We had the difficult task of planning our weding in Vancouver from California. We were nervous booking any caterer because we couldn't make it up to meet in person or have a tasting. We had phone conversations with many chefs and caterers, but after our intial conversation with Served it was evident that they possed the expereience and creativity we were looking for. We wanted to incorporate our Asian heratage into the cusine, and it was so awesome to hear Treavor's recommendations and suggestions around the possibilities of Asian Fusion. We were so impressed with his talent, knowledge, and creativity on the spot! We had an intimate wedding at a private home in Furry Creek. Both meals were incredibly delicious. Cosmic Catering staff and ownership were beyond anything a tv show could write up...... Not enough Food even though the headcount was 15 less Not enough plates or cutlery so the staff rinsed plates and cutlery to be used a second time , not exactly a terrible thing to do but for the fact they had no soap which to was these with. The Sandwiches to be put out for snacks later in the evening had 2 problems first being they had been left unrefrigerated from 3:00 on a rather warm day but if you wanted to still have one there was no one to put them out because all the staff had left. Caterers where to come back at 1230 to start to clean things up , linens ,cups , glass wear etc. The owner shows at 1030 and promptly walks up to the bride and demands gratuity be paid the bride replies not here not now sort of thing , owner then goes around removing linens while people are still sitting at the tables. I have a linen on my table which she proceeds to cuss me out on telling she needs the linen. Well in order for me to give the linen it required to stop the music which I was not going to do, long story short the owner became belligerent and throwing stuff off tables in order to retrieve her linens she was ignorant to the bride and guests these are just the highlights .... The manager started removing the table cloths 2 hours before the end of the reception and was rude demanding we remove decorations and our personal effects out of her way. We have never attended a wedding where a service/vendor would deliberately disrupt the event in such a way. My fork was badly bent but I was told there were no spare forks and they ran out of plates. My plate had baked on food!! Service seemed rushed and staff uncertain of themselves (new?) I would not recommend this company for any medium or large sized weddings.

First, they were so easy to work with, all we need to do was to give a brief of the event and they do the rest! We were delighted that we did not need to use up the entire budget set aside for the type of nibbles & drinks we were looking at (unlike other caterers we were comparing with). Short of saying that Austin Gourmet helped us channelled some budget to other areas of our event! Food wise, like the rest of the reviews mentioned, was delicious! We had a spread of delectable selection of pastries & sweets, sandwiches, wraps and cookies. Not forgetting the hot & cold beverages. The food is truly mouth watering. It is utmost joy as hosts to see our guests happily chomping down the food. As for the set up & pick up, their staff were more than punctual. In fact they were there waiting for us to arrive! Everything was set up carefully and nothing was amiss. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The event was a success and the food played a huge role. We couldn't ask for anything more. Not impressed with the service that Austin Gourmet provides. We use them for business lunches and…read morealthough their prices are reasonable and the food is decent, the service is horrible. Delivery drivers show up late, there has been missing items and even items with another company name written on them being delivered to us. They are also not consistent with picking up the dirty catering dishes and trays the same afternoon or the next day. I almost always have to call them 2, 3 and even 4 times to request that the dirty catering trays be picked up. I have found another catering company in the Tri-Cities which provides much better service and we will not be using Austin Gourmet again.
