(Proposal…read more#16872151) OCI360 Exteriors sent out someone to look at the project (June 7, 2024) and spent a few hours measuring and talking about procedure and policies etc. He gave me a quote within a few hours and even offered to lower it if we would pay cash. He called his boss while we were sitting there, who offered an even better price if we would let them put a sign up and pressure us to agree to terms on the spot, which I said I would not do without my spouse. They sent the proposal (June 18, 2024) and we agreed to terms that day or the next and I signed the contract. They sent an invoice for the first third of the work (June 28, 2024, I didn't see this the first time, and requested that they resent it on July 1, 2024). They sent the project manager out to look at the job (On or about July 3, 2024) and look at logistics. He told me that once the deposit was paid they will file a permit the same day with our town. I texted them immediately after the deposit was sent (July 8, 2024) and my phone rang within 10 seconds. They said they mismeasured the job (two weeks earlier) and it would require $5500 more for them to do the job. This was a 68% increase over the agreed upon (signed contract) price. They asked me how much my other offers were for and I said I wouldn't tell them that and that I expected the company to hold up their end of our contract. I do not think they are losing money at all. After two weeks since I paid and they have still not filed a permit or delivered a dumpster as promised. The project manager texted me today to say that his office would start processing the return of my deposit as they would not do the job unless we agreed to pay 68% more than the quoted, signed upon price. If this review is still posted here, then this matter has not been resolved, and my money has still not been refunded.

Where other contractors canceled appointments, arrived late, or were just no-shows - Mikel (out of their Hudson office) arrived on time and did a thorough assessment of the roof including taking drone footage. He sat with me and walked me through the whole process clearly, explaining all my choices in materials and didn't push any product or add-on. I did receive marginally cheaper quotes, but they did not leave me feeling like my home was in good hands in the same way that Mikel did, and I felt the extra money was likely to be worth it. Once I decided to go ahead with them, again, everything was done very professionally. I was kept informed of times and everybody showed up exactly when they said they would. I made a small change to the scope of the work in replacing additional plywood sections of the roof, and these were easily accommodated on short notice. On the day of the work, the crew showed up on time and Jurgan (the site foreman) kept everything moving with minimal disruption to us. I was working from home, and my wife and kids were in and out of the house for school and errands. Despite replacing the entire roof of the main building and two additions over approximately 9 hours, there was minimal disruption to our days. The house was protected during the work, and even with snow still on the ground, their cleanup crew constantly walked the property picking up and disposing of any debris, nails, old material etc. Ultimately the roof was replaced successfully and looks good. Every step of the job was explained to me, every question answered, and every decision explained. The team was professional, punctual and courteous throughout. A couple of weeks in and we've had snow, rain and strong winds. Everything is still perfect. I can highly recommend Mikel and Jurgan from Golden Group, Hudson.

Even then he could have said your whole roof needs to be redone , but he suggested a patch would do the trick. I recently discovered I had yet another problem with the roof again. It was near where he worked on it. I thought maybe I should call Jon. We have a mutual acquaintance who told me Jon was incredibly busy. Not surprising. I also have seen advertisements for Uxbridge residents on Facebook and Instagram. I figured he may have had to limit his area and that he was more than likely inundated with various roofing jobs. I thought maybe my job would be way too small for him. I had a 6-8 ft section of my roof that had gotten spongey. I have huge icicles that slam down hard on the roof as well as ice dams that I try to keep ahead of. While shoveling snow off the roof this past winter I discovered the problem. I still had his name in my contact list so I decided to give it a try and text him. I told him the problem, and that it wasn't an emergency. I also told him I had a vacation and wouldn't be home for a week. As soon as I got home I got a text from him the next day saying that he'd come and take a look at it. He did! After his assessment he said he'd get to it soon as possible. I wasn't expecting that to be 3 days later! He sent some of his crew and they put a new piece of plywood , roofing supplies, and new shingles and made it look like nothing ever happened. They were here for about 3 hours. I texted him to say thank you and to let me know what I had owed him. Let's just say what I thought I was going to have to pay , His number came WAY under what I had expected When I told my wife that we're gonna have to deal with the roof, she said are you gonna get a few estimates ? I said "no I have Jon Rigali!!! Despite coming to our home and taking room measurements, we could not get a quote from this contractor for months. The urine smell in the house was a daily nightmare, we just wanted this done! To my surprise, he responded immediately and was able to come out within a couple of days to see the floors and take measurements. Better yet, he got us a quote the SAME night.
