My sweetie wanted a lotto quick pick ticket...hoping to be a lucky visitor that purchased a ticket...just rolling through a small town. I used my Petro-Canada rewards card for the fuel and lotto purchase. Store staff asked if I wanted to redeem some of my points but I said I'll keep collecting for a free full tank in the future. There was a chuckle from the friendly and courteous attendant. Back on the road again!

Travelers from the GTA, Peterborough and surrounding areas use this gas station a lot in the summer time, as it's just before town after a long drive, and you can fuel up at the station and grab a coffee from the nearby Tim's. What started out as a $10 or $15 purchase ended up being more than double that - because of a sales person standing outside the door. She was friendly, and approached people pumping gas, to promote her wares: cans of compressed car cleaners, and she proceeded to spray the windows and headlights. It did such a good job that we picked up half a dozen cans. Hey, you never know when you'll need your vehicle to look sharp; you might be out in the middle of nowhere, and you never know who you'll run into :-)

Arnprior is like being out in the country without being so g-dforsaken far! It's a village or a town, and spread out. But at least they've got a Canadian Tire, as well as the CT gas bar. This is a good pit-stop when heading out to Calabogie, Renfrew, or crossing the border into Quebec to go to the Shawville fair. Thank you Canadian Tire for reopening the gas bar!!

Unfortunately, my eggs were a bit better done than I like them, but the meal was still edible, while we were eating and our friends were waiting for their food, the waitress admitted that they were short staffed by 2 people (you could really tell!) Later on, we heard they had run out of eggs. Although it is an interesting place, with an eclectic menu, and it's not next door for us, I would not be in a hurry to go back.
