed it was me. However, with the statements below, my instincts were correct. Dr. Foltz doesn't genuinely care about his patients. If he did, he would have at least made an effort. Instead he excused my genuine concerns and told me to never come back. Please note that that my daughters and I have been a patients of Genesis dental for many years. If Dr.Foltz felt that he was inexperienced or uncomfortable with these types of procedures, then the proper steps would be for him to refer to another dentist. I double down on this location, do not come here. They will treat you just the same. Their dental technicians are fresh out of dental school and there are going to be mistakes that they are unwilling to correct. Also, DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING until after you see the work. Genesis dental advised me to sign a form stating I was satisfied with the work in an email PRIOR to my appointment and another form while waiting in the office.
