Gas prices in this area are cheaper than what I'm used to in the greater Toronto area. I decided to top off my car's gas tank and found this Ultramar. In this area of Trent Hills, there's this gas station and another one across the street. I naturally went with this one that involved making a right turn into the gas station and readily pulling back onto the road. I was the only person at this gas station just after 8 pm. There was a male staffer in the convenience store. I paid at the pump. I had to do it twice, though. For some reason, on my first attempt to pay for gas with a credit card, my transaction got cancelled. With this particular credit card, the company does fraud checks. I thought that it may have done it here, but it was not the case. I think the payment system was acting up a bit. I tried the transaction again and it was approved. I went ahead and topped my gas tank up. I didn't need anything from the convenience store. It's nice to know that if you do need snacks or windshield washer fluid, you can get some here. You can earn Journie rewards here. I don't drop by Ultramar enough to warrant signing up for rewards. I'll need to do more research there to see if it's worth signing up. After that, a quick pump activation by the store attendant and a fill of 87 octane. My sweetie wanted a lotto quick pick ticket...hoping to be a lucky visitor that purchased a ticket...just rolling through a small town. I used my Petro-Canada rewards card for the fuel and lotto purchase. Store staff asked if I wanted to redeem some of my points but I said I'll keep collecting for a free full tank in the future. There was a chuckle from the friendly and courteous attendant. Back on the road again!

Anyway, long story short, the owner Ron came talk to my husband and me. We did not know Ron was the store owner in the beginning. We thought he is a local / tourist passing by. However, Ron is very friendly and offered us free drinks. Ron is a super interesting person to talk to and he said he went back Woodview to open this store because it is his dream. Beside the store, there is a food truck and an ice cream shop. It also has a picnic area, so it is actually a good place to hang out and grab a quick snack.
