I really enjoy coming to this thrift store. Althoughaff members can be a little rude. I won somet recently on an auction and I was out of town burying my brothers ashes with my mother. I got home and called and they already put my item back on the floor. This place has changed a lot. And not for the better. Before, the thrift store was jam packed with furniture, awesome miscellaneous items, great houseware products, and they were priced accordingly, considering they get the items they sell for free. Now, there is never any furniture and if there is they want $200 for some particle board. When you inquire about the furniture, they'll lie and say the had a whole bunch and sold it all. Before you could get Pyrex or other housewares but now it seems like they only have people in the back working on clothes. They have a lot of clothes, but quantity doesn't mean quality. Often the price of the stained, worn out jeans are not far from the price of a brand new pair. So you're better off buying new. They used to have electronics. Like I said they used to have a lot of things. They used to have nice employees too, but all these people are rude and especially the guy decked out in Salvation Army gear head to toe. He's very obnoxious and annoying. It's a shame that a place that is supposed to help the community acts like you are wasting their time when you ask why they are charging so much for something that they got for free, that is more than what it costs to buy it new!!! The biggest issue I have is watching boxes of donations come in, and the understaffed and overwhelmed employees taking it straight out to the back dumpster and throwing it ALL away without even opening the box to see what is in there. They even throw away the box, which I don't get because next to their dumpster is a cardboard recycling bin. So if you don't want your donations intended for the greater good of the community to be thrown away, then don't donate to this place. Especially after overhearing them talk about the bonuses they make if they reach their sales goal. You'd think that employee bonuses would really encourage the employees to actually sort the donations and get as much as they can on the floor, but they have no concerns for the customers or the needs of the underprivileged. If you are ever in doubt, you can watch them throw away your donations in the back parking lot. Or watch them load up the Salvation Army truck with stuff they could have sold to you for a decent price, but instead they run over to the dump instead. read more
