Dandy's Pet Grooming - Taken 1-2 days before Maple's appointment. This is the coat the business later described as having "extensive matting."

    Dandy's Pet Grooming

For those with doodles know ... it's hard to keep up with brushing and they can easily get matted…read more I went to Dandy's pet grooming expecting the worst because of my doodle's matted hair situation , but they did such with the grooming and he looks great. Glad to find a great spot for my guy

UPDATE in response to the owner's reply:…read more The owner's response is exactly why I'm updating this review. They are now publicly claiming Maple arrived with "extensive matting" and a coat in "very poor condition." If her coat was genuinely in such serious condition that it could not safely be addressed in one appointment, that should have been communicated to us at drop-off, during the roughly four hours she was in their care, or at pickup. It wasn't. I've also added a photo of Maple taken approximately 1-2 days before this appointment so people can see her condition for themselves. I'm not claiming a photo can show every inch of a Husky's undercoat, but it provides important context for the way the business is now describing her. What is especially frustrating is that their original explanation to us was essentially that Maple had gone months without grooming and would continue shedding afterward. Only after I complained did the explanation become "extensive matting" severe enough to require several grooming sessions. Their response about water also did not reassure me. They state that they provide water when a pet "appears to need it." Maple was there for approximately four hours. I do not think a dog should have to become visibly thirsty, excessively warm, or heavily panting before being offered reasonable access to water. I never expected one grooming appointment to completely stop a Husky from shedding. My complaint is about the quality of the service, the way our concerns were handled afterward, and the fact that this supposedly severe condition was never communicated to us until it became useful as a public explanation for the result. If Maple truly arrived with "extensive matting" and a coat in "very poor condition," I would have expected that to be documented, photographed, and discussed with us immediately. That did not happen. Their response has not changed my opinion of this experience. If anything, it has reinforced it.

If you're looking for good, quality, TRUSTWORTHY daycare for your pup, then try Gateway Paw House!…read moreI've been bringing my standard poodle Olive to the Paw House since they opened. The owner, Pam is FANTASTIC as are all the rest of the doggie daycare darlings that work for her! Clean, well-maintained daycare facility. There is ALWAYS a human in watch and Pam ensures the right mix of temperaments of the canines. If price is a concern, go for the 30-day package! You can also get your pup groomed, bathed and prettied up! There are plenty of other daycares that are MUCH closer to where we live on Coquina Key, but Gateway Paw House is WORTH the drive!!!

About 4 months ago I took my dog in for a wash and dry when I picked him up they had cut his hair…read morereally short he's a Bernadoodle The owner said she had to because of his Matt's needless to say I was pissed Thus again I told Pam I just wanted him to be washed and dried which is $35.00 I go to pay and the girl told me it was $71.00 I said for what she says he was groomed at which time I got loud and with that Pam comes out and got loud and he was matted that's the only thing that I could do with him I had been brushing him 4 times a week he wasn't matted she yells I called you to tell you but you didn't answer and I left a message. With that go out to my to get the phone. I look and the only call she made to me was to tell he's ready to picked up no mention of he cutting hi way to short She says that all I could do with him I told her first of all it's not your decision to make if you couldn't do what I asked for then you should have called me and I would have taken him somewhere else Now on to the virus he got on his eye it was the size of an errasor on a pencil When he first got it of course I took him to a hospital they knew what it was and asked me if I ever take him to a dog park I said no then the next question was how about a day care I said yes at the paw house 4 days a week they went on to explain that this virus usually shows up in infected dogs mouths and when dogs play rough the infected dog can trans give it to another dog If you're going to run a day care besides temperament they should have a clearance from a vet that they have no viruses they can give other dogs Pam has a lousy personality she's Aragant and seems to be an angry bitter woman When I my dog home not only did she cut him without my consent it's so uneven that I have an appointment with another groomer to even out his coat All this to say I would never recommend the Paw House to anyone

When it came time to choose a groomer to help my wife and I with our cat Delilah's grooming needs,…read moreI chose Furology based on all the positive reviews I found here on Yelp. I'm very happy to say all that praise is well-earned -- our first experience was very positive, and it won't be our last! A few things to note for pet parents looking to check them out. Furology is located on Central Avenue in the Grand Central District, just a few blocks south of the Historic Kenwood neighborhood. There's some street parking in front of their storefront and across the street, but on busy days you may have to park on the next block or on a nearby neighborhood street. Also, they have a small space, so just one customer in the lobby at a time -- I'm especially noting this because I didn't see the sign on the door, I came in while someone was dropping off their labradoodle, saw the sign on the way out and felt terrible about it! Finally, for methods of payment they accept cash, checks, and Venmo. The process for getting Delilah was very simple. I called, I spoke to Rachel, the owner, and provided some basic information, she provided the next available day and time range for drop offs, I confirmed, and we were all set. She did provide a quote and an estimate of how long Delilah's stay would be that day, which was just a few hours for a bath and a nail trim. When the day came, everything (aside from me missing the "one customer at a time" sign) went very smoothly. Rachel and Rochelle were friendly, gentle and professional during pick-up and drop-off -- everything you could hope for when trusting your fur babies to someone for the first time. Delilah came home a little hungry, but otherwise her prancing princess self, and that tells me Furology took very good care of her. We'll definitely be back, for her and very likely for our other cat, Nala.

They are efficient and kind to animals and great value! Also easy to schedule appointmentsread more
