Now this is good coffee! Not too bitter, not too sweet ... sounds like I've just stepped out of the 'Goldilocks and the 3 Bears' storybook - but it's true. It's not that often that you can say the coffee was perfect and at this small, tasteful cafe, it was just that.
I walked in completely by chance, as I was early for a meeting in the area and was immediately welcomed by the friendly staff. With only a few wooden tables inside and being too cold a day to sit outside, I shared a table with a guy who was eating a toasted sandwich that smelled so good, I decided to order one too.
I went with the tuna toastie. It was delicious. I loved the little wooden boards that the food was served on - a great touch. The decor is simple and unpretentious; with a warm, homely vibe. The upstairs area is dedicated to a roasting machine and I learned all their coffee is roasted on premises. Although not in my usual stamping ground, this is a place I will definitely be coming back to. read more
