FRS did a massive job for us last year. They completely redid our roof which hadn't been done in decades (even down to replacing the wooden boards at the very bottom), and they redid a rubber roof on top of our garage, which we use as a deck. We are obviously not roofing experts, but to us, all the work looked very thorough, professional, and high quality. So far, we have had no major issues. Whenever we did point out an issue, FRS came back, without complaining, and fixed the issue. As to outstanding issues, everything was fixed to our satisfaction, even when it meant multiple visits to fix the same issue. They were always polite, professional, and diligent when they had to return. I am confident that if we have other issues in the future, under their 50 year warranty, they will come back and fix everything to our satisfaction if necessary For the rubber roof on top of garage, we had had previous issues with leaking. After the roof was replaced, they were very diligent about coming back to test the roof after heavy rain to make sure it wasn't leaking anymore They did quite a bit of free work for us too. I called and spoke with someone live. I said I only needed the gutters cleaned. He asked mea number of unrelated and uncomfortable questions, the age of the roof, what I do for work, what my work hours are, and if my husband (!) would be home before making the appointment for a wrote...as if I couldn't contract for a service without "my husband." My spidey sense told me they were going to try to sell me a new roof but I went ahead with the appointment. The tech arrived on schedule, I explained the work needed and sure enough he said, "We don't do gutters alone, only if it's part of a roofing job. The notes say you needed your roof repaired." Don't bait and switch, please. And don't ask women callers if their husbands will be home. It's insulting and misogynistic. We had a problem with the small roof above bay window, and over time a leak developed. We hired FRS as they were the most responsive of all businesses we had contacted. Communication, initial inspection and scheduling were smooth. FRS went beyond simple re-roofing; they sealed cracks they found around the window and also fixed the chimney trim that might have been also a leak source. All was done in one day including complete clean up. I must add (as this was the basis for several negative reviews): FRS does have a policy of asking all homeowners to give consent to the work planned. FRS did some work on our garage, they replaced the roof, added gutters, and replaced some siding a rotted wood. The quote process was lengthy and more detailed than most companies. But we really understood what and how the work would be done. The work itself went very smoothly. They showed up on schedule, were quiet other than the nail gun, and cleaned up leaving the area cleaner than when they started. Initially the down spouts for the gutter were not where we wanted them. They quickly agreed to come back and move them to where we wanted, taking responsibility for not asking us in advance where we wanted them. We received an estimate that was much, much lower than other quotes. The work was fantastic, the price was a great value, and it was all done quickly once started. HOWEVER. It was impossible to get someone on the phone when our project manager left the company. We waited WEEKS for a day that they said would take days to set up. I would call asking for an update and they would say that they had no record of the job, and then try to transfer me to the guy that didn't work at the company anymore! they were immensely disorganized from an office standpoint. These guys are you one call anything to do with roof. They have done a few patches after removing older roof vents that were no good and removed a unused chimney. Also cut in a new ridge vent. I called to schedule service; during the initial call, I was asked if my husband could be available for the appointment, which I confirmed, much to my chagrin but needing to get someone out. I then received a follow up call shortly before the appointment to reconfirm that my husband would be present, which leads me to believe that I was not trusted on the first call. Look, I get that you are likely looking for all decision makers to be present. But please, train your team not to engage with customers this way. First, trust what people say. Second, please stop asking women for their husbands to be present. It is misogynistic, disrespectful, and communicates that you as a company do not trust women to be decision makers, not to mention exclusionary of people who are not partnered. Do better. read more
